  • The first pigeon shooting session of the spring over winter cauliflower produced a great afternoons sport from the hide .
    Chris from CJW Sporting helped me set up for the afternoon after we set one of his clients up a few fields away first.
    The afternoon started off well after a short while Chris made the decision to move the magnet and decoys out further and to the left as the pigeons were dropping in low because the game cover in front of us was high.and I was unable to see them to shoot.
    There was a steady nice flow of birds coming in 1s 2s 3s all afternoon with a couple of larger bunches, theres also tips from Chris about setting up the pigeon magnet and decoys then plenty of shotkam and GoPro footage of the afternoon session also some great footage of Lexi picking up after we finish the session
    If you enjoy the video please give it a like share and comment
    many thanks.

    Crazy what damage the pigeons can do to a crop and must cost the gamer a colossal amount ! Job well done mate ! As you know mate me being a new shot I find your your footage educational, I like that Chris took the time to show how to set the spinner up also to keep the pigeons head into wind ! Every day a school day ,, 👍, I know I’ve asked in the past but I’d really like I day out with and perhaps get on one of your videos as a new shot as I’m sure other new comers would like it too ! Perhaps wishful thinking lol but if you don’t ask you don’t get ,, , proper good footage and some good shooting also like your honesty that you miss some really easy shots , also my self in the past decoying pigeons I think I’ve been to eager and should let them come in a bit more !, enjoyed it mate entertaining watch ,,, stay safe mate all the best Marc 👍

    I wonder how much damage your shot does to the cauliflower ?. Especially when your taking birds at low level and close in .

    • @washwildfowler
      @washwildfowler  Před 2 lety

      There’s no Damage done as the head of the cauliflower has not formed when I shot the crop . We can shoot it up the a certain stage of growth then we can’t shoot it till after the crop has finished if there are still a lot of pigeons in the area .

    Good video mate one thing though I been out of action waiting a year for a knee replacement I got 1000 30 grm pigeon loads is that right any game dealer will not take pigeons shot with lead if so I will have to shoot corvids instead,

    • @washwildfowler
      @washwildfowler  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for your continued support Keith. The game dealers I take my quarry to will not allow anything with lead in , including deer . I would check with your Game dealer 🙏👍

      @washwildfowler  Před 2 lety

      Thanks. Sorry it’s 50/50!with the music some subscribers like it , some don’t like it. I mainly use it because I hate the sound on the shotkam shot , then the action coming back to feed another cartridge sounds awful hence the music.👍

    You must have all the pigeons by you. Grounds too wet in Yorkshire for drilling. Been out twice this week and seen less than a handful. Not worth setting out decoys.

      It’s that time of year again where they got shot roost shooting through February. then move about and start feeding in smaller bunches .
