DAYUUMM! One of the freshest engine bays for these Yota pickups ive seen. Im out here in Long Beach CA and ive been looking to get my hands on a 90-93 short bed for a minute but prices been outta control. Either that or the same era Honda CRX, I remember when you could scoop both them up all day every day at cheap prices but theyre getting harder and harder to come by.. Amazing build tho man, thanks for the share.
Congratulations friend. What a nice itch you have. I have a Toyota of 93 and it is my new project. But how beautiful the turbo looks and everything you put on it.
The more boost you run the less compression ratio you want. 9.5:1 is perfect for 10 psi but if you ever want to push the boost up to 20 you’re way better off at 8.5:1.
This truck is SOOOOO CLEAN!!!! You're in my home town. Raised here. Went to BHS. I just picked up a 84 from the original owner and I was literally thinking about the possibility of adding a turbo to the factory 22R. All the way down to thinking in my head "what was the MSD box that let you adjust timing depending on boost????" LOL Either way..I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see this truck. Do you do cars and coffee?
Fucking sick!! Some mechanics don't like the heavy duty Timing kit because with oem timing plastic guides you can hear chain slap when chain gets old and stretched.
clean truck man, very nice. Only issue is as much money you spent under the hood, You could have easily 2jz swapped this thing for less money.... and make more power on stock boost level..
Thanks man appreciate that. I have no issues on my end I did what I wanted to do. I wanted to stick to the roots and do something different. There are so many 2jz swapped trucks/cars out there but very few 22r/re. I’ll probably do a swap on another truck or car but for now I’m good.
super clean toyota pickup bro. one day I hope to own one like this. does the 89-95 grill, bumper and headlight assembly just bolt onto this gen? or did you have to fabricate adaptors?
I had my windshield guy install a universal rubber seal when I replaced it. He brought it over with the glass and It looked good so I went with it. The body was prepped and painted without the trim so the finish around it is clean.
Cool truck. What size is your exhaust piping? I assume 2.5" OD if it's a T3/T4 Ebay turbo? I seen dyno testing for turbos indicating back pressure should be minimized , which they indicated to not restrict diameters less than what the turbo outlet was, else the max power was not achievable. I was planning to keep my 2" exhaust which I though could be used for myt urbo upgrade, but now thinking upgrading to 2.25", but now 2nd guessing a 2.5"
Hey bud good job 👍🏼 nice truck !!! Where did you find the info to fix the carb I’m also have weber 32/36 and I’ve install a turbo but can’t get it to run right!! Do you mind share some info about what to do to the carb ? Thanks in advance
Thank you. I’m running E85 so I had to drill out the jets pretty big. I used the small but set from harbor freight. Primary I had a 200 jet drilled out 2 but sizes up and secondary jet was drilled out till all was left was a sleeve with the threads on. 135 primary air corrector jet secondary air corrector was soldered shut. I used f6 emulsion tubes and switched out the single pumper to a dual. I also chopped the choke off so air flows directly into the carb. I used a 2” lce spiral spacer to help with the air/fuel mixture. It too me about 50 try’s to get it to run right. I’m still on the rich side but it works good. Also make sure you have a boost referenced fpr so fuel pressure and boost pressure is 1-1 ratio.
@@kamikaze_670 thanks for the info you have explained all ths good stuff but I’m not to good on carbs 🤦🏻♂️I thought it will be some info in the web with images or aome to understand better but I well I guess I have to find someone to fix it for me I’m only want to run like 5psi of boost since my motor is stock thanks a lot for the information you share 👍🏼

Had to go with the dual setup for this build
🔥🔥🔥🔥

Bro Super Clean Truck All Around!!!
Do you do swap jobs?
Par, you sure this your first ever build? Great truck! Very knowledgeable
First motor build/turbo setup.
Legit bro!!
super clean toyota pickup bro. one day I hope to own one like this. does the 89-95 grill, bumper and headlight assembly just bolt onto this gen? or did you have to fabricate adaptors?
You can bro 👌🏽 I had to make the brackets and the other thing I did was I extended the corner lamps to make the fitment better
nice ,we want to see it run
what he said
I’m looking forward built same same set up I have the truck ready need fine a shop will built it
Truck looks fantastic. Details on the windshield without the trim? Tired of dealing with it on my 87 2wd and 87 4x4 extracab.
I had my windshield guy install a universal rubber seal when I replaced it. He brought it over with the glass and It looked good so I went with it. The body was prepped and painted without the trim so the finish around it is clean.
MEAAANNN! 🤙🏻
Thanks 🤙🏽
Nice truck Give your life to JESUS
Amen
Have you had anything done to keep that frame solid? Great build overall!
Thank you 🙏🏽 and no mods on the frame it’s just lowered.
i need engine like this for my 92 pickup

I’m running 2.5” pipes with a flowmaster super10
Brutha, replace those JLs with sundown SD4s you not gonna regret. The box gotta be at least 0.5 cubes per sub tho
What steering wheel adapter did you use? Idk what to buy for my 90.
Hey bud good job 👍🏼 nice truck !!!
