This game was literally my childhood. I remember always coming home to play on my dad’s ps3.
The sound design for BC2 was by far the best in the series despite lack of foot steps. Everything sounded punchy, 50cals were loud and 9mm was still loud but with much less gusto.

Yeah you definitely had footsteps. I vividly remember because I got one of the first surround sound headset from Logitech back then and it was a game changer! I had such an advantage over people with speakers or regular headphones. I remember testing out and having friends run around buildings and I could tell exactly where they were and when I did it to them they just heard footsteps but no direction feedback.

One thing I love in games like this, Ghillie Suit sniping in the middle of a warzone. And not THAT Warzone, since this kind of thing is very great in that game

BC2 is still one of my personal favorite Battlefield games ever made. You ask what the best thing about the game is; the maps. The BC2 maps were easily some of the best in the entire series.
Definitely my favorite. I lived in that game until BF3 came out.

Can we appreciate the thoughtful level design and the destruction that was possible about 10 years ago? Crazy how good the engine is and still looks sooo good. Oh and one nother thing. The lighting in-game no shitty dark corners while don't get flashed by sunlight. One of the best BF titles.

Can we kickstart a spiritual remake to this game? Nail the aesthetic, gunplay, and sound design. Mix in some epic new rush maps and you’d have a winner.

@Jake C I really hope they keep the really tight fight like bc2...if they put too many chopper, tanks and jets on valparaiso, it gonna ruin the game.
I remember at the time, the multiplayer trailer (squad stories 2) was the coolest thing I'd ever seen, I used to watch it over and over again. BFBC2 was an incredible game

8:45 when you equip an all class weapon as assault you get c4 in BC2
It was the best. C4 was my best tool. But didn't want to be stuck with one class
G3 + C4 + ammo box = win

BC2 Vietnam's sniping was crazy too. I remember the M40 getting one shot body kills with magnum ammo up to what felt like up to 30 meters, then again most of the weapons in Vietnam felt liked they more effective than the vanilla BC2 ones
I, to this day, play BC2 most evenings. What a game! played it to death back in 2010!

It was such a good game. Fond memories from my adolescence
I loved playing sniper on heavy metal. I was a complete noob in the beginning and I tried long range sniping. Could not hit anything at all. One time 4-5 enemies was getting closer and closer to the center flag we had controll over. And there was no way I could kill them. Our chopper flew right past them. I did the only thing I could and that was to spot them which I did. Then our chopper imidiatly turned arround and killed all of them. That was so amazing :D It was my first feeling of contributing and helping my team.
Can you imagine 100+ players on Heavy Metal? IT would be awesome

My favorite game of all time. I got so sick of MW2, I was rescued by Battlefield BFBC2 and Vietnam DLC. Id love to see more and if possible, Bad Company 3 someday. Keep rockin it steady Stodeh.

Assault gets C4 if they equip a gun that can’t be fitted with a under barrel grenade launcher.
I don't know if I was the first back in the day but certainly never saw anyone else put C4 on the MAV and fly it into the MCOM to blow it up and advance on without even arming it. Good times
That server is very modded, use to play with the admins years ago, Snipers get RPG'S, assaults get access to med kit also, vehicles are twice a fast and the repair tool instantly puts you back to 100%. Had some crazy games
My first BF... would play it every day after school. I loved sniping from the lighthouse, playing rush on that map with the crashed plane, and sniping across the islands. Oh and levelling buildings with the minigun, absolute banger

I still think the building destruction was the best in this game of all the BF games. Running around with the grenade launcher attachment and blowing holes in the side of homes was so good. And sniping, and rush
The sound in the game was amazing. And the hip fire was awesome. Game just felt so good. Loved sniping in that game but also the lmg medic was op class and even the noobtoob m8 and an94 melted people.
I mastered the noobtube in that game. I could drop it on top of someone hiding behind a rock or send it from across the field into a window. Such fun.
This isn't how i remember BC2 the one thing I remember loving about the sniping in bc2 was the over exaggerated bullet drop hitting long distance shots being so satisfying.

BC2 has the best audio feeling, you can sense the surrounding "Battlefield" through your speakers, the scripted quotes were a nice touch, the boosted explosions were satisfying, the echo of the gunshots and much more. btw I think the damage multiplier was tweaked a bit, or you were playing in a hardcore server
Bad company 2 did have the best sniping.
It seems people have forgotten that.
Even the rifles felt meaty
The game felt like it had some weight to it in a good way. Newer games are so floaty and arcade like Warzone.
I remember every single frame, every single brilliant sound of this unforgettable game.

BC2 was the Battlefield where i started to play as a sniper. Haven't had as fun in a Battlefield game after, as I had in Bad Company 2. The game also had some of the best maps in the series.

I'll never stop thinking BC2 is the best and funniest game I've ever played. Every aspect of it was great. Grafics, sound design, maps and gameplay design, weapons and veicles... everything. Just everything. I'd buy a remake instantly.
Oh man this game was so much fun. The gunplay was just amazing. I remember my favorite setup was also the M95 with the MP-412. Those slow reloads were just the best lol. I also loved the SCAR-L for some reason. Can't wait for 2042.

I god I always love the raw warfare ambience in this game from destruction, radio and weapons.
Greatest bf game ever made. Using m24 as a shotgun with red dot on isla and making people rage was the greatest of times.
Little know thing in bfbc2 is that you could shoot through the floor killing those above or below.
When showing a mate this i randomly shot at the area at the top of the stairs saying "if someone was camping this building they'd be laying around here" and fired. I head shot someone just doing that lol.

My mate got me into this game. Was the best battlefield game imo. None of the new ones have had the same feel
It’s the maps and game modes! feeling of the guns. The punch in the air of the gunshots. The blurring of the screen as bullet wiz by! I thought the game felt leather too with all the guns, rarely did I get the “how did I not get that guy” moment and that’s what makes a great fps shooter

For my money still the best multiplayer I've played. Hardcore squad death match was so much fun, amazing maps (except for the server emptying nighttime Arctic one-which was actually decent but people always bailed) and decent balance in the classes.
BF3 was so disappointing after it. Less destructability and pointless cannon fodder maps to draw in the cod players. Shame

My first Battlefield. Loved it.
But, I always felt like there was some sort of lag. Movement felt like you were moving through mud, and actions were delayed by a few milliseconds. Weird.

Generally I agree, it felt slower but it is actually something I enjoyed. Games now are super fast, running, sliding, jumping everywhere. This felt much more realistic

That first clip is on my favorite rush map of all time Laguna presa, we really haven't had anything like it in a long time and I hope they remaster it. Super epic jungle river assault like something from Vietnam, speaking of which I wonder if they give us stuff from bad company Vietnam?

Bad Company 2 is the only Battlefield that has a Rush mode that encapsulates both the feeling and the action of the word "Rush". The maps are made for Rush and it shows.

They just did sniping so right with the bolt action animation and just the feel and power of the guns. Half of the time playing I was sniping it was so fun.
