I love that this isn’t super polished. It doesn’t make me feel like I should quit but instead makes me wanna pick up my guitar and get to playing. Not that I can play the solos for this song but man I appreciate the imperfect once through. Obviously I’m sure you could have done a solid perfect take but this is just so much more enjoyable to watch and listen to.
Thank you Matt. You and Corey are both the ones that got me even wanting to play guitar (and into metal specifically). This song (and album) takes me back to learning Trivium songs in my parents basement with a couple friends when we were in high school.
This song should return to the setlist, the solos are brutal, the riffs are powerful

I still remember how pumped I was driving around Gainesville in my 1995 Volkswagen Rabbit, listening to The Crusade when it dropped. Took my happy ass to FYE and grabbed a copy and have loved it since.
i wish i had a total count of how many times i've jammed this tune. Its so good and it aged so well, if i must say so myself. You performed it great as always. You've written some real bangers over the years, thank you.

I still remember getting the Guitar World issue that had this tabbed along with you guys doing a playthrough on the DVD (CD?!) and feeling super pumped when I could finally play the "forcing her own blood down..." riffs! So good!

I think Matt might just be a better guitar player compared to syn gates.
Rhythm wise yes Matt is probably better than Syn, but Syns leads and solo playing is superior imo
So many good metal bands peaked in the 2000s and just fell off or ran out of ideas. I'm sure you have a lot more fans now playing dad rock but I remember watching a stream you guys did a few years back on facebook where you were practically begging people to move or interact with the music at all while you were playing the older heavier stuff.
As someone who is trans - I really appreciate the Crusaid as an an album. rest in piece Matthew’ Shepard.
