    Thanks for sharing your kit. The few suggestions I could make involve no adding or subtraction to your kit. First is pre-thread your sewing needle with a good length of thread since threading a needle when you're shivering, have numb fingers, or just slightly incapacitated mentally or physically, is nearly impossible. The other big thing I would change is putting that signal mirror and whistle at the top of your kit making them more readily accessible since if you're in a real survival situation, the search and rescue is going to be immediately after you were reported missing, and you don't want to be digging through your whole kit for the whistle or mirror.
    I have experience in both making and using these kinda kits. If you'd like any more suggestions or help in planning a kit, I'm more than happy to help.

    I like the idea of attaching small items to the inner part of the lid with electrical tape & the sharpening stone is handy!

    if you throw a ziptie horizontally around the button mechanism to keep it from accidently releasing the gas. might just save your life
