- My 1968 Porsche 912 is back on the road. In this video you'll see a few driving clips of the car and hear how the story unfolded when I was stranded in the canyon the last time you saw me.
This restoration took a lot of time, money, and effort. It's difficult to put into words how cool it feels to be here. Thank you for following this little series.

I a bit jealous and your enthusiasm is definitely a factor. 💯👊🏻👊🏻
Another great video Michael.
The guy that never made any mistakes never did any work!
You’ve done a great job with Duffy.
Can’t wait to see more of it. Lovin’ the orange 912💥🍊
thank you! Mistakes are maybe the only guarantee haha
These cars have been engineered and built with lots of passion and love. They are almost hand made. Enjoy this lovely little Porsche from Germany. 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😊🇩🇪
Dude. Stoked for you. Love this car. Cheers to creating more memories with the 'Duffster.'
Thank you! The 'Duffster' lives on!
That's so cool that you love that thing.
Thanks Rich! Having a blast with it
Congratulations - cool little motor….. a friend of mine had a 912 and what it lacked in power against my early 911 - it made up with character and on the back roads once I had momentum it was such a great drive. Personally, I do prefer having the confidence of the power of the 911 - just so I can get past slower traffic when needed. Great content keep it up👌👌
Thanks! Both are great cars for sure
Very cool to see the 912 running Mike, sounds magic. It's been a good bit of work for you but surely it's all worthwhile now mate. In that condition it's a rare little gem that's only going to get better with each tickle that you give it. Keep us in the picture as you carry on enjoying her.
Thanks for watching Steve! I'll keep posting if you guys keep watching. Appreciate it
Geez! I just found your channel! Love it!
You did it, Michael!! I know that it had to have been a LOT of work bringing Duffy back. He's living his best life back on the road now, and I think that's awesome. My dad had an absolutely beautiful '68 Bahama yellow 912 back in the 1980's. He got it by trading his '54 Austin Healey 100-4 that he had installed a stage III 426 max wedge into. Lol I sure sure wish he would have kept that 912 though!! It was stunning. He eventually traded it for a 280Z 😂 I know.. ouch.. 😬🥴
Thanks! It was a lot of work, but worth it. Traded for a 280z! oh nooo haha
Your content is always spot on.
Thank you!
Love Love my 67 912 coupe, I will have to watch the rest of your 912 videos.
Congrats on getting it going!
Thanks!
Looks like a great match.
Sure is :)
Great video, Mike! As I've said before, I love the SWB 912 and you listed all the reasons why, light handling, clutch and ease of use. I've been a motorcycle guy all my life and love the small bore motorcycles, you just feel like you're riding them and not them riding you. I really hope to one day own such a special car, love my SC but my heart is with a SWB 912. Good to see you and I hope life is treating you well!
Steve! Comparing to a small bore Moto is exactly right. They're all fun truthfully. If you had a 912 you'd want an SC. Just a different experience. Hope you're well man!
Thanks for sharing! Glad you were able to figure out what was wrong. Now you get to drive it all the time!
Brother 🎉👍 super cool
Appreciate it
Awesome Porsche Michael...cool cauliflower ear too #respect #jiujitsu
I'm just starting out at the beginning of this car's story so I'll be saving this video for later. I just wanted to say it would be awesome if you could make a playlist for all the videos related to this 912 ✌️
you know what..I really should do that. Thank you
Playlist created. Good call!
@@michaelgideon6422 thanks man
Looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds
👍👍
great video experience. thanks for the inspiration
I will never be able to afford a new Porsche let alone a restomod (Singer/Sportec), my only option is to buy a project 911/912 and fix it up. Videos like this give me some hope that it is possible with older aircoolers and a home garage.
If I can do it, anyone can do it
Awesome series!
Think I did hear "favorite car" - drive a slower car harder or a fast car at a fraction of the potential. The first one seems more appealing almost always (unless you're on a track).
Great to see your 912 up and running :). Have you ever driven a 914?
With majority of driving being around town and quick drives, the slower car is more fun..unless on track..very true. Thanks Jack! I have driven a 914, loved it
Hey Michael. You're doing it right! Keep it up.
Small note; you might want to talk to someone who knows racing config and safety belt dynamics to look at your over-the-shoulder belt rig. That's actually a not safe configuration of the shoulder belt anchor points. It's always something, isn't it?
Thanks! I know it's not consider safe. Appreciate the concern. I'll eventually change the mounting points to a higher location. Cheers!
🖤
😊
thanks for watching
Loved following the journey of this build! Makes me reconsider the plans I have for my 69’ 912. I was planning on putting a flat six in it. After hearing it’s your favorite car, I think I’m gonna keep it as is. Is your engine stock or did you install a big bore kit?
If you plan on driving it as a regular car, I'd leave the 4 cylinder. I kept it stock, just a mild cam. It feels plenty quick unless you're on a hill climb
Yeah, sometimes less is more….
Man this makes me so bummed that I missed the market on one of these. Epic car brotha!
you and me both haha. I'm probably the only person on the web that admits overpaying for every car haha. Thanks dude
Which car did you sell from the stable. You mentioned you were selling one of them. Btw ibeen following the 912 build very inspiring.
I haven't sold anything. We'll see maybe this next year
It’s cool your having in an cool old car but you’re never really stranded nowadays cause you got a cell phone unless you had to walk a few miles and your phone battery was dead.
I did have to walk and hitch a ride
Who rebuilt the engine?
I’m a 66 911 guy.
10 times the clicks without this ridiculous "Duffster" name stuff, i bet. Give it a try!
