VXF 12s are pretty nice, they definitely do the lows.. did a single one in a Jetta down there that does work. You should be very happy with them….
I just installed a sealed VXF 12 in my 2010 jetta! That thing hits nice and low.

I look forward to the trunk build. I've never quite understood why people put so many speakers in the cabin that play the same frequencies; it seems redundant. Even in new vehicles that have a lot of drivers, in any one area, the drivers are playing different frequencies. I've seen 4 drivers in a door, 1 in a kick, and 1 in a center console when 1 3way active set seems like it would be just as good. Is it just to be "louder"? At what point is there diminishing return?
the added midrange and tweets are so you can hear the mids and highs over the bass. in competition builds you'll see that a lot. They're also most likely running an eq to fine tune all those mids and highs. Daily driven cars don't really need it, but it's really all preference.

Use machine screws and t-nuts (hurricane nuts) to mount them subs bro. WAYYY stronger than wallboard screws
