Dude is like the happy giant godlike drummer who can play with his eyes closed, yet still look so down to Earth and probably wouldn’t mind chilling with you.
I met him in the lobby of a King Crimson show and he talked to me for 20 minutes. He was really kind. He doesn’t do pictures but gave a hug to anyone that asked. My buddy had a Danny Carey T-Shirt in the 90s that said “Believe in nothing, destroy your ego, trust in your divinity”. Just to riff off of what you were saying about him.

I've long held the belief that the only thing that makes Tool instrumentaly interesting is the percussion. The bass and guitar match and just repeat, which makes it kinda boring. Take away Fanny and you have pretty much every other prog band lol

This man has played drums his whole life, and look how much he still loves it, and how he can make people feel by playing them. Plus, being in a band like Tool, he can continue to progress, and grow as a musician. Not being bogged down and having to act as just an overgrown metronome. He reminds me of Ginger Baker from Cream, but with a completely different attitude towards life.

The sad thing is right after this charity event, some jerk got into it with him at the airport, which ended with him being arrested. The guy probably recognized him and decided to provoke him. Danny is a great person, and I really enjoyed watching this video. Thanks for posting it.

I miss Tool back on the early 90's, best concerts I've ever seen. Well, as a young guy who was into that kind of music lol. My high school car, Honda CRX, had three window stickers...Tool, NIN, and Tori Amos. Yep, the 90's were the best. Certainly better than today
You don’t have to be a fan to recognize talent. Early tool was great up till anemia. After that in my opinion everything just sounded the same and was flat and radio tried to push singles but most just failed. A few gems after a anemia stand out but for the most part I lost Interest in 1996
