The Sun Is Low" - Ukrainian folk song of the family and household cycle. This is one of the versions of the song, best known as Peter's aria from the opera "Natalka Poltavka" (arrangement of words by Ivan Kotlyarevsky, music - Mykola Lysenko).
Natalka Poltavka was written by Ivan Kotlyarevsky in 1819 and staged at the Poltava Theater.
