New Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/GAEEK00028
This video shows you how to install a water pump and timing belt on your 2001-2007 Volvo V70. The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. Install a new engineered to fit water pump from TRQ for total peace of mind.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2001 Volvo V70
    2002 Volvo V70
    2003 Volvo V70
    2004 Volvo V70

There are some great videos of this service on CZcams. This is the most concise in my opinion. Thank you so much. I will be attempting this on my XC70 this weekend. Cheers.

Thank you for sharing this video, is the most clearest video I've ever watch a step by step how to change a timing belt. All the question in my mind I found it here. Thank you once again.👍👍👍

From what I have heard, the timing marks do NOT equal top dead Centre. It is a point where no piston is at the top of the cylinder at all, because of this you are able to rotate a camshaft 360° without damaging the valves. Hope this helps.

This is a wonderful video. Just wondering if it is totally necessary to remove the harmonic balancer? I've sen other videos where they don't do this during the timing belt change. Any comments are appreciated, thanks.

    Hi.
I've just finished renewal of timming belt, tensioner, hydraulic gizmo and roller. Serp belt.
I've worked on all makes of cars over the last 45 years and I can honestly say this was a pig of a job to do.
As we know cars are not made for home mechanic maintenance these last thirty years.
The main problem on volvo 850 petrol engine is the belt is almost impossible to fit with balancer in place.
It's also impossible to get cam pulleys lined up once the pin is removed from the hydrolastic piston.
They move back one tooth off the mark after two rotations of crank.
Therefore you have to outsmart the car by carefully turning both cam wheels one tooth to the right, towards the front of the car, in order to have all notches lined up after pulling the pin!
This I've found out by bitter experience.
I must say I had the same problem on my mgf after HG renewal last year.
Well, I hope this helps anyone out there facing the same job.
Allow at least six hours to complete the job.
    Great learning curve!!

i pour Coolant in the reservoir as the
engine is turned on but its not flowing
    down
So the reservoir just fills up and thats
    it
My car overheats after 5 minutes of
    driving!
Does that mean that the water pump
    is bad?
    Because radiator is not clogged
I already passed water from side to
side of the radiator and it flows
    through
Any body please help im new to

  • @Kevin-mp5of
    @Kevin-mp5of Před 2 měsíci +1

You’re not supposed to take off the harmonic balancer to change the timing belt, that’s what that little plastic cover is for. And any time to remove that you have to replace the four bolts with new ones and torque them properly because they are stretch bolts and should not be reused. Don’t just impact the old bolts and crank shaft nut on like this clown.

  • @workingTchr
    @workingTchr Před měsícem

Seeing all that's involved in this, I don't feel so bad now paying $1.6-2K to have it done.

    30:43 “nice and tight… just do your best…”. 🤦‍♂️
Torque specs are so overrated… not to mention those are stretch bolts and should never be reused… but hey, what do the engineers that designed this know… /sarcasm
