I love the fact that they carried out major environmental remediation of an old quarry to make it a top of the line luxury hotel. Great effort in greening a brownfield site.

Not exactly a good view in my opinion,I have stayed in hotels on the banks of the Niagara and Victoria falls,and as long as you get a room high up in a hotel in Dubai the views can be stunning
And in San Francisco and New York , a regular hotel room without breakfast is around 300 plus tax and service feeeeeee
I cannot forget when I was having buffet in beautiful Burj Ai Arab, a fatty fly entertained every guest with its irritating singing...

My father has Xiaodu as well. But it is a music player. Every time when he calls her name, it seems she is a part of the family. IHG hotels in China are wonderful. I have been to several in different cities. The food is absolutely amazing.

I travelled to Songjiang many times years ago and noticed this unique and fancy hotel which was then being built. It's a great idea to transform the abandoned quarry into something nice like this, perfect for conference and functions, not bad for a short trip in Shanghai, and of course fantastic for a wedding. Thanks for sharing and will definitely go exploring once I have a chance.

Very cool. I once paid $350 plus tax a night for a standard room at Holiday Inn Express in Fort Lauderdale during the spring break. Not even an oceanfront hotel. As a comparison, the $300 room was a steal.

I never knew about Chengdu until I met a girl from there in my college year. From what I've seen from pictures and videos that place is amazing and almost unknown to the world (except for the panda lovers who sometimes calls it the panda capital of the world). I really hope I'll get to visit it in the near future.

I went to Chengdu in 2018. The tour took us to Emei, LeShan Giant Buddha, Jiuzhaigou, Dujiangyan Huanglong, Songpan city, Kuan Valley, and Panda Research Center.
I've been to both Chengdu and Leshan, great cities, Sichuan is such a beautiful province. The golden Buddha on the top of Mt Emei is amazing!

I have watched a documentary to introduce how they designed and built the hotel. It’s far more difficult than what we thought to build a building from bottom to the ground, and the technical engineers made many new world records. Hope back to China and have a visit there. Thanks for sharing.
