Absolutely the scenery reminds me alot of a Pacific Island. Hopefully I'll be back in Karamea after the winter and cycle part of the Heaphy Track this time round.

Sounds absolutely awesome!!!!
Wasn't too many Sand flys when I walked the Heaphy more down the Southern end of the island especially Jackson Bay and Milford Sound.

Did the Heaphy track in Dez. 82, the bloody sandflies almost killed me!
One of the best tracks ever was the Copland track, 83....relaxing in the hot springs half way, making love under the stars to a mature woman I only just met....😉.....I felt in heaven😊
At the time I was a PhD student from Germany, just 24, studying in Oz.
Great times....great memories!
