I think they meant that ‘Bobbit worms *make* their burrows about 300 feet or 95 meters beneath the surface.’ Maybe you just read it wrong? They just continued from the last sentence. :)
Well if their 118 feet long it would make sense for them to have a burrow three times as big as themselves. They don’t just stick out of the surface all day long

@@lassenker07 idk where you got your education but you need to recheck how big 10 feet is man. A average human male is about 5 feet 9 inches. That means it’s almost double as long as a average man.
I’ve witnessed one of these years ago when visiting my relatives in Karachi, Pakistan. My husband and I took a walk on the shore at night. It was a high tide as the waves 🌊 were really high. Even saw a baby sea snake floating on top of the waves. Anyway, as we walked we suddenly saw this creature lying on the sand. It was a small one. About a foot or two long. My husband grabbed a stick off the beach and bent down to inspect this creature. He asked me what it was. That was also the first time I’ve seen anything like it too. He was flipping this ugly thing over and over with the stick. It was sort of red or pink colored. Looked like a giant centipede. Something you’d see out of a horror film. Creepy as hell! I told my husband to better stop playing with it, as we didn’t know if it was venomous. I never forget that night. Looks just like in the video.
The name really isn't cute. It's a reference to the John and Lorena Bobbitt case, where Lorena Bobbitt used a kitchen knife to slice off John's phallus after experiencing much physical and sexual assault from him. His phallus was then surgically reattached. The bobbit-worm is hence named because it often slices its prey into two.
That’s a really scary animal species! Looks like the small version of the monster kraken octopus of The Pirates of the Caribean which swallowed all ships😱

The sickest part of this creature? Its name. It was named after the Lorena Bobbitt case from 1993. Where a woman....well let me just put it this way. You know how they said it cuts its prey in half. Replace the word in 'prey' with 'husband's' and 'in half' with 'manhood'.
@@GamerKent427I doubt if it was actually named after the woman. But look up the fascinating story of Mr. & Mrs. Bobbit. Apparently, Mr. Bobbit wasn't behaving in a manly way with his "manhood." If I remember correctly, surgeons were able to reattach the appendage. 😖 Don't know if Mr. Bobbit was able to be as athletic with it as before the incident. 😜
Fun fact: They're named 'Bobbit' after the 1993 case involving John and Lorena Bobbit. She cut off his worm while he slept and it was a total media frenzy back in the day.
