    Make sure you get extra brut or brut nature. The simple syrup will add the sugar to the cocktail and increase the sweetness of the sparkling wine.
    For those who don’t know. At the end of the winemaking process for Champagne, they add a mixture of wine and sugar to balance the wine. This because the yeast get blasted out of the bottle after the wine is finished being aged so you loose some wine. With an extra brut or brut nature, they will seem a lot more acidic, or sour, than a brut because of the lower amount of sugar added. In fact, brut nature gets it sugar from whatever is left in the wine.

    A fave of mine! I personally use Grander Trophy Release Panamanian Rum (8 Yr aged rum), you should try it out sometime if you get the chance Leandro

    Do you actually need to muddlypoo if you shakeypants afterwards?

      No

      Yeah you do. Shaking doesn’t agitate the mint enough to express much oil from it.
      Muddling is necessary

      If shaking vigorously for 10 seconds is enough to chill your drink, it's enough to muddle mint, which doesn't need to be pulverized.

      @@SandstormGT No, it's not.

      @@markusfreund6961 no need to display your ignorance, simply put mint in your shaker tin with ice, shake it, discard the ice and look at your mint. Looks exactly the same as lightly muddled mint. Sure, if you want your mint to look like it's gone through a wood chipper, muddle the hell out of it but I don't like my mojitos tasting like chlorophyll.

    Can you substitute Prosecco for the Champagne?

    • @markusfreund6961
      @markusfreund6961 Před 6 měsíci +1

      No idea whether you can, I can for sure.

      Depends on what you the flavors to be in the final drink. If you just want to add some fruitiness to the cocktail, sure. If you want richness, creaminess and depth, a traditional method sparkling, like Champagne, is the way to go. Champagne in the case of cocktails just means sparkling wine.
