I'm a Swedish guy in his 30s. I remember seeing episode 1 when it aired, paused it mid-episode, bought the book and read that first. Probably one of my most emotional literary and cinematic experiences. Can't count the amount of times I've left an episode crying and scaring my fiance who thinks somebody just died.

Outlander i truly unique show. It's an epic with real scale. It blends history and myths and romance beautifully, but it doesn't shy away from the ugly or painful stuff either.

I LOVE that this show doesn’t shy away from the more heart wrenching realities of humanity cause I feel like too many people prefer bad things to be out of sight, out of mind and that is just not reality. Life doesn’t only have good things and people do suffer and shouldn’t ignore the bad because it’s tough to watch. Even though some people complain about the shows uglier historical realities, I personally adore their fearlessness.
I love the way you tried to resist thirsting for Jamie… then failed spectacularly. Because, same. 😂

This is one of those rare shows that immerses you in the scenery, storyline, characters and all that entails. Watching it makes you feel like you are truly there with them. It’s such a beautiful escape from reality. One of my favourite shows of all time ❤

Outlander is a very special series to me.
I had never heard of it before, never knew it was a book or a TV series. One day, during my European cruise, my family spent a day in Edinburg and was visiting the old castle when we come across a gift shop and there was the Outlander book, a thick paperback novel about half the size of my forearm. I thought it was interesting, so I bought the book and read the first chapter…then the second…then the third.
Our cruise was a week long spanning different parts of Europe-Scotland, England, France, Italy. My dad lost his wallet, my mom lost her phone, and my siblings lost their patience. But I never lost that book. Nor did I ever put it down for that matter! When the trip ended, I finished the book. There was…something satisfying about that.

I love Outlander so much and it's truly so special to me. I started reading the books when I was going through an extremely difficult time in my life and it helped me escape reality and got me through it. I can't believe there aren't more Outlander reactions on CZcams because it's such an amazing show as well!! I've rewatched the show a few times but I'm still gonna watch right along with you!!!!

Yes, something like this actually happens all over, not just in Scotland. Witchcraft, druidism, covens or groves, there are many groups that would celebrate Samhain in this way, especially around standing stones.
This was a pleasant surprise. One of my favourite live action shows, and one of my favourite book series. The cast are also my favourite out of the casts I've met.
4:38 For a book that's similar to that what comes to mind are Karen Marie Moning's Highlander book series. Most are kind of stand-alone books but there is a plot that interconnects all the books as well. The first book in the series was called Beyond the Highland Mist.
Claire's nurse costume is one of my favourites to cosplay in. It's very comfortable, even with the fake blood 😆

Claire is a great badass female character, and Caitriona Balfe does a truly amazing job at portraying her.

Also, I realize you're way beyond this ep now, but Jamie is the best. The thirst is real. He's beautiful inside and out. I love that he's a character that grows. He does something that he thinks is ok based on his time in history, but when Claire explains why it isn't, he learns and grows and it's lovely!

Imon, you will love this show. It is a big commitment. I hope you are able to outlast it. I found it towards the end of the quality suffered but there are fans who love it the whole way through. Maybe now that you’re watching I will start over. The early years are so fantastic. You referenced the good old thirsty days of TLK. Incase you didn’t know there’s a sequel movie coming out in April.

Finally another reactor to Outlander. I absolutely fell for this show, I initally went into it as a history nerd who appreciates the epic retelling of historical events, peoples, places and wars (which they do quite accurately and well I might add), but even I who finds most romantic arcs sappy, cannot deny that this show does romance superbly. This is the kind of show that only improves, episode by episode and season by season. I initially watched your videos back when you started on Vikings, can't help but be interested in people's reactions to the history of my forebears as a Swede, but I'm completely on board for this journey now.

And yes, the history element is amazing! That's down to the writer of the books, a thorough researcher, and she works it all into the story so well, making it feel so personal. I've never been a historical fiction enthusiast, but I LOVE that element in this show (and in the books, which I binge-read after binging the first 5 seasons of the show).

The story is vast and multi-genre, and there are some very dark storylines. However, it's really worth it. Fall in love with Jamie. Everyone else does, lol, but you'll also fall in love with Claire. How are you not binging!? Though the 1st season & 1st book are the best (it's a coincidence that they have the most & best sex scenes)I have rewatched & reread them so many times! Season 3 & book 3 are also amazing, BTW, if you are a reader I HIGHLY recommend these books!!! I also love history, I just love to learn, I learned about Culloden & just so much Scottish history.
