A little backstory:
I looked at some Deathwish videos and realized that none actually matched the timing of the amazing song as it happened to me during my first playthrough, so I decided to replicate that by recording it without music and then editing it over the whole run. Ended up getting a perfect combo on the first floor and then decided to do the whole thing like that, so here we are
Took me over 3 hours in tries, as I got the perfect combo in the first floor on a run separate from the other 3

especially the last part. never liked playing Alex&Ash. Alex path finds like an rpg companion, but it's a twitch-reflex precision top down shooter.

Mark extended arms actually useful. That was beautiful
Something cool I noticed recently; you play as the Fans in order of how sympathetic they are
You start out with Mark, who is the most laid-back Fan who often goes out and gets the team pizza
Then there's Corey, who is quiet and reluctant but still has a somewhat cold element to her
Then Tony, who explicitly states that he only wants to get into action and fights
Finally there's Alex/Ash, who are clearly just evil sadists who want to cause as much carnage as possible

Also the way the son encounters them on the pills... Mark is just a bear in comparison with the two headed swan monster that was Alex and ash, but others have said the son saw them like this due to the ever increasing intensity of the trip. Could be both but I love how it's all connected.

I got really obsessed with this game and spent an absolutely absurd amount of time becoming really great with the dodge rolling mechanic with Corey and the Son. It feels like you’re some kind of murder god when you can blitz through that second stage in death wish, matrix dodging bullets like a fucking boss. Corey is awesome if you’re an idiot moron like me and spend way too long mastering a difficult mechanic that’s questionably useful

i heavily agree with this mans opinion on Corey's floor
I don't normally like hard games (thanks carpal tunnel and getting old), but both Hotline games are an exception. I spent hours on end going through each level, carefully picking my way through. Glad I did, because they're two of the best games with some of the best music there ever was.
Once you play the level Apocalypse, the ending of this level means something different

I just lucked out to start shooting just as the music kicks in on my first playthrough and I got chills with how epic it felt.
Same bro, I legit bought HM1 and 2 today, and I'm jus blitzing through, and before I realized it, I got to this mission, and holy FXCK, I synced it to the song playing. Best feeling I've ever had in a while. ❤

the whole game is annoyingly hard
It feels like something is off about this video and my play through of this level. In the video the enemies don’t immediately fire with perfect accuracy the second I’m in firing range, but on my attempt the second I enter line of sight the trigger gets pulled. Idk the game wants to promote aggression but then actively punishes it
