I was at a Tool concert in 2002 in Denver at the Pepsi Center, and during one of the songs, Justin's strap came off of his bass and he continued to play the entire song holding it up in mid air; he didn't miss a beat. Once the song ended he quickly put the strap back on, but wow. I watched him the entire song. Amazing. And the rest of the show was spot on. Best concert I've ever seen.
My first Tool concert was Seattle, ca. 1997. I was front row in front of Justin, the part of aenima at 1:39 looked about 10x faster that day, fucking blew me away!

Saw tool a few weeks ago in Melbourne. Justin has such a cool energy to him and kept smiling to everyone in the crowd, you can tell he’s very appreciative of fans

Met this charming bloke in Seattle at the MLS championship soccer (football) game between LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake way back in 2009. We were in Kasey Keller's suite, hardly watching the game, drinking overpriced beer and NOT talking about TOOL. I'm a bit of an Anglophile and fanatical fan of Tool's music so I guess I could've made a better effort to press him on that side of his life but I didn't seize the opportunity to "interview" the man. I don't regret it.

This dude is incredible. Adam & Danny of have their own unique sound but Justin. Half the reason I got into Tool was because of his baselines. They just pulled me immediately in. They’re loud, they’re attention grabbing & god damn that man can groove. First time I got my dad to listen to Tool (he’s a bass player as well), he had a “Where has this man/band been all my life?” moment.

Just because he doesn’t write complex lines doesn’t mean he can’t, nor does it reflect on his skill as a musician. Justin is the perfect bassist for tool.
