    I make my own texture paste since it's much cheaper than any brand name. I keep a pot of white that I can color with reinkers or alcohol inks as needed. I love making backgrounds! The best thing about your channel is that you always show us what to do with the backgrounds

      I use Sam Calcott's recipe. 2 1/2 tablespoons white glue (cheap is fine), 1/4 c baby powder with cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon white acrylic paint. It will be thick.

    Definitely a great reminder to use my texture paste. I keep forgetting about it, and sincerely hope mine hasn’t dried up! Love those metallic paint pens over the top of the paste, as well as that gold border. Both cards look stunning, and I actually own that slimline Tim Holtz stencil, so now I have some inspiration on how to use it. Thanks so much Natasha, great job! 😃🩷

    What a good reminder about texture pastes. I realized I had a jar of Dreamweaver that is 20ish years old and was just going to toss it, but I opened it up and it was still good!!! I couldn’t believe it! I’m going to give it some love very soon. Your cards are simple and stunning, as usual!

    If you let the paste partially dry so that it is just a bit tacky but firm, you can add glitter or perfect pearls to it as well. Witht he pwerfect perals a quick spritz of water will set it and for glitter I either add fixative or hair spray

    Hi Tasha! I have a few pastes in my stash that are bordering on being antiques. When I used them last time (maybe a decade or so ago), I put plastic wrap over them, so I am hoping they aren't completely dried out. Beautiful cards!❤ thank you for sharing your talents!

      I hope you can work up the courage to just try and make something simple. Natasha encourages us to create and have joy! It doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s there for you to play with and enjoy! Every kids loves to draw, as adults we lose that and are our own worst critic. But we are meant to be creative! I’m wishing you happy crafty time! We don’t have to be perfect and can learn from trying! Sending much ❤️✨

      Don't be scared to make cards it's so much fun 😊 I've been crafting for many years now and I still get those cards which don't go right or look like a train wreck 😞 but that's okay as it's part of the learning process especially when trying out new techniques and ideas.
      Don't doubt yourself and I am sure that the cards you make will be amazing and beautiful 😊❤ just dive in and go for it xx

      I know where you are coming from, I have made cards that people have loved, I wasn't happy with them. I think we are our worst critics.
      Have a go, enjoy the journey while you can, unfortunately health issues sometimes prevent us from creating.

    • @donnahurder4665
      @donnahurder4665 Před měsícem +4

      Take the plunge! It's just paper!! I take pictures of everything I make, whether I like it or not, and am pleased to see the progress I have made in technique. Not to say I'm anywhere near good, but when I send the cards I get such a positive reaction from everyone that it makes it worthwhile. Noone sees the little mistakes, or big ones, they just enjoy the idea someone is thinking of them. As someone else said, we are out own worst critics .

    So whenever I use paste on my cardstock.. even if it’s 110.. it warps. I once used a watercolor cardstock to make a card front with paste on it, and after a few days, it warped the card base too. This happened despite using some strong foam tape 😒
