    This video is to just get myself and anyone unfamiliar with the basic details of Veronaville established as we begin out gameplay of it! I am very excited to see where this town goes!

    In Shakespeare, Regan, Goneril, and Cordelia are the daughters of King Lear, so yes, they are royal.

      Interesting! Thanks for the info, maybe I will have to so some more research on Shakespeare stuff for this gameplay.

    Sundog Sims: "And they were all Hermia 😉"
    Me: "omg... they were all Hermia...😲"
    *X-Files theme starts playing*
    Lol sorry couldn't help myself, had to write it out once I saw it. Also can't wait to see what drama the Veronaville kids throw at you. Even before I installed ACR those little rascals always kept me on my toes with their free will and wants, since the day I first got The Sims 2 😆

      lmao! I think I know where I screwed up but honestly just laughing so hard rn, thanks for bringing it up I had no idea. I am gonna try to fix it and replace the file if it will let me. But yes, super excited for some Veronaville drama!

    Oh wow those Prima Guide tutorials are so nostalgic for me! I used to just sit and obsessively read the Prima guide as a kid, and I always thought you HAD to do everything just like they told you and would never deviate from their directions. Haha
    I think that Consort can't get mad at Romeo because one of the later EPs disabled the annoy/fight/etc type interactions between adults & teens (who knows why, maybe they thought it wasn't appropriate for parents to be able to slap & fight their kids.) There's a mod that restores it somewhere.

    • @SammySundog
      @SammySundog  Před 2 lety +2

      omg that's too funny about following the Prima guides - I didn't seen them until a year or two ago, as a kid I never knew they existed! And good to know about those interactions, thanks!

    This is such a fun series thus far! I have to admit, I had to get used to seeing Tybalt without red hair (as it's so iconic to his fiery temper) haha.
    But Tycutio is definitely a route I always walk and my Veronaville is always filled with a ton of tragedy. ;) Even now some of the main characters are sadly deceased.

    • @SammySundog
      @SammySundog  Před 3 lety +2

      Yea after I started I sort of missed the classic red headed Capps - Maybe Tybalt can experiment with hair dye in college haha. I hope this play through will be full of lots of Shakespearean drama/tragedy! and glad you are enjoying!

    I just restarted Veronaville and I'm so excited to find this!
    I did something similar with the Summerdreams, where I made them over while still keeping their fairy-roots to their looks. I have some CC from some fun sims that worked perfectly. And since Titiania wants go adopt often after her and Oberon get married, I did end up creating the fairies from A Midsummer's Nights Dream and plopped them into the adoption pool. I'm gonna stick with them being a family of supernatural faries.

    This is exciting! I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this neighbourhood. Titty-ana cracked me up 😂 I know some players use mods to make the Summerdreams into actual fairies, although I've never tried it myself. Are you going to involve that kind of supernatural aspect to it, or will you keep it more anchored in reality? Thanks for sharing another wonderful video!

    • @SammySundog
      @SammySundog  Před 3 lety +5

      lmao, yea in editing I looked harder at how her name was spelled and was like... uh I think I am saying this very wrong...
      But yes I think I am gonna look into installing any fairy mod I can find, I don't know a lot about how it works but I have seem something floating around about it, I think it would be fun to have things a little "mystical" and not so realistic.

  • @Endemitor
    @Endemitor Před 3 lety +8

    Veronaville is definitely my favorite so thank you for this. In my game Tybalt and Mercutio always end up together but that's probably the most popular pairing cause they usually have very high chemistry together. I also make Titania, Oberon, Puck and Bottom (and by the way grown up Bottom is the most beautiful sim ever) fairies with midge the tree mod. Also, originally all the Summerdreams are bi so they are all awesome. I usually pair up Bottom with Desdemona Capp. Also, Kent Capp is originally gay but his option in this town are really limited so I usually make someone in CAS for him. Can't wait to see how are you gonna play them!

    • @SammySundog
      @SammySundog  Před 3 lety +1

      I am really excited to dig into this town! Yes I want to look into that Fairy mod, and I really like the Tybalt x Mercutio pairing (I see it around tumblr a lot) I might have to be more "heavy handed" in making it happen though, not sure it would happen organically. I think the biggest challenge for this town is finding a way to have plenty of sims for pairings!

    • @Endemitor
      @Endemitor Před 3 lety +1

      @@SammySundog yeep lack of sims there is definitely a problem especially with second generation xd, I like to add Riverblossom Hills and move sims from there to Veronaville, mostly to Montys side (also kattaty has awesome builds for for Vernaville but you would have to clean them out of sims references before placing) buut any other subhood would work probably and also sims from unis are also great option

  • @chuugomes
    @chuugomes Před rokem +1

    hey sammy it's me here in the comment section of a 1 year old video lol but i wanted to share that veronaville actually was the reason why i kind of fell in love with shakespeare. goneril, cordelia, albany, cornwall and regan are characters from the novel king lear, in which the lear the king is betrayed by their own offspring, his daugthers goneril and regan (goneril and regan are also in love with the same men, that is not their husbands - the drama). while kent is actually a loyal servant of the king that unmasks the truth for lear, in veronaville he is portrayed as their brother.
    the midsummer night's dream was a play originally written for a wedding, in the story is about messy fairies that love to trick eachother and somehow humans end up being trapped in this mischief. besides the summerdream family, hermia is also the main character in this play!

    I LOVE Veronaville but the pairing is horrible, I always have to add some sims so I don’t end up with everyone being second cousins.
    As a Person of literature i like to get my inspiration from other novels, it’s quite funny to see their fit in the settings of Veronaville

    • @SammySundog
      @SammySundog  Před 3 lety +1

      That sounds like an interesting way to do it! Unfortunately I am not knowledgeable enough in literature to do that, but I will come up with some kind of way add some diversity to the gene pool.

  • @arinaarinza
    @arinaarinza Před rokem

    I don't get why you would do the whole genetically correct thing. It's like you place more value on the dead (side)sims that maxis probably made in like 5 minutes since they were gonna be dead anyway, instead of the alive (main)sims that maxis worked hard on and tweaked and polished to perfection in order to give them all their own distinct (and iconic) look. It makes absolutely no sense to me, but it's your game so you do you.

    • @SammySundog
      @SammySundog  Před rokem +2

      Hi there! I think it's valid to not like the genetically correct sims and I def get your reasoning. The reason I like them is because the original premades are not actual genetic children of their parents and I don't like that. I prefer to know the genetics of my sims are being carried down from the top of the family tree into future generations. Also in some cases, like Strangetown & Pleasantview, I have played the originals so much I got bored with their looks. In retrospect however I wish I had made my first playthrough of Veronaville (which is this series) use the original premades. Regardless, I have grown to love all the little Veronavillians!

    • @arinaarinza
      @arinaarinza Před rokem

      @@SammySundog Oh, I see. I guess I understand it a bit more now. I'll probably grow to love these versions of the Veronavillians too as I watch the series.
