- I have (mostly) solved the mystery behind the three crystals we are shown in MLP G5. Who made them, why, what their purpose is, how they work, and many other things.

All the fighting would have caused the Windigos to reawaken. So sealing magic away would have stop them as well. Since they were purely magic based.

Sorry, that's just what came to my head when I read that. But yeah, I could see that actually being a possibility if removing windigos saves more lives than it takes.
See I don't think Windigos would have happened to these groups. When the Windigos appeared back in Hearth's Warming Eve times the ponies actively hated and basically exploited each other. In this time period though, you don't have that. They fear the other races but they are all more in the attitude of "Just stay in your area and we'll stay in ours." Not near as bad as back when Windigos roamed.

I think otherwise, I think twilight gave up her alicorn ship to protection Equestria, since both wings & unicorn, is what makes an “alicorn”, it would make sense for twilight to understand that if friendship could not possible continue after her reign then, there needed to be some type of backup plan, which was the crystals.
The reason why I say this? Think about back during G4 when Celestia gave Twilight a device to control the sun and moon through magic, so what if those crystals where different parts of twilight such as her wings, and unicorn were in those crystals representing the 3 pony tribes.

My question after this is what happened to Flurry Heart? After Celestia and Luna went to their vacation and Twilight took the role as Ruler of Equestria, Flurry Heart and Cadance still exist. So, what happened to them, it most likely that something similar to Twilight or something must've happened to both Cadence and Twilight one way or another. But, even then Flurry Heart exist, so what happened truly.

In the station in Zepher Heights, the lighthouse was on a poster for Maritime Bay. I think that lighthouse has been there a LOT longer than Argile and Sunny
Now the question is: Who built it?
I think this is what happened.
Due to having so many creatures coming something unexpected happened. A virus. It only effected unicorns first. Accidents started happening causing fear and panic. Eventually the virus mutated into effecting Pegasus and earth ponies. Due to equestria being in turmoil the other left. And each race blamed each other.
Twilight couldn’t solve this problem so she had to make a chose. And told her friends that all the magic of Equestria is in these crystal. Unicorn, Pegasi and earth ponies. Never ever separate them. And few days later they find twilight’s body. Rainbow, applejack and rarity fight. But the explosion of the breaking apart ends them. And each crystal goes to their tribe.
They all freak out because the magic was gone and so was the princesses.
Remove magic so technology can advance would be a reason. Would be cool if there was a tech villain that's anti magic.

In Little Witch Academia, there was an antagonist witch that believed that magic was a thing of the past and it was time for technology to take over. It would be interesting if we saw something like that in MLP!
Not to mention, that in case of magic, mostly unicorns could use it (so many spells!) while when it comes to technology, it's for everyone
Love the theory… but as everyone else I had my own. After Twighlight, Luster Dawn was the successor. All of Twighlight’s friends passed away (Luster Dawn even had a Sun cutie mark). Due to her friends passing (no more main 6) Twighlight retired and passed the throne to Luster Dawn and her friends. They tried to follow Twighlight’s example, and release Cozy Glow from stone to reform her (Like Celestia did with Discord). However, the new main 6 failed/ she just pretended that she reformed. Cozy glow succeeded this time/ she made all the pony races hate each other by spreading rumors. The Windegos came back, and other creatures like the changelings left Equestria. Someone (like Twighlight or Luster) removed magic until pony kinds came together again in order to save everyone from the windegos. With magic gone, and Cozy Glow became most liked, however with the races separated, the was only liked by her kind the Pegasi. Therefore she became the queen of the Pegasi. Pipp and Zipp are her descendants!!! Her cutie mark was a chess queen. She served her purpose and won the game of chess.
I find that idea interesting, seeing as how Cozy Glow's original goal was to drain Equestria of it's magic, but in this scenario, one of the heroines would remove the magic.
Actually her cutie mark is a rook chess piece not a queen chess piece. When looking it up this is what I found.
'Because chess is a game of strategy, Cozy Glow's cutie mark, in regards to the rook piece, could mean that her special talent is dividing ponies against each other while gaslighting them to believe she is their friend.'

I wanna know about the crystals in bridlewood too, why are there so many, where did they come from, where are the other races now, did ALL magic get removed or just the 3 pony tribes, if so will we find medival Griffin and seapony tribes? Are ponies the only ones with technology, what is with the magic hoofprints of the foal at the end credits, why do the sun and moon move does discord move them, is discord still around.

Well, I can answer one of those questions.
I think the only magic that was removed was that of the ponies. They still had cutie marks, which tells us that there is still some level of magic. (or it's just another continuity error)
I think that each crystal was designed to remove a specific pony kind's magic. It's not that when combined they erase all magic, but rather, each of them plays a role in removing one specific pony kind's magic. I think this is why their designs are based on the three pony kinds.
If this is the case, all other magic in Equestria would remain.

@@Star_Strike Actually, if you look at the end of the movie the return of magic also impacts animal life. Magic has been drained for ALL species - which is one reason I think Twilight wouldn't have done this. Think of creatures that rely on magic to LIVE, like the changelings. This catastrophe would have either lead to their extinction, or mass famine for them.
Perhaps the crystals aren't meant to drain, but are meant to unlock something? Maybe all of the magic was trapped in the upper atmosphere by some outside force?
@@alyarin9000 Good point! I forgot about the other creatures. As for the magic being trapped and needed to be unlocked, it's always possible, but I don't see anything to really indicate that it was somehow trapped, and what exactly the crystals had to do with unlocking it. There are still a lot of unknowns.
@@Star_Strike From where I stand, the options are either all the magic was trapped in the crystals, all the magic was trapped in the atmosphere or the crystals literally CREATED magic (Twi WAS the one princess known to be capable of creating new magic, though at the same time, that required the elements AND a spell... Possible that she built that functionality into the crystals, I suppose...)
If the crystals created magic, that leaves the question of why magic was drained in the first place. Surely it wasn't a natural process, considering how important magic is for Equus's biosphere - much more draining and the world would have died.
I think that if not a fail-safe the Crystal is some sort of magic distribution thing hidden within the mountain alongside Canterlot. It's hard to describe. And maybe if war broke out, the Crystal would become unstable and break apart. That or someone else found it, accidentally broke it apart, and when magic disappeared everypony blamed each other, with the loss of magic being lost to history due to the mistrust.
I think the same, but in my opinion crystals are just that a device to find a successor the chosen one who will awaken the magic of friendship again
What I really wonder is if Twilight ever created another alicorn to take her place as ruler. Maybe she had too much trust in the 3 races so believed alicorns weren't needed anymore to maintain harmony. The crystals might've been created by her as a backup plan or by Flurry Heart after she realized Equestria was going to fall. It would explain why they're all crystals instead of other items
I think twilight was already gone when the crystals are made.... why is it only her cutiemark on the mirror and not her specifically?
I think the 3 crystals are used as a symbol or an offering to the now gone or missing princess Twilight.

I believe in this theory too. I'm kinda torn. From one part, it seems that twilight herself created those crystals. But from the other, i can't believe that twilight failed her alicorn duties. I literally have two theories, and i'm going to wait and see if all of this is twilight's fault or not.

i was also thinking about that , because what ever happened between the pony kinds must have been during twilight reign. because if not , the movie would of given us a hint that their was someone after twilight. but at the same time i don’t like to think about it because it will make me assume twilight failed. unless her along with the mane 6 got vanished to another dimension or got frozen in stone

Let's be real here, if they went into detail about all of the lore that explains people's questions, it would be half the film. In fact, I think the strategy is to intentionally leave some unanswered questions to keep people wondering and theorizing until the show comes out and explains everything.
But also, bonus theory: If you look at the crystals when they aren't glowing, you will notice something interesting. The earth pony crystal is clear, colorless, and has a lot more facets. If you look at the other two crystals, they are opaque, have a color, and have fewer facets. Also what is odd is where the earth pony crystal is found. It's found inside inside that projection lamp thing Argyle made at the beginning. There is also no stained glass window depicting it. That means that Argyle most likely had no idea what the crystal was when he found it. So, what if that's the point, to make one crystal look different than the other two and then purge knowledge of a third crystal, so any quest to unite the crystals would fail. Also, I'm pretty sure that the actual separation of the tribes and loss of magic took a LONG time, most likely centuries. Twilight probably ruled for centuries, got tired of it, passed down the throne to one of her students (not turning them into an Alicorn), and left somehow. Then some kind of dynastic decay occurs where each ruler gets progressively more corrupt and bad at their job until the entire kingdom collapses. Then, eventually, communities form of only one tribe, until the entire population is split by tribe, which also divides the borders. Then, as a safeguard, Twilight creates the crystals to keep them working together, with them being separated taking away magic. When animosity develops, they split the crystals, and, thinking the others took away their magic, they all go to war (What Sprout meant by "a battle" at the beginning). Obviously there is a lot more when it comes to Twilight's psyche and why she made those choices, but I'll leave it because I've wrote enough.
If the crystals really had magic in them, they would have reacted instantly once they were placed in the lighthouse. I think it was some sort of reminder of unity between every pony races until an unfortunate event that separated them. I think what brought magic back was when sunny talked to the unicorn, pegasi and earth pony about trusting one another while looking at her dad's pictures and Alphalittle, Queen Raven and Sprout's mom had put the photo frame together.
Maybe Twilight devised the crystals as part of a Xanatos Gambit move, due to realizing there was perhaps a hidden new enemy or some kind of tragic accident that caused all the problems in the first place, causing everyone's memories to be removed and something that she & the others couldn't defeat/resolve directly, perhaps it was something that could only be stopped (though probably not entirely) if magic was removed from the equation or something like that..? Also, I wonder if (based on some lovely behind the scenes artwork), even if Sunny's change is permanent or semi-permanent, is she really a true Alicorn or does she actually gain full Alicorn status later on..?

perhaps sunny's dad made the earth pony crystal as a gift for sunny but after past, sunny realized the crystal was from dad all along

Twilight made the crystals to remove magic so ponies could force themselves to team up again if they were desperate to have their magic again. Sunny being the one to only want friends and not magic is why she got her new look of representation, the stained glass shows that the crystals give back the ability to fly/use magic. The crystals would give magic back if the ponies teamed up and wanted magic back but sunny wanted friendship giving her the alicorn look.
My theory on the divide is that the stories of the past got twisted as they were told over and over. Look at how FiM ended and what Luster stated "Friendship is pointless" "Your friends aren't here anymore" "You're ruling alone"
She had assumed after Twilight became the ruler of Equestria that her friendships ended. Which wasn't true.
So what if all the stories of the things the Mane 6 accomplished got retold so many times, with minor changes each time, that it became a horror story?
Example:
"And Twilight and her friends saved the Crystal Empire from King Sombra."
"The Tyrant Ruler, King Sombra, was destroyed using the Magic of Friendship."
"A great burst of Magic destroyed Sombra."
"Sombra was blasted into a million pieces using Magic."
"Unicorn Magic was so strong it could destroy a pony in one blast."
Edit: I also think Sunny's Journal is the same Journal Twilight and her friends wrote their stories in. And just like the Bible irl, ponies viewed those stories as foal bedtime stories and not fact, not realizing the Mane 6 actually did those things. That's how Argyle made toys of the mane 6 out of wood for Sunny because he had references in that Journal to go by. Maybe even group photos.
Just as a question - did anybody think about the "sonic rainboom" what happens after the crystals united?
We have seen that before - and, surprise, there were even ponys who don't know eachother... And became friends throught this "magic element".
Yes, i speak from the "Cutie Mark Chronicles", as the mane 6 tell the CMC how they became theyr CMs. When we look a bit closer, both scenes are... Familiar with eachother.
Maybe in this part, there weren't a pegasus the one who initiated the sonic rainboom (no, there's no Dashie), here it was another point - it was a earthpony, who changed the direction of that. Then: the mane 6 became friends after the Sonic Rainboom, and here in G5, they choose to be friends and then the Sonic rainboom Happens. So i think, the crystals don't made for "removing" Magic - they are just something like the Twilicane, just things who look like artefacts.
Pinkie Pie said a sonic rainboom occurs when a pegasus flies so fast that she creates a rainbow and a sonic boom at the same time. That's not what happens when the magic is restored.
However, after Tirek is defeated at the end of season 4, we see a rainbow ring spread all over Equestria when magic is released from Tirek, and returned to the ponies. A rainboom looks similar to this event, but not quite. There are several small differences in design and behavior.
The rainbow we see in G5, is actually the same type of explosion of magic we see when Tirek is defeated.
There are a lot of people who don't notice this, and I can see why. They are extremely similar events, and the sonic rainboom is so iconic, that it's what most people will think of when they see something like rainbow created by the crystals.
I’m the scene where sunny is standing in front of the glass window it looks like a window is missing in the middle rectangle that window would be for earth ponies receiving magic or just earth ponies giving up their special connection to the earth with the earth pony crystal
That would be a good explanation Star. But I think at least one of the Unredeemables (My name for the team of Tirek, Chrysalis and Cozy) may have gotten free and made the pony tribes hostile towards each other again but not through hatred but through instead. Personally, I think one of them may have been the one to make the crystals cause I doubt Twilight would be able to. Unless she discovered a forbidden magic in Equestria that takes all the magic and solidify it into a crystal. But we can only speculate.
ya surely that spell has worn off by now if its been long enough for all the ponies to not know anything about twilight i estimate it must have been like what 2500-10000~ years considering that pony's didn't know much about nightmare moon i feel like the expiration date for knowledge without intense hard research is around that
Well, given their technology, they have firearms. And if they can use smartphones, they can use handguns like we do.
So they wouldn't need magic to cause massive casualties in combat.

Sunny is a great character, all her motivations came from her Dad. I feel sorry for her because both her Mom and Dad passed away but judging from the movie it seems she's coping very well. now that she's befriended Izzy, Hitch, Zipp, and Pipp she can be apart of a family again. I hope to see some heartfelt moments between her and her friends showing her that she's not alone
Sunny’s lighthouse was shown to be very old as there was an artist’s depiction of it in the room with the stained glass windows of the crystal. As to why there was a place to set all three, hundreds of years ago, traveling by sea and docking at night was extremely dangerous and thus lighthouses were created to help guide ships to the shore. Lighthouses are often used as a metaphor for a guiding light and beacon of hope and represents life and death, strength, and safety. I think that the Crystals used to act like a magnifier of the light from the lighthouse as a way to bring all Ponies closer together.

Well one big theory I had was a more dark reason. Perhaps she lived on past her friends and the pain of loss would cause her to turn against friendship to try and become midnight sparkle. Thus being the element of magic she would be to dangerous take on and so they sealed it away in order to defeat her. A coupe other things I noticed is that the crystals didn’t work since the lighthouse may well be used to focus the pony magic into the crystals, but once destroyed they could finally be activated. The other was that Sunny appeared to have been the only one to have come into contact with all three crystals. That’s just me reading to much into things.
I've been thinking the same thing. I think there was a massive catastrophe in Equestria which lead to casualties and pony kinds fighting for resources, so that could be the reason why only 3 towns remain of Equestria and why Twilight stole everyone's magic. But I think one earth pony saw what Twilight did and new the truth and could have made the crystals stand in Sunny's house, it could probably be her ancestor and would explain why Argaille taught her about ponies being friends, because their famy knew what really happened
When the rest of the elements died that's why, couse everyone knows alicorns are immortal while dragons are just long living and I think the Lost of twilight's friends coursed that to happen

Somehow, this theory works. And yet, I don't think Twilight would do that. Or, at least, not like that.
It does seem a little bit out of character for Twilight, and I would think she would be able to reunite all creatures, but this movie has already shown they aren't the best at following continuity. That, or they have a lot of explaining to do in order to keep everything consistent with the lore and story.
Or maybe, ponies started fighting eachother because of a villain. I don't think that under twilight's rulership, ponies started hating eachother for no reason, but rather, a villain caused them to fight. We saw how easy it is for the villains to convince ponies to fight eachother.
Maybe this villain somehow made the ponies fight eachother, and he/she was so strong that not even twilight and her friends could defeat him/her. I believe that twilight's and her friends lost the battle, so the mane 6 created these crystals with the magic of friendship, and removed magic from equestria, causing this villain to lose.
But after twilight and the others passed away (and i believe that without magic, alicorns have a normal lifespan, and even with magic they can live for a couple of thousands of years, not forever), the ponies started fighting again because there was no alicorn ruler, and after the war (A character in G5, i don't remember who, says that a big war against the other ponykinds occurred), they chose to live separately and never make contact with eachother ever again to avoid causing another war.
I've got a theory of what had happened to Canterlot.
On the map in Sunny's book in the movie we can see a drawned map of Maretime Bay, Bridlewood and Zephyr Heights, but.. when we look at our old beloved Equstria map, we can see similarities in Zephyr Heights and Canterlot.
Zephyr Heights can be where Canterlot used to be. On the map of Sunny, we can see a mountains behind, a little hills that could be used as fields. And a river. When you look on the G4 map, the things are there. The mountains on G5 map could be mountains that are named Foal Mountains.
Zipp showed a balloon landing station that was used pre-G5. They could make a balloon station because they decided to make a view spot to show Equestria. You know all these mountains view places in some countries on Earth. So maybe they thought of something like this to Canterlot, and due to the fact that it was a capital city of Equestria, they had to make it bizarre and gorgeous looking. Cuz the tourism grew bigger they decided to make even more buildings and infrastructure where the view platform was made. Some ponies even decided to move and live there and so on. Maybe when Cloudsdale fell from the sky, due to something catastrophical event, all pegasi who were living in cloud city, decided to search for some place that was in similar height as Cloudsdale to still feel the impression of city in clouds. They heard about the platform and wanted to live there, but ponies who already were living there they didn't want to let them be there. The spot would be overpopulated, so pegasi who didn't have their home as Cloudsdale started to fight for place to live. They won and brushed off ponies who lived there perviously.
They rename the place to Zephyr Heights and continue living there with her own mayor, and later develop a new monarchy in Equestria.
That theory actually gives Twilight a perfectly moral reason to seal magic away. There's a lot of speculation that somehow she ended up switching magic off, somehow, and the fandom dreads the possibility of turning her into what Luke Skywalker turned into in The Last Jedi.
But this theory is different from that; it's not Twilight's fault she had to seal magic away in this version.
As silly as it may seem, I wonder about chancellor Neigh Say because of his tendency to be skeptical having the potential to be beneficial. Twilight is the princess of friendship, so her cutie mark can be present to represent the concept in art. (The tree of harmony took on her form to the students at the school, so it's really not that far of a stretch.) The chancellor was able to see the power of friendship helping ponies in the season 4 wrap up, however, ponies also doubted each other when things began to look grim, and it took a rallying of students to get them back on track. Since the chancellor mentioned the idea of artifacts having the strongest magic and there are multiple examples of them storing magic over very long stretches of time (the pillar's items, Grogar's bell, queen Chrysalises' throne, the tree of harmony), he may have felt the need to gather a small amount of magic from different tribes to inspire future ponies to stay on track by having the artifacts show what is possible with uniting the tribes (Sunny temporarily turning into an alicorn would have been the result, since alicorns are the physical representation of the tribes working together)
Tirek believed he could address the Windigos before they got out of control, so there may be alternative ways to at least restrain them somewhere before the weather was permanently affected.
I think the lighthouse was Twillights new home. If she really gave up ALL her magic to create the cristalls, it is possible that she turned into an earth pony. She moved to maretime bay, build the lighthouse and create this place for the cristalls, so someone in the future will bring back magic. So maybe, maybe Sunny is a descendent of Twillight and this is the reason, why only her familie still believed in the friendship between all ponys. 🤔

There is a theory that Argyle could be a descendant of Twilight in a way or another.
Flurry heart is also Twilight's niece so yeah...
But honestly Argyle being a descentant of Twilight really really like far descendant of Twilight's. It would also explain why it decided to search on that stuff and all the stuff he has.

This could mean that Twilight became a villain worse than Cozy, Tirek, Chrysalis, Discord, and all of the others combined...
She might have. I sincerely hope that isn't the case though. That would probably be the most effective way to ruin her character.
@@Star_Strike Maybe after the loss of so many friends over the years (Not just the old Mane Six. She probably had hundreds of other friends who she knew their whole lives. She saw them be born, live, and die while she just kept going), she became colder and crueler. She started distancing herself from others to avoid the pain of losing them.
In turn, Equestria began to reflect the change in its ruler. Mistrust and hate started to fester. That in turn fed into Twilight's disillusionment.
The tragedy is that Twilight couldn't see how _she_ was causing the situation to deteriorate. At least not until it was too late.
But she still had three real friends left, who eventually showed her how she had gone astray. A Pegasus, a Unicorn, and an Earth Pony.
At some point, Twilight had made the crystals as a kind of failsafe (as some have theorized) but also as a method of control. (Remember Cozy's line "Is it... control?". Clever me. :P)
By this point, the Wendigos are tearing Equestria apart. Mistrust and hate are rampant. There might even be a Civil War raging. With the help of her three friends, Twilight finally comes to her senses, but it's too late to set things right. Their only option is to separate the crystals and take away magic. So that's what Twilight does. Then she entrusts the three crystals to her friends, with instructions that they can't be put back together until friendship can be restored.
Then Twilight disappears. Going into exile. What became of her after that is unknown, but the three ponies took the crystals and went their separate ways.
@@82dorrin I think that story would work, but only if G4 was never made.
The problem is that we spent over a decade getting to know Twilight, and her story. To have all her character development and achievements undone just so we can have a story about a divided Equestria, is just wrong. It undermines and takes everything we spent years getting invested in, and throws it out the window in favor of this new story.
Again, the story you presented would work, if fans were not already invested so heavily into G4.
@@Star_Strike This would all happen well after G4 ended. Centuries, probably. It doesn't undo anything Twilight did. Equestria still had a long era of peace and friendship even after the Mane Six all passed away. Twilight's disillusionment was a long, slow process.
It's not like Luke in The Last Jedi, where we're supposed to believe that he'd attempt to murder his nephew while he's sleeping because of a bad dream. Then he just abandons everyone and everything to become a mopey old hermit.
I totally agree that it would be a believable downfall for her, but thats not the problem.
Even if it happens over the course of centuries, or even millenia, it's still Twilight, and seeing her go down that road would hurt to a lot of fans no matter how long it took for her to get that way.
She may have had a thousand years to change, but we have not had that long to stop caring about her.
What happened to Discord? Wasn't he a embodiment of chaos? And how long did he survive without making any chaos? Could chaos bring him back OR make a new discord? I just hope that he isn't dead. But I wouldn't be surprised that he did something to his immortality in the hopes of saving Equestria. I have three theories as to why magic was missing
1. They are rebooting mlp
2. Twilight went insane from outliving her friends and became evil.
3. She lost faith in friendship after outliving her friends and seeing the kingdoms go back to square one
I guess we have to wait for the special to come next year to get more answers and questions on what happened to it

Interesting theory. I have one about why magic disappeared too. So no friendship no magic. But why friendship disappeared? First, I thought there's really some war but then I thought about what Sunny said in ZH 'it's like everypony just forgot'. What if they really forgot that? What if someone made them forget everything? By using.. memory stone! I know it was destroyed but Sunny's dad had it in their house. What if he (or his ancestor) years ago somehow make another memory stone and accidentaly removed memory of friendship between pony races and he was the only to remember. And all his life he tried to find a way to fix it but didn't know how, especially without magic? Maybe he wanted to tell Sonny later but passed before he could.
Or what if twilight went insane afternoutliving her friends and seeing the tribes go back to square one again after all her hard work caused her to lose faith in friendship and become evil forcing her to be defeated or maybe her stealing the magic and lcoking it away
either that, or the treehouse of harmony made the crystals. the elements of harmony in g4 were used to show that no matter how you act or what you like, you could still be friends. twilight probably still did create the crystals, but only to allow earth ponies to enhance their own magic. the treehouse might have used it to store all magic inside the crystals, and the magic inside controlled the sun and moon and weather and land changes. so basically, it sucked up the magic so it could not be used for anything other than literally keeping the world working.
The lighthouse was probably the place where the crystal drained Pony Magic. Or that where they were made.
FINALLY Everyone is so quick to rush everyone to accept G5 that they literally shoved it in my face to move on when I can't- I just can't. All I really wanted was answers to why everything happened and why no one is talking about this. Thank you.

This theory is almost exactly like mine, only difference is that I think all the alicorns came together 2 create the 3 gems and that's y there aren't any other alicorns around, also sunny becoming an alicorn is my "proof" the alicorns probably thot who ever can bring everyone together again should be the new queen and as proof of said accomplishment they shall become an alicorn so no one can deny their right 2 the throne

I've always just wondered, isn't these crystals like just another form of the elements of harmony? Like in gen4, the elements was split into 7 since most if not all races of pony is already united, and just need the 7 aspects of harmony to keep them together, while in gen5 it would be useless to apply the 7 aspects since the ponies arent even united in the first place. So the elements of harmony changed forms to better suit the required harmony which is the unification of all ponykind. Im just basing this of since its sort off obvious with the all the gem, and spinny around the pony using them and causing rainbow magic yada yada, who knows

I fan-ficed it to be the exact opposite. The loss of magic across Equestria caused rampant blame and accusations to spread. No pony wanted to be anywhere near ‘them’ anymore (obviously it’s all ‘their’ fault) and the bad feelings and negative propaganda drove them further and further into isolation.

So Twilight would be cool with thousands of Pegasi raining down to their deaths? Or did she compensate by slowly draining power so that they fall gently? I had this problem with Cozy Glow. She was seemingly cool dooming her entire race to death while losing her own ability to fly all to make friendship the only power left.
Entire cloud cities crumbling, the sun and moon doing something or nothing? Twilight would risk disrupting the entire nation of Equestria leaving them vulnerable to attack by other nations just to prevent a civil war?
Also the stain glass is indeed depicting Unicorns and Pegasi with the Earth Pony either lost or intentionally removed. The horns and wings are highlighted just for effect. Otherwise, we would be looking at two Alicorns like Sunny was in the end.
As far as the lighthouse goes. If you look at where the table where the crystal sits is right below some kind of magnifier. I think sunny's Ancestors may have been entrusted with the lighthouse and the earth pony crystal. To create the beacon to bring back magic when all pony kinds could be friend with one another again. However so much time had passed the stories had been lost and just the items remained. Hence the reason Sonny's father was interest into what had happened in the past and what could possibly be a new future. Think about it. Do you see one boat in the whole movie. Why do they need a lighthouse at all? That is what I think. Any thoughts?

Just like how celestia gave twilight the kingdom of equestria to rule twilight also gave luster dawn equestria as she was a very bright and close student to twilight. but like twilight , luster was not interested in friendship and after she got the crown and power, she ruled very unkindly and made everypony slave!!!
She wanted all the magic for herself so she wanted to be the only Princess and unicorn in the universe, so she killed cadence and took all the magic of crystal ponies and that magic was in solid form in crystal form, because they were crystal ponies. She was also did not wanted to give magic to any other creature so she broke relations with any other creature. Luster took that crystal and absorbed all the magic of all kind of ponies in the crystal.
But one day she saw that a unicorn was learning magic very well and that pony even get his cutie mark in magic , she was afraid that somepony will go more magical than her and the only way to destroy the magic was to remove friendship and harmony from all kind of ponies so she created disharmony but it does not go as expected the crystal got separated and she did not even had the alicorn wings she tried to make them friends again but it was of no use.
She tried to get help from some other creature but they denied to help as no one dared to go in cold equestria.

It's hinted at in the movie that there was likely some kind of war, or at least one massive battle. Sprout brings this up in the beginning of the movie, and it's likely that when magic disappeared, the pegasi took over Canterlot and renamed it to Zephyr Heights.

Technically, Sunny isn't a real alicorn. She's still a earth pony with alicorn magic she's still able to have earth pony magic like the rest of them since her wings and horn aren't there most of the time seeing her as just a earth pony

I think that This theory could be true but you are taking about twilight even if she is grown up she acts and work the same but even if they are not made by twilight but it could have some how involved the mane 6 including twilight so who made these crystals of course! The tree of harmony if you see twilights cutie mark is also in the tree so because of the pony kinds separating the spirit of the tree made those crystal from the sactered peices of the elements of harmony and made these crystals to unite the pony kind and stored the magic pulling capacity and when the pony kinds were filled with fear and false gossip the tree lots hope and sucked the magic let the crystal separate and the crystals gone to the separated ponies and this is my theory of the crystals
