- At the turn of the 20th century, nothing delighted sophisticated New Yorkers like a Wild West show. In April of 1905, the Wild West show performed at Madison Square Gardens to a packed house. Then, something unexpected happened. Found out more in this episode of Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story."

We suffered a great loss when Paul Harvey passed. I'm 75, and I watched and listened to him for years.
I'm 52 and I've been listening to him for almost as long as I can remember. He was a staple for a lot of people for a lot of years.
Will Rogers was a great loss !! 🤢
I agree completely. :)
Thank you, Brad. Wonderful as always. God bless. TFS
Thank you for the kind words. :)
I went to the theater a lot and the best play I ever saw was The Will Rodgers Follies. I laughed and was amazed and came out crying. ❤
I've never had an opportunity to see it. :)
An incredible story for an incredible life!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I knew very little about Will Rogers until I began this research. I have a new appreciation for him. :)
@@BradDison True that
Will Rogers, emblematic of the spirit of America, was a giant of a man. Sad that, like many others, he is largely forgotten Today. More's the pity...
You're right. He is largely forgotten. It is sad. :)
Icon, legend, friend, Patriot, beyond reproach,,... Only two Earthly People come to mind. Paul Harvey and Billy Graham.
You're right. :)
Yeah, my introduction to Will Rogers was through actor James Whitmore back in '72 in the "Will Rogers USA" play that was televised. I was so mesmerized with the performance. I can't imagine what it would have been like to see the legend, himself.
I think Whitmore's portrayal of Rogers made HIM legendary! I believe it would take at least several days to visit all the LA area attractions with the name "Will Rogers" attributed to it. You pick such interesting subjects out of Harvey's endless bag of goodies.
I've never seen the televised play. I'll have to look it up. I'm glad you enjoy the ones I select. :)
Thank you for this !! ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Awesome Video Brad. I wanted to point out at Claremore OK. The Will Rodgers Memorial is also the Museum. Every room in the museum is another era of his life. From the time he was born to the time he died and afterwards. If I remember correctly there was even a place where you could sit and listen to him talking about people. When he was on stage and in his newspaper column, he never attacked anyone. he made fun of everyone in a funny way. Even the people he was talking about would laugh. If anyone is ever in OK northeast of Tulsa is Claremore OK, just off Interstate 44. It is well worth a visit to the museum. Brad, I seem to almost always give more information on your page I hope you forgive me.
That's right about the museum. I plan to visit. If I do, I'll make a video out of it. I love that you give information. I always learn from your comments. Please keep them coming. :)
@@BradDison Thank you. I like helping when I can.
Brad, you continue to amaze! I have not watched one of your "The rest of the Rest of the Story" that I didn't like. Some I already knew about, but you added parts that I didn't.....some were complete learning experiences. Keep up the good work! Will Rogers is one of my favorite, being a Sooner and all.
Wiley Post is an interesting character himself. His grave is in a little cemetery, Memorial Park Cemetery, just south of Edmond, OK.
Thank you very much for those kind words. You made my day. :)
Thank you!
Thank you as well. :)
Will Rodgers was a wise and witty man. The world lost a truly unique individual when he died.
I agree completely. :)
What a great story . Thanks
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Good show, Brad. Thanks!
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
One of you talented younger people should carry the torch. Educate and entertain with historical knowledge 🇺🇲
I agree completely. :)
I was waiting for him to get to the end and say it was Will Rogers.
You guessed this one? You're good. :)
I've been to Oklahoma ,I'm frome N C and if I ever get the chance I will go back again ❤
I've been by it numerous times but never stopped. I'm planning a trip. :)
Cool!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Airplanes, when piloted well, are very safe.
Until they aren't.
They are completely islands in the sky, and they either work or they don't.
Luckily, they usually do anymore.
I've always been a fan of aviation. I piloted the first plane I ever flew in. I was a student pilot and the instructor let me take off and fly it by myself. He landed it though. hahaha. :)
Interesting profile name, Smile Humter ! 🤠
Thank you. :)
Brad you probably could do modern
The rest of the story
I write a newspaper column similar to "The Rest of the Story." I've recorded a few episodes but they weren't very popular. lol. I may try again at some point. Thank you for the kind words. :)
@@BradDison sometimes it is the person you do not the presenter
Like in usa so many vlogs on election
But little tacky to say it Taylor Swift
Or other people who have following but are hidden in
People which are 1980s and 90s
:o)
Interesting profile name ! 🤠
I get it now. Hahahaha. I'm a little slow sometimes. :)
