Dude put a cover over the exotic pond Most of the heat is lost through the surface when gas exchange happens, just a cover of any sort will do fine. Hope this helps :)

Redneck Reid with deeper water, the turtles would be fine because the deeper it is, the more insulation. Since the pond is so shallow, all of the water will be the same temp as the air, and since the turtles are young, it is just too big of a risk
You should research turtle hibernation. It's actually necessary and normal. They will fare well in cold weather. They know what to do naturally. I have box turtles that shut down in October until May. It doesn't hurt to put leaves or mulch over their hibernation spot.

You should buy a plot of land then make indoor ponds and outdoor ponds. And even make like a baby turtle room for winter and have a turtle habitat outside.

If it is an aquatic turtle, do not feed them out of the water, they do not produce saliva and will choke if they are fed out of the water
