@Deanswoodworking I have been “studying” quite a few gonk videos over the past few weeks and built a private library for my own reference (I have significant short term memory issues and rely on my CZcams library for reference). THIS video is going to the very top of the playlist. I love this approach more than any of the others and I know I’ve watched at least 25 so far. Thanks for such a cool way to go about it.

Lots of questions about the "fake fur". Amazon, JoAnn, Michaels and Hobby Lobby are your best bet for locating the fur if in the USA. Amazon has a good selection of the darker colors. When using hot glue and you want to get rid of those annoying glue strings you can hit them with a quick blast of hot air from a blow dryer. The gnomes are adorable. Gnomes are very big these days in the crafting world. I'm a paper crafter and have made many note cards with gnomes.

I like the method. I am however always nervous when I see a turner wearing a watch or a ring while turning. I have seen people get caught

I see no reason for turning the body and hat in two pieces, unless yo want to make them into a box.
