When Lockdown killed Ratchet and KSI melted him down, I wanted everyone involved in this robo hunt to burn honestly, I was with Optimus when it came to his aggression because Ratchet didn't deserve something like that
Same, I had the same rage as I had when Ironhide was dispatched.
Yeah every time an auto bot does it really sucks because they much more characterized than the decepticons
I felt the exact same because Ratchet and Optimus were my favorites
Me too I don't think any movies made me angrier than this one it was complete horseshit
@@katerinaquinn5482where is not horseshit is a masterpiece
Oh boy! Jen has every right to be cautious about this movie! But I’ll say this, Lockdown is one of the best villains Transformers has ever produced!
great villain with an amazing theme!
Yeah Lockdown is bad*$$
He is so bad*ss, he’s honestly my favorite villan from the series
Lockdown was the shit! Intergalactic Bounty Hunter working with a pissed off Kelsey Grammer 😁😁😁😁
Lockdown is the LAST good villain a Transformers movie had produced!
I love how the other villains of Transformers are motivated to destroy the world or rule the universe but Lockdown on the other hand, his motivation is to just capture Prime and leave earth
No lockdowns motivation is to do whatever benefits him and not give a shit. Complete savage.
He had some crazy lines in this.
We have a saying. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
Lockdown: I also have a saying. "I don't care." 💀💀💀
@@isaacfloyd4023 lockdown was such a total badass I swear. I adore his character. He's was the best part of AOE
@@aleximusmagnus he was a better villain then megatron
Well lockdowns goal is to capture prime with the help of ksi and send prime to his creators
Lockdown is a galactic bounty hunter
To clear things up or give more context for Jen. Galvatron has 9 outta 10 times been the name and form given to an upgraded Megatron from the lore. That’s where the name comes from. The TRex character is called Grimlock and in the lore, he is one of the few that takes issue with Optimus’s authority over him. Very aggressive and believes strongest should lead, and he is arguably stronger than Optimus. That’s why they have that small fight. The big green fat boy is called Hound. The green corvette character is Crosshairs, an expert gunner. And the blue Bugatti is Drift, a former decepticon who won’t take up firearms again, that’s why he uses swords and favors the nobility of samurai. Hope this info helps or at least seems interesting. Any further questions, I’ll gladly answer for yal
Explained it perfectly
Damn, I actually didn't know that Drift refused to use firearms, which is why he sticks to melee. Thanks
Thank you.
Drift should have his own movie. His character has real depth
@@jaydeepsen4769 Should call it "Deadlock" cause that was his original name when he was a decepticon.
When optimus wake up from his stase he says something like "no run sam". Its hard to hear but this show that Sam sacrificed himself for optimus when they were chased by cementary wind
😱 wow I didn't even notice it. I think you can hear it... awesome but sad detail 😢 lol
So then I have a question. Is Sam dead? Or in prison for aiding a transformer since they’re now the enemy?
@@seniorordenanza2387 cementary wind was about to kill Tessa so i think they killed Sam
@@seniorordenanza2387 in the Last Knight you get some idea's of what Happened to Sam. I don't wanna give spoilers away in case Jen or Holden see my comment lol
Time stamp?
The mixture of pain and rage that Optimus had when he said 'They slaughtered Ratchet!?' was so palpable, it tugged at my emotions pretty strong! :(
I don't get why people have a gripe with Prime being more aggressive in this movie-learning about Ratch was the tipping point and they'd been friends for CENTURIES like that would make ANYONE pissed tf off.
@@TheRibottoStudios I never understood that. I'd be upset, too! I mean shoot, ever since they showed up, there's been beef going against them from both humans and other bots. So it's totally understandable for him to be pissed. Made his rage scene that much better!
@@Naesala119 um...because Peter's brother who was a war veteran gave Peter advice on what optimus should be like and Peter to this day is sticking by his brother's words?. " be strong enough to be gentle" optimus in the bay films is anything BUT gentle. Optimus can get upset but don't have him snap like he does in the bayverse. Rotb and tf prime did that better by comparison.
Fun fact: the reason why we only see lockdown hunting ratchet is because ratchet is the only one who can fix any autobots like how he fix bumblebee legs and Optimus arm . And for that lockdown target him first so he can fix no more autobot especially Optimus.
Ratchet wasn’t the only one who could fix them, because they all get fixed after this movie by someone and they even get upgraded
@@TonyJaaFan1587 well cade obviously. but ratchet was the best and had the most experience outside of the old man autobot from dark of the moon.
I mean Optimus just kinda fixed himself
Hound has some sort of medical experience from what I heard
No. Lockdown hunted him because Ratchet is one of two Autobots, that knows Lockdown really, really, well. It is always those two that stop him, and every time Lockdown appears, it is to get Prime.
The other Autobot has never showed up, and that was Prowl.
Lockdown is my favorite villain, his voice and style is just cold, and personally I like Optimus primes design more, and I feel like prime gets more ruthless as they go on, plus shi la beuf characters is more close to bumblebee while marks walbergs character is close to prime. You also see Optimus take a lot of hits and my guess would be his matrix of leader that keeps him going.
Facts
Idk if you knew this fact but the same actor who voice lockdown also voiced JetFire in ROTF
@@DominicBandola24 no I didn't know that but both feel like completely different characters
And he means business
@@stupidvill4370 yeah
I’m so perplexed by how many poor decisions were made in this movie like “Oh hey let’s include an entire subplot about how she’s too young and how he keeps a laminated form in his wallet about how he’s legally protected”

Agreed. Completely unnecessary, and creepy.
I’d say The Last Knight was worse

According to something I read on Screenrant, "put simply, Shia LaBeouf didn't return in Transformers 4: Age of Extinction because he felt Sam's story was over with the completion of the initial trilogy." So that's their story. Another possibility is money. The Transformers at the end are the Dinobots and they are Legendary. Watch the original cartoons for more Dinobot action.
I was told he was arrested for assault and the company didn't want him in another transformers movie
I was surprised that Holden didn’t seem to know the Dinobots.
I'm crying when you said "Hong Kong, more like Hong Gone" and the look she gave was absolutely perfect. Loved the joke.
Jen in every marvel movie when stan lee shows up: "ooooooh, ITS STAN LEEEEEE"
Jen in every transformers movie whenever bumblebee shows up: "ooooooh, ITS BUMBLE BEEEE"
This is probably my second or third favourite of the series.
1) I find Mark more funnier and tolerable as a lead than Shia who I just find very annoying most of the time.
2) Optimus is the main focused Transformer here this time around and he's a total badass.
3) Lockdown is hands down the best Villain in the franchise they've had followed by Sentiel Prime from the last film.
4) The other Transformers like Hound, Crosshairs and Drift are recognizable and have their moments to shine and don't feel underutilized like all the others in the series so far. They're distinct and have personalities.
5) Dinobots. Short screentime yes, but god if they're not awesome.
6) Fraiser and the Smoke Monster as the human bad guys. Its fun.
It was my guilty pleasure years ago
I do love this movie I admit some shy was bumping but shia honestly has a more better acting skills the walkberg honestly and last knight walkberg look like he has not shampoo his hair
This movie to me has great visuals.
Fun fact: sam and most of the other human characters from previous films are dead the human villains in this movie killed them because they were with the autobots in fact when Cade brings prime back online you can hear prime say SAM RUN!!
They never confirmed that Sam was dead, they just wrote his character out of the story because shia didn’t want to do those movies anymore
@@TonyJaaFan1587 it was confirmed in The Last Knight that he is actually dead.
@@Slays_Media source? I just rewatched the whole series and there was no mention of the character and his fate by any of the autobots or other characters

@@quinap2 don't matter, her compassion was adorable.
I have always loved Shane's reaction to Optimus' upgrade it's just so natural. "That was insane, that was awesome but insane right!?"
AND THE GOD DAMN SCORE for this movie just....holy Christ. I can't sing Steve Jablonksy's praises ENOUGH. So many banger tracks. Tessa, Lockdown, Autobots Reunite, Battle Cry, (This is Imagine Dragons but they mix it in with Lockdown's theme in the final battle so good they just don't miss.) His Name is Shane and he Drives, Punch Hold Slide Repeat....It's good stuff. And Jen's reaction seeing Bumblebee....let me tell you HE GOT CHEERS in my theater when we all saw him again lol. Why? Maybe it was cause we saw Autobots get attacked and wanted to know he was okay, maybe it's cause he's just that iconic but....yeah. Full on ERUPTION of cheers and applause. Pretty great. I like the convo between Optimus and Cade too. It really feels like they actually tried to have a connection there.
This right here. But yeah I really like this movie. The dark of the moon is still my favorite one, but this one is my third favorite I think
20:27 Jen is right to be scared. Lockdown's theme is intimidating as hell. It really makes the abduction scene somehow REALLY intense.
Lockdown was a villain created in Transformers The Animated series from 2007. A really great Transformers show and Lockdown was one of their best villains with some of the darkest stories behind him. He would hunt down different cybertronians (transformers) and strip them of parts to upgrade himself. He had this huge hook hand that was real cool
This is literally my biggest Guilty Pleasure movie, I can watch it anyday.
Especially because of Lockdown, he's just sooooo good.
Yea
Lockdown's original name is Breakdown thats apart of a Decepticon team called the Stunticons and they combined together to create a giant robot named Menasor.
I feel like Sam was always just mostly a plot device whereas Cade is more an active member of the autobots. Also, thank y'all for watching and reviewing these films in 2022. I always had a bias for these movies because they were how I was introduced to transformers. Now, after watching other transformers media and revisiting the films through your videos, I realize that they are mostly about the unique designs and action sequences of the transformers. I still love them for what they are worth though. So, thank you guys for the wonderful content!
I can’t wait for them to watch bumblebee I know Jen would love every bit of that movie and Hailee Steinfeld gives an amazing performance in the movie as well
facts my wife is so good in that movie😩
Neat detail at 9:07 Optimus says "Sam runnnn" which I love because its either Optimus reliving the time he died in revenge of the fallen where his last words in the forest fight was him telling Sam to run or the thing I like to believe is Sam was in that autobot ambush where I think Sam died hence why no one goes looking for him and the Sam run was the last thing Optimus said to him.
I like how you’re promoting Matt’s business. That’s such a cool thing to do😂
Jen is absolutely going to LOVE the Bumble Bee film. She's going to be beside herself with joy the entire film.
Am I the only one who feels some sort of exciting aggression at the end when Optimus flies in space and says “Leave planet earth alone”🔥🔥
3:55 "Im honestly surprised they've stopped."
But they DIDN'T stop. The Bumblebee sequel Transfromers: Rise of the Beasts inspired by Beast Wars comes out next year.
When Holden says there is a lot of action and not a lot of substance, I'm almost certain that he and Jen will enjoy reacting to Bumblebee, and leave the Transformers reactions on a fresh note and perspective. Don't get me wrong, I really love these movies so I'm not saying that the Bumblebee movie is better than the Bayverse movies in anyway, but it's definitely a refreshing watch with some genuine heart and substance after what I think is a sometimes a messy blurred together action packed series.
Bumblebee is better then all the films in the bayverse
I really can't wait for Jen's reaction to the Bumblebee movie.
Bumblebee reaction just for the intro alone would be great, what I wanted from the Transformer films the G1 designs looked so much better than the Michael Bay film designs.
I disagree. Bays designs were entirely something new. The g1 designs are so overdone and boring
@@the_autobot_Titan1 So overused that they only appeared in a single live action film.... Don't get me wrong some Bay designs look really solid but then you have ones like Wheeljack and Megatron who looked awful. The overall designs got worse throughout each film with the first film having some really solid designs that looked like a good mix between G1 and Bay's take on these characters. Later films turned them into overdesigned monsters which just looked awful in comparison to G1 and the first few films. Bumblebee though nails all designs and showcases that G1 can look amazing in live action. Should remind you that the Bumblebee film designs are G1 but updated a little but still maintains the amazing 1980s retro Robot art style that we rarely see any more making them far more unique and special.
@@the_autobot_Titan1 bays design were great for Optimus and Bumblebee, and kinda decent for the others autobots
But Decepticons are just a bunch of gray metal fucked into eachother, most of the time you cant even tell what the fuck it is
I think Jen is really gonna Love Bumblebee lol
To each their own. I found the bay designs much much more unique and creative than any of the classic designs. My only criticism is that the decepticon need more color
I went to go see TJ Miller last week at a comedy club he looked right at me lmao dude has the craziest eyes I’ve ever looked into legitimately intimidated me for a split second 😂😂
I don't understand how anyone can call this movie boring. It's the only Transformers movie that I've watched from start to finish without being bored and everything about it was well balanced. Also CGI is on top and that's a fact. Action scenes were thought out to the smallest detail and looked amazing.
Out of all the Bayformers films, this is still my favorite. Sure there was comedy & signature Bayisms, but not nearly as much. It felt like a real, serious Transformers story.
Just when you thought there couldn't be a worse character than Sam, in comes in Mark Walberg's Cade Yeager lmao
Sam was a good character. How was he bad?
Sam was good lmao
Yall are kidding right? Sam was the least interesting character in the first trilogy, Mikaela's character was far more interesting in the first two movies its just that MB mainly used her as eye candy.

I don't know if ya'll know the back story behind why Shia didn't do the last 2 movies. But He got into some really bad drug habits and ended up going to jail for public intoxication, but that's all he went to jail for. But after he got out of jail, he decided to go into rehab to sober up and he made that decision by himself completely and he's doing so much better now!! @@Guardian582 It’s not minor at all.
Actually, when Crosshairs calls Bee a child, he’s not that far off. By Cybertronian/Transformers standards, Bumblebee is actually the youngest member of the Autobots.
It's crazy to think we are getting another transformers movie sometime in the near future. In terms of story I actually enjoyed this one a lot. Should be interesting to see you guys react to the last one and bumblebee.
By creed 2 director...
Grimlock (and to a lesser extent the other Dinobots) being in this is the best thing about it. They could've certainly done more with them and done it better but just the fact that they're there at all is great. Grimlock was always my next favorite Autobot next to Optimus himself. Damn some Bumblebee...give me more Grimlock! He just needs a bit more personality. I gotta put Age of Extinction above at least Revenge of the Fallen. Lockdown was great too..
also shia thought sam's story was done after the first three movies so pretty sure he voluntarily left.
if you like shia and want to hear raw, legit stories i'd suggest watching jon bernthal's youtube videos he did with him. moving stuff. also the drama with don't worry darling is pretty interesting too
Shia stories are so deep and inspiring even though he’s going through a tough time in his life he’s still a good actor he’s personally one of my favorites
@@Lakerfanforlife yeah i agree; a lot of the movies i watched growing up he was in so that’s probably a factor too
20:05 that’s the original voice actor of megatron from the old cartoon. Frank welker.
One thing will praise for this and next film is the scenes when otpimus and megatron face each other and talk. You can hear in the dialogue of the history they have facing each other unlike the other voice for him in first three films. Mainly due to Peter Cullen and frank welker they voiced the characters, know how they talk and act, and personally know each other in the work they did together.
I really hope they listen to fans when they get megatron to appear in future films they get frank to reprise his voice role as him.

The Romeo and Juliet law scene and every scene with the legal minor and her adult "boyfriend" was creepy af. Even if they were both minors when they met, that's still a guy who's not far from finishing high school going out with a girl who just got through middle school.
Here in Australia, a similar law exists, but there can't be more than two years between them, regardless of them both being minors when they met. There was a girl in my year whose boyfriend had finished high school and she was in year 11. It was still legal because his birthday was early in the year, so he started kindergarten at 4, and her birthday was late in the year, so she was 5 when she started kindergarten. They were within a couple months of having more than two years between their ages, but they still got some looks when she was walking around in school uniform with him.

I just realized Galvatron and Stinger are pretty much the movie's version of the stunticons. I wish they'd have just called Galvatron Motormaster instead. I also can't believe they made Paris, Texas at the beginning actually look like Paris, Texas even though I'm about 99% sure it wasn't filmed here. I was impressed that I wasn't ripped out of the movie by a small, semi-unknown town not looking like it actually does. In particular, there is an interchange coming into Paris where you go one way for business district and one way for the loop that is very unique looking that they got pretty much perfect. Maybe they did their research (doubtful), maybe it was a happy accident but it was a nice surprise either way..
In the 3rd movie. when they show the city under attack. they used real pyro to shoot off the buildings in chicago. They didn't tell the people living there that it was going to happen. Transformers transformed (pun not intended at first) from a childhood relic to just a monotonous rehash. It's kind of sad, but it's how I've felt about them for a long time.
The bumblebee movie has a different feel to it
Amazing. The last knight and bumblebee reaction is next and I’m ready for her reaction
i can’t wait for them to see the Whitwicky lineage and the answer to if Shia watched the movies after his. (Yes, he stepped away only cause he wanted his story to end at 3, feeling like it had been complete at that point and wouldn’t make sense to continue; hence Mark replacing him).
Edit: to Jen’s analysis as well, I think her questions on Sam and everything will be answered in the next one. Mostly
There's actually another Transformers coming out next year. I would have assumed they were done too if I hadn't looked.
Transformers Rise of the Beasts - June 23rd. I never watched the animated Beast Wars so this should be very new to me.
Isn't is a reboot?
@@proxima__galilei5643 Bumblebee was the reboot and RotB is supposed to be the follow up
fr?
@@kenzokenzo Just want to caution people. Sort of keep in mind the word reboot has been used alot while promoting a new film or tv series of a long running TV Series and/or film franchise that were still connected to the previous installments. Recently, the ICarly revival, was called a reboot in interviews, but still acknowledged and was connected to the first series but made changes in its tone being more adult.
The best part about this movie is Lockdown. I also like the chosen autobots in this movie, but nothing really beats Lockdown for me here.
Also the boyfriend arc was not necessary, but had some comedic moments. As for the Shia/Sam not being there. In my head it makes sense he's not with Bumblebee because all the Autobots are basically on the run or in hiding in this movie and Bee would never put Sam in danger like that.
Love Galvatrons look. In the 80s cartoon, isnt Galvatron what Megatron was reincarnated as by Unicron?
Also, love the black camaro look for Bumblebee a lot more. Love Drift and Crosshairs as well. And of course, Grimlock and the Dinobots
Yes in both the Marvel comic and the cartoon Unicron 'regenerated; Megatron into Galvatron.
By the way Holden, that scene where they show inside the China plant? That was filmed at a GM plant in Lansing, Michigan where I work at! Although this was filmed long before I work there, nevertheless it’s a cool moment!
THIS WAS the reaction i was waiting for, because this movie is special to me! The "hate" it has is a trendy hate and not a legit one. Personally i think this is the best and powerful of ALL the Transformers movies. Loved the reaction!
@@novustalks7525 Or almost everything....
@@Azurios Nah you’re wrong I can guarantee that
There’s no legit hate for any of these movies at all
@@PoIarisPrime These movies absolutely suck. All of them
It’s a solid movie. I’d place it 3rd. Transformers 1 and 3 have it beat.
RIP RATCHET! Also the Main Villain in the Movie was Lockdown, Galvatron is Megatron Reborn!
26:33 Evil Bumblebee? Looks like Cliffjumper. 😆
Oh I been waiting for this
10:37 - and that's why he was cast as Harry Bosch. Seriously though, love Titus Welliver; but his entire career has just been preparation to play the titular role in Bosch, and long may it continue.
The female lead of this movie is Nicola Peltz, she played Katara in the live action film The Last Airbender (2010) by M. Night Shyamalan, adaptation of the animated series of Nickelodeon network.
In several animated series, Galvatron is typically the rebuilt Megatron. Except for some comics were he was portrayed as a different person, unrelated to Megatron.
Don't worry Holden, I got a Terrain too and my wipers have gone out 3 times
One of the best things the transformers franchise did is making there be consequences for the events of the prior movies by outlawing them and having people who hunt them down
That being with cybernetic parts said something. I never noticed that until now
There is several things in this movie that were big things pulled from the generation 1 transformers cartoons. Namely the Dinobots, which were originally built by the Autobots after they found dinosaur fossils in the volcanic mountain their base the crashed ship the Ark sits in. (Yes MB used the Ark in Dark of the Moon, but like everything twist it and uses it else where.) The other big G1 lore piece was Galvatron. In the G1 Galvatron is the remade Megatron. The celestial being known as Unicron made him as his herald and minion. Back to the dinobots, They made their brains simple and after they went berserk and trashed the place they are shut down but then reactivated with upgrades to make them smarter (but still very stupid compared to the other cybertronians) and after saving the day they were left active and given an island for the original 3, Grimlock=T. Rex, Slag=Triceratops, Sludge=Brontosaurus, to live on and later a couple more Dinobots were built, Swoop=Pteradactyle and I forget the stegosaurus' name. Grimlock has always been the leader because he is the strongest and if I remember right is technically more powerful that Optimus but not as tactically good so Optimus can beat him. But Optimus originally won Grimlocks respect by saving his life even after the Dinobots betrayed the Autobots. From then on Optimus had Grimlocks loyalty and the other Dinobots follow Grimlock, although several of them don't like Grimlock following Optimus' orders when called upon. In the Bay verse you have Grimlock=T.Rex, Slug=Triceratops, Straf=two headed Pteradactyl, and Scorn=Spinosaurus.
19:24 Big Michael Bay cameo in the truck 😜
