7:25 The movie does lampshade this. The 3 cloning pods that are brought are from storage. If he brought one of the ones that were being actively used in the lab their disappearance would have been noticed right away and someone might start asking questions. Though, your point about just using one of them a second time still stands.

Call the police, tell them that your boss has become crazy and kidnapped your family and thinks that they are clones.
Yeah, if they are clones they are indistinguishable from the real bodies, since the deaths were never reported, they never dissapeared so the boss man went mad with power, and it's a plausible out while taking down the guy that wanted to weaponize the tech in the first place

Keanu looks noticeably pissed in some scenes, like he’s not happy that he’s in this movie.

Reeves didn’t just act in the movie, he had his hands in producing the movie too. He must have lost money on it. Also the number of people spreading misinformation... Reeves girlfriend miscarried (stillborn) their baby then later after they had broken up, no longer together, she died in a car accident. He never married her.

When I was watching replicas I found myself thinking "this feels like a bad Nicolas Cage movie." Then I checked the IMDb trivia and lo and behold originally it was supposed to be but even Nic Cage turned it down. Even though he is known for having so much debt he has to take every project pitched to him. That's a bad sign.

Quite honestly, during brainstorm sessions or problem solving sessions, it isn't uncommon to go over the entire process out loud to your coworkers. They might not be involved in every process, or they can realise that some of their work might not be compatible with something down the line or requirements that were changed or possibilities that were changed or overlooked. I sometimes even do this on my own and hearing yourself talk out loud, weirdly does work. It has even be proven to work.

No one seems to understand that this movie is a parody, a comedy that makes fun of not only Sci-fi movies but of Keane Reeves himself. Reeves knows this. When looked on in that light, it's really is a good movie🙂🙂

Gingy Gary So we should forgive every bad written piece of story in movies because it’s “fiction”? Movies still have to follow the rules they set in place even if they’re fantasy. Otherwise it’s just bad writing. A great example of this is Black Mirror. That show does a great job balancing fiction with reality.

Aniara was such an interesting movie, I was shocked when I saw you recommended it here! I had shown my mom previously and she loved it.
Honestly, leaving the memories of the crash intact makes some sense in the story. The way I see it, if the clones are having trouble adjusting to their bodies, have memory issues, or would react poorly to the modifications, they would believe that it was due to injuries from the crash.
EDIT: I apologize for assuming the best out of the movie. After seeing what happens at the end of the movie, that makes no sense. Sorry about that.
