When the coach says "how cruel", he means that it is cruel that they have not met before, because at this point they would already be a completely unstoppable duo.
Regarding the floating serve, yes, it is real, and it is absurdly difficult to do, and if the other team does not expect it it is also difficult to receive.
Thanks for the explanation on float serves! We looked them up and most people in the videos couldnât receive them lol. Theyâre no joke clearly!
Also Coach Ukai isnât lying on the âhow cruelâ comment. Theyâre almost like soul brothers in volleyball đđ€ We actually heard from someone else that they think Ukai is referring to the comparison between the two setters - Kageyama and Suga. Itâs interesting thereâs been different perspectives on this đ€
@@SxSReacts as suga is a 3rd year it is his last year playing in the high school so it is difficult for coach as well to go with the sentiments or let the kageyama showcase his talent so it will be cruel for Suga
Rest assured, every single character gets their arc.
Jump float serve is a legit serve guys ..even in football or soccer there are shot like that which appears to move in a path and then deviate suddently taking the opponents by surprise
6:41 I love this thought. This is so spot on. Because most people, if not all, during their first time watching Haikyuu, they always misunderstand Kageyama's relationship with Hinata. They don't hate each other, and they have their own unique way, especially Kageyama, to urge the other to catch up with them.
9:40 Jump floater serve is a serve that doesn't spin. Usually when you hit a ball, it spins. But if you hit a floater serve, you hit it in a way that it kills the spin and thus, floats in the air making it wobbly and hard to receive. Similar to knuckleball in baseball. And yes, it's realistic and is used by volleyball players.
Itâs probably hard to look past Kageyamaâs attitude towards Hinata but it def seems to come from a place of wanting him to grow! Kageyama is just a really awkward and passionate guy from our perspective at least lol
LOL enjoy the warm and fuzzy feels of first half of series. Last half all anxiety and hype, with dash of feels . Both are a great ride.
Yeah it's realistic. Think of it similarly to a knuckleball in baseball.
Had to look up knuckleball, we didnât know this was a thing either lol đ thanks for letting us know!
You guys might want to see some serves from Mateusz Bieniek! He is a polish national volleyball player and very good at serving! So proud to have someone like that representing my country đ
Oh nice weâll have to check him out!
tsuki and yamagucci is gonna have their moments in the future episodes just trust the process
This is truly one of those sports anime, where everything they show is 99% true to reality. Even crazy moves, tho exagerated with animation, are possible to perform - super hard, but possible. It all comes from love for the sport, so anime follows that message :) I would agree with "everyone is likable" but I don't want to keep saying that, as well as mentioning characters and that "you'll like them". Don't feel obligated to like characters, it's okay if someone is not up your alley đđ§Ą
Really appreciate you saying this! So far we surprisingly havenât found anyone unlikeable (Tsukki was originally lol but heâs growing on us). Weâll def keep your words in mind tho đ
Also we saw some videos of professional players doing floaters. Itâs crazy just how difficult this is to do! Funnily enough the pros make it look easy (of course) lol
haha, yeah it's going to be real good, can't wait!
By the end of the series you both gonna love tuskkiđ
Heâs growing on us already but now weâre curious whatâs going to happen with him! đ€
I'm waiting for more episodess >
Yes, jump floaters are realistic and nasty irl volleyball. Receiving it is like, "woah, it's slow, i got this" then suddenly, "nope i don't". Usually a normal jump floater is slow, but there are players who can pull off nasty spikey fast ones too. When it comes to serve, i personally like Yurie Nabeya & Dmitry Volkov
We want to see the little giant too đ
I love me some Kageyama appreciation and understanding đ thanks for the video!
The only fantasized/"animized" thing in this show is the freak quick- it's possible in theory, and may happen by chance but it's impossible for it to be consistent and to do it at will.
You should watch a CZcams vid of the best jump float serves- it's unbelievablly difficult to receive.
I canât wait for yâall to meet Nekoma!! â€
Always waiting for your reaction to this every week!!!
Glad youâre enjoying it! đ
You should try and learn how to play volleyball!â€
There are clubs out there that teach basics for all ages!đ
It's exciting to learn the game, and it's not that physical like basketball since there is a net in between opponents.đđ
Haha thatâs for the motivation! We def might have to look into it one day. Funny thing is that Iâm (Lisa) actually better at basketball than I was when I played volleyball in gym class đ

I donât wanna be that guy but Kageyama and Hinata arenât really a duo right now, Hinata is only working thanks to the crazy talent of kageyama
Not true. Hinata is the only one fast enough to hit Kageyamaâs quick toss in the 1st place. Yes, Kageyama being able to target Hinataâs spiking motion that fast is a big reason but to act like Hinata being just THAT fast and athletic isnât a part of what makes them a great duo right now and what makes the freak quick special is a dumb take.
Like idk why some fans just want to shit on Hinata so much early on. You can praise Kageyama without having to downplay Hinata all of the time đ€Ą
@@madbuck2741 Bruh Hinata is not good in volleyball early on, thats the fact, IÂŽm not shiting on him, I love him but thatÂŽs the truth. And no, Hinata is not the only one fast enough, the only think that make the quick posible from Hinatas side is that he trust Kageyama 100%, but im pretty sure thereÂŽs a ton of player as fast or even faster than Hinata. Idk why is so hard to accept the truth, the fact that he suck at volleyball and what he become is awesome
@@madbuck2741 Also, what I said is true, right now with out kageyama, Hinata isnÂŽt worth a penny and if u watched the whole series you would know that this is truth but I canÂŽt say why cuz I dont wanna spoil
@@nocturno666 I know youâre not this purposefully dumb. Hinata is the only one on the team fast enough to hit Kageyamaâs quick sets. Itâs literally what Daichi said when he explained about how the 2 would be compatible. Saying that someone from another team MIGHT be able to be fast enough on ANOTHER TEAM as a defense is so damn stupid. Thatâs like saying that Kageyama isnât that important to their duo because ATSUMU can also do the freak quick you absolute đ€Ą like come on. The point is that their combination is good from the start because of Kageyamaâs talent AND Hinataâs pure athleticism. Itâs SPELLED a million times during the story.
Yes Iâm aware that Hinata is inexperienced in volleyball. Which is not at all his fault btw. But thatâs not what is being argued. YOU are the one saying he isnât apart of the duo. IâM saying the freak quick can ONLY happen BECAUSE Hinata is that fast and athletic to keep up with the type of fast sets that Kageyama CAN make. NO ONE else can do that. Which IS why Hinata starts in the 1st place. Itâs not that hard of concept jfc
@@nocturno666 Iâve watched the whole series đ I know it back to front. My point is that Kageyama cannot do those freak quicks in Karasuno WITHOUT Hinata. Point to me which player on Karasuno can match Hinataâs athleticism? Enough to replace him in the freak quick?? GO ON đ€Ą
The thing is that you canât. The freak quick needs BOTH of them in order to exist. So to say that a âduoâ doesnât exist is STUPIDITY on YOUR part. Yes, we can admit which one is most essential. And no one is denying that Hinata grows as a volleyball player and that he needed to be better. But AGAIN that was NOT your point. YOU were saying they werenât a duo and that it is ALL Kageyama. But again, NO ONE ON KARASUNO CAN DO WHAT HINATA DOES. Even from start. And that is DUE to Hinataâs own TALENT.
Cause clearly YOU havenât read the series if you think theyâre not a âduoâ yet you hypocrite!
