I'm literally dealing with this right now. I'm not sure if he/she is going to make it, but I'm keeping it warm, safe and fed. Day three and I think he/she is getting alitle stronger but it might be a long road. I think they might be a bit younger than this mouse was in the video. I know the odds are stacked against him/her but I'm doing what I can.

My father always had such compassion for animals. He used to do night shifts, and sometimes found a sick or injured animal, and take them to a local rescue centre. I've been lucky to have both parents dedicated to being kind. This little mouse reminds me of my dad releasing mice into the woods, after leaving out humane traps. Such sweet little creatures 💖
This video helped me a lot , because recently I found two baby rats lying on my staircase. One was getting bitten by ants, while the other one was trying to crawl. They were so tiny and weak, they could hardly move. I gave them some milk to drink. It is very hard to feed them because they had very small mouths but now they are healthy and they are kept in a warm and cosy place. My brother loves and adores them. ❤️

Theres just something so magical about raising a baby animal. Seeing them go from a defenseless crying blob of cuteness, to a fully fledged adult, having a family of their own. It instills a sense of pride and beautiful sadness
I have watched this so many times, and I’m so glad she didn’t wind up in someone else’s house- like someone who would kill her. She is so adorable and her trust for this girl (sorry idk ur name) is amazing. She’d trust her with her life.

God bless this young lady. I was like her, trying to save every little animal I came across that needed help (including mice). It led me to a lifetime of rescues. I think she's on the same path. Godspeed her on her way.💙

I love that not only did you save this precious little mouse, but that you were thoughtful and considerate enough to get her a mouse buddy! I know that is important to them, (except the tarantulas, who don't like to snuggle).
Our home was jokingly referred to as "Noah's Ark", because we had at least 2 of practically ever species (all rescues) ... even unwanted kids.
Maybe one day I'll get around to writing that book everyone tells me I should write.

The reason I dont want a small animal to be one of my companions is because I'd be so scared of crushing them or just stepping on them by accident.

Sometimes animals can be more aware of their surroundings than humans, for example, they can notice very small movement of objects when human eyes fail. Many animals have better sight and hearing than humans. However, it seems that they are simply aware of the existence of something, while not curious about questions like: What is it? Where does it come from? Why is it like this? No, animals never do this, i'ts just instinct as u said it.
This reminds me of the story of the Christmas Day kitten, but with mice.

I'm unsure of Greta's species - possibly a white-footed mouse - but she is a different species to her companion which is a domestic version of the House Mouse. They are probably not closely related enough to interbreed.

I had a Male deer mouse in with my feeder female mice and I have alot of females and not once did any of them get pregnant I put in a Male feeder mouse one day bc the pet shop screwed up and gave me a Male and bam 21 days later I had a baby mouse .....

It reminds me of when i was a little girl my Dad showed me where a mouse had built a nest and had her babies. I was sure my Dad was going to get rid of the mice. But not my Dad though he said they deserved too live we need to leave them alone.

i had a kitten that i found once that’s eyes had a bunch of gunk on it and after we cleaned him up and he looked up at me with that same sorta expression, of “omg, mom way bigger then thought” he was so small when i found him behind my place too, he fit in one of my hands and i have small as heck hands, did back then and do still now, but he thought i was his mother, he was always extra protective of me, he’d try to clean my arms when i’d hold him, i named him tiny, the real irony is he got big, like real big, but when he was a baby you could basically burrito wrap him in a washcloth and he loved it.
did try to attack one of my family members for yelling at me though, he was gonna end them he was so mad at their yelling at me, i like to think he saw me as his mom, he sure did act like it, he’ll back when he was super small i used to wrap him up in a washcloth and sing him to sleep and then i’d hold him close and go to bed to his tiny purring, he was such a people cat, loved everybody but protected me from a ton.
he had a long life and even had kids, but then he sorta walked off, we assume it’s because he was raised outside so like many outdoor cats in my area they sometimes just leave and pass away or he joined the cat colony near my house and decided to never come back but cats seemingly really like me for the most part in my area, i can tame a feral like nothing so i assume he probably just didn’t want to be around when he passed.
he was a top tier cat though, same for my oldest that passed last year named Cece, she was 26 when she died according to our vet, she had a infection in her nose from a tooth she refused to let them remove and got sick from it sadly, they said their was nothing else they could do because if they tried to operate she’d just pass away on their table so we had to put her down because of it but she was around my home from the time i was seven up until i turned 22, and she was a hell of a cat.

if it makes you feel better man they lived a good long life, tiny lived around 15 years for me from what i can remember ( i was really young when i found him so he probably lived to be pretty old) and as for Cece she legit lived as long as i can remember i remember back when i was six my earliest memory is cece joining my family, she lived until i turned 22, she was a constantly happy cat too, even in the end she was happy, sorry it it’s to heavy though if it helps i try to imagine their still around somewhere, just hanging with each other, sitting under a tree together, laying in the sun, you know, normal cat things, i’m also currently writing a book about them, that way at least everybody else can know of how great they were, even after i’m gone myself, you know?
idk if i’ll ever get it published or find anybody that would publish it but i’d like to at least do that for them, maybe put all that money towards a charity for animals or helping tame and house feral cats if i ever do get it published.
i mean it’s only fair, they helped me a ton in life so i should give back to all the feral cats i’ve had in my life somehow, after all each of my babies started feral at one point or another except for one, one was abandoned near my place, but he’s such a sweet cat though, super friendly, we think he was dumped because he has feline depression, which sometimes causes him to lose his hair through constant licking if he thinks he isn’t getting enough love or attention, at least from what i can tell.
hell i even found another kitten recently, she’s an absolute treasure, i named her Jamie :)
i put up a video of her on my channel too if you wanna see her, i even plan on posting more about my cats soon too, my emotional support pup mac has gotten more screen time then them recently too so i plan on showing them more soon.
honestly i’m thankful for all my pets, their all amazing and i owe them everything for keeping me going, i feel like each of them is a small part of me in a way too, just like they seem to claim me for themselves too, you know.

Very well done to this young girl for all the effort & ingenuity she put into rescuing the mama mouse & ensuring the survival of the baby mouse. A lot of people wouldn't bother & would very likely have binned the poor little thing or just chucked it out, which she would not have survived. God Bless you for your compassion & empathy, you should be really proud of yourself

Raising a newborn mouse to adulthood is actually really tough, its lots of commitment with all the feeds so often and helping them toilet too. Many dont make it without the comfort of other mice to curl up with, they struggle to feed and just don't have the "will" to survive when they are alone. So well done lass! Great job!
