@Sam K I personally think Matt Ryan set the modern standards of what Constantine should look like. I watched the show before the movie and kept thinking I would see Slick back hair and a trenchcoat buy I get a guy in a funeral suit. Also I think Matt Ryan is cuter if I'm honest
Keanu did emaluate some of the character traits, and that's just it. Matt Ryan is the definitve version of John Constantine, he nailed almost every aspect, including being much more amoral, sassy and annoying. And he's actually British. All of what Constantine was in the comics.

If you're talking about the doctor passing out, I would pry to if I suddenly woke up and saw that thing about to eat me. If you wanna say it's not in tune with the real world, that's kind of a no shit statement. If you read the hellblazer comics then you can see why they can't make it fully in tuned with the real world, Keanu reeves did an amazing job no cap. However, this one is more in tune with the comics, if anything Keanu didn't do a good job on constantine, but did an amazing job on just acting in general. Where here, constantine is the mist accurate to his comic part.
This guy; Matt Ryam, literally became a reference for "new face" of comic Constantine and VA of DC Animation Constantine. . I know Keanu is good, but his fans usually see Keanu as a perfect actor for everything.
