- The MS-20 monophonic synthesizer, released in 1978, is still a coveted instrument to this day, thanks to its thick, robust sound, powerful, iconic analogue filters, and versatile patching options. It is reborn in the MS-20 Mini, with the original engineers perfectly reproducing its circuitry in a slightly downscaled body, for a new generation.

Please reissue the ms-20 desktop. Our studio doesn’t need another keyboard in it and the mults were an excellent addition. Go on, Korg… More modules/please!
It’s one of my favourite synths
The MS-20 will always be one of my favorite analog synths. But I wish we got the whole MS-system to go along with the mini. That would have been amazing.
i am gonna buy a ms20 mini for my acid sounds :) cant image a better sounding filter for this
Good vid, this
Can we get it in white?
Peak resonance doesn't sound the same and not nearly as grimy as the original
So?
@@synthetic24 so nothing
Depends on the filter on the OG one- they revised it. I don’t get what you say though, I heard both side-by-side and there was no difference. Is yours one of the early production ones?
@@t55a2 i have the the 1978 version and the first remake. Sold the remake.
@@nazieg That’s interesting, I compared my MS-20mini to the OG, which I believe was of that era. You may well have better hearing or probably a better studio, but I honestly couldn’t tell any difference. The mini isn’t as well-made, the patch sockets are just clipped on, but that’s more a material difference. Thanks for replying, they are fascinating wee synths, no question.
I like the MS-10, as well.
You just want to promote that shixty drum machine 😅
