- Leftover Thanksgiving ham?
If you ever have a bone in ham that's already cooked...don't throw away that bone! That leftover smoked ham bone will make you some tasty soup.
I used my leftover food from this holiday for as many dishes as I could before I ran out! In this video I show you how to make Navy Bean and Ham soup using the smoked ham bone with some slices of ham included.
All you need for this easy recipe is:
Ham
Ham bone
Salt
Pepper
Onion
Garlic
And about 2 1/2 hours of time to cook
I hope you enjoy this recipe!
Please check out my other cooking channel called The Sandwich King: czcams.com/channels/7FrNp9q0qNz3YJF5XoDJXA.html
Not sure if this channel is still active but, I've tried all the ham bone and bean soups on CZcams and YOURS is the best.
Thank you 😊
My momma used it make this , heaven knows she's missed, adore they if your fortunate enough to still have them , have a blessed day thanks for the recipe.
I learned alot hanging out in the kitchen watching my mom cook. Thank you for watching.
Bean soup has always been one of my favourites, your right never throw out the ham bone. And in my case I have been known to poach the ham bone from my Mom. Course I always bring her back some of the soup. 😁!!!
Thank you so much for this recipe! I’ve been searching for a REAL recipe without any cans or fake broth! I’m so excited to try it!
I started getting hungry as soon as you added ham pieces to the onions.
Love this real ham and bean soup recipe .. no canned broth! Real food made at home. So many people cook using canned/boxed broth from the store and stuff like dried Lipton onion soup. Why waste peoples time showing them how to open a box of overly-processed broth instead of showing them how to make broth/soup from scratch that is not loaded with preservatives, sugars, bad oils, etc THANK YOU .. I haven't made it yet but plan to in near future, good Lord willing, and know it will be excellent
Thank you so much for your comment and 👀.
glad to see i am not the only one to take the first layer off the onion after the skin lol
Just your introduction started making my mouth water!Freaking ham looked fantastic!
Thanks@
Came for ham & beans tips, staying for the warm & welcoming future episodes. Thank you!!
Thank you for watching. 😃
I love bean soup it's so delicious
It really is!
Thanks for the recipe!❤
I made almost 16 quarts of soup today and I recommend that everybody try making navy bean soup once with a bunch of ham hocks because it gives the soup such a delicious flavor! I didn't even need to add salt and I added in some fresh thyme pepper bay leaf The usual suspects. And that ham hock meet got sweet in the soup literally I had to put the meat in the refrigerator because every time I rolled by it I was going to eat some. :-)
Lol...I'm glad you enjoyed your meal! Now I'm hungry!
Great video! I love using leftovers! I don't eat ham, but I will make a sandwich with leftover turkey or chicken.
Making it right at this moment. Been wanting some Ham and bean soup. Now I have to make cornbread.
Yum! One of my favorites
I am so happy to have found this channel! My Mamaw used to make this all the time! I can't wait to make this for my Family tonight! I'll also be making corn bread with it, just like Mamaw did❤
JUST FINISHED MY LAST BOWEL LOVE THIS SOUP

Looks good, I have a pot of Navy Beans and Ham on the stove today.
Just put this on the meal plan for sure! Ordered my ham and it's on a soon as we get our 1st fall day here in Chicago! Thanks!!

Yum! Reminds me of my Dad's soup. It's great for split pea soup too. Thanks.
I love a tasty split pea soup!
I just made navy bean soup today! I didn't have a ham bone but I had four ham hocks and it came out super delicious! :-)
I love ham hocks! Yum!
Just like grandma use to make.🇺🇸🐻
You made more of a part of beans than a soup. I had carrots celery onions garlic and potatoes when I make it in the winter and it's -9°. If I make it in the fall or spring I don't make it quite so vegetable heavy. :-)
I have a couple of ham bones. Doing this today! This looks fantastic!
Thanks. It is such a tasty dish.
This looks so good! Thanks for the recipe!!!
You are welcome 😊 Thanks for watching.
lookin good man!! yesh love left over ham!!😋
Can’t wait to make this!!
This is good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 👀.
Making this now after Christmas
Thank you, I also like to add chopped carrots, celery and a couple bay leaves. You can quickly thicken the soup by scooping out beans with some liquid and using a stik or immersion blender to puree the beans and put back in. Blessings to you my friend!
Great tip!
Beautiful. Thank you sir.
Thank you.
Our temperatures have been in the negative for the past 2 weeks. I made a giant pot of vegetable soup last week and a giant pot of Navy being in ham soup today. I'm not done making soup I have only begun to cook. :-)
I love soup season…
That soup looks delicious. Thanks!!!
Thank you for watching. 😃
I'm going to try this!
Let me know how it comes out for you. Thanks for watching.
@@NoMenuCooking I haven't decided whether or not I want to use the instapot, a big old pot or buy a Dutch oven. Thanks for the video!

I've even been making homemade bread ( our 2 granddaughters love coming over and learning
All these great life sustaining tips.
My daughter m law is like you are the best
I've been teaching them how to garden they love watching that little seed grow into tomatoes, all kinds of peppers, squashes, cantaloupe etc etc
They even had a plant sale last spring as we grew more than we needed.
Our neighbors were so happy as we sold them for $2 -plus many free.
As the stores were crazy even last spring- selling tomato. Plants for over $7
Teaching our child and grandchildren
Is so.important
Im.so glad my dad & grandmother taught all of us.
God bless you & I hope you save money with our economy by gardening

@@NoMenuCooking Thank you.
Great video and I'm definitely going to make this.
It will be so tasty! Thanks for watching.
Just want you to know that I enjoyed watching your video on cooking this delicious ham and navy bean soup! It's my favorite! I like to cook the han bone until it's tender, and in the meantime, I like to spice up the water as the hambone is being tenderized, plus I add Goya's ham seasoning to the pot...your video is heartwarming, so thank you for sharing with us!!
Thank you and your recipe sounds delicious!
@@NoMenuCooking Thank you so much! That made me very happy!
Great Video!!
Thank you!
Delicious. .
I use great northern beans. Reminds me of my dad passed out drunk on the floor.
Looks great..
My husband and I make this soup in the winter months and we serve over boiled potatoes...They are just the best!!! Mmmmmm!
That sounds tasty with the potatoes 🥔 😋.
You hooked me when you mentioned using a Traeger smoked ham, which is exactly what I'm trying to use up.
It's has so much flavor when it's Traeger smoked! Let me know if you use your leftovers for another dish too. Thanks for watching.
@@NoMenuCooking I also used part of the ham for split pea soup.
Yum! I love a good split pea soup.
Looks good I do gots a question when your adding water to it is it hot water or ?
Good question. Yes I add hot water to it like cup of tea hot. Thanks for watching.
I've been looking at YT recipes for my Thanksgiving hambone soup. I think this is the one. I'll probably cut up a couple of carrots to go in also, but that's it.
Awesome and thanks for watching 👀.
I know what you are trying to say bro......THE WARM HARTH OF HOME. .....PRAISE JESUS
Thanks for the video. About at the 2:40 mark, you were cutting that onion pretty fast. If I had tried that, it would have probably have to have been called "red" onions. And at about the 9:00 minute mark you said that you were going to take a "quick taste test". There ain't no such thing. I am sure you "chowed down" during that "quick taste test". I just subscribed; your house is now on my "good meals" list. So when is dinner?
Lol...I made one video where I sliced my finger on it and when I edited the video I used that part of the video as a safety warning. I finaly grew the skin back on my finger tip...lol. I definitely did chow down with a nice bowl as a taste test...I could not help myself because some how I just could not put the spoon down! Thanks for watching my video and I appreciate your comment.
Thank you for showing how to make this soup. You have a nice easy way about you. Bone appetit! Pun intended.🤓
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi Jay it's me sophia tell hi to everyone and I miss u all hope to see u again
Hi. Meloni misses you too.
Hope to see you guys soon
😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
needs carrots. and celery
Alot of people like it that way too. 😃
How do you make the water thick and white?
Hi. The starch from the beans break down as they cook and makes the water thicker.
Based on the amount of water, I’m guessing the bears weren’t soaked, is that correct?
That is correct. The beans were not soaked. Thanks for watching 👀 🙂.
AMAZING YUMMY LOVELY NAVY BEANS THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟❤️🖤💚 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜, AWESOME,
Thank you.
Think it would help or hurt to use chicken broth/stock?
That would definitely give it some nice flavor. Just use low sodium. 😃
At 3:53 dude drops ham on the floor, then picks it up and puts it directly in the pot!
If you pay attention the video is clipped because I edited the part out where I stopped and picked it up and threw it in the garbage.
*An awful lot of meat left on that bone... at least a sandwich or three...*
"You're," not "your.' Lost me there.
I wanna scream when somebody says throw out the bone
