@Fuzzy it's not about having platonic female friends. It's about MOST of your friend group being comprised of platonic females. Men need some kind of friendly competitive drive amongst each other. Me and many of my friends weightlift and play sports together. If most of my friends were women I'd get absolutely tired of smoking them in athletic endeavors and I'd feel like A:they're not in a position to enjoy and grow in this mutual pastime if they keep getting beat by their male friend and B: I'd feel like I don't want to participate in anything we do together where I know I'm going to win because there's no competition and that isn't fun for anyone. Do you expect this shrieking mouthpiece to know anything about masculinity? He has no guy friends because when guys hang with him it feels like hanging with some chick who tagged along to guys night.
I remember reading a survey which found that heterosexual men, by and large, feel more comfortable being emotionally open with and confiding in their male friends than they did their female partners. The biggest reason the men reported was that they felt less judged by their friends than they did their girlfriends. There were so many negative responses to this survey and almost exclusively from women. They were accusing men of "toxic masculinity" (arguing that this showed that men don't see their girlfriends as people and reserve their emotional side for other men, seeing their girlfriends as just sex objects) and some were even accusing these men of being closeted gays. So these women respond like that then have the nerve to wonder why men think they're judgmental? I'm gay myself so I've never experienced those specific dynamics but, goddamn, I really feel for you straight guys sometimes. So often it's like you're stuck in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario.
They were shocked at the survey results because it went against everything they’ve been told to believe, and had to resort to insane levels of mental gymnastics to explain it away.

Copy paste: Emotions are problem solving mechanisms. The emotions he is talking about, the vulnerable emotions, are the emotions like sadness. Sadness, specifically the type you'd express to people, expressive sadness, which may manifest in many ways, like crying, for example, is a problem solving mechanism in the way that it gets others to feel for you, and to comfort you, and solve your problems for you so you don't have to. That is the most logical explanation of what expressive sadness exists that humanity has. In contrast, an emotion like anger, a problem solving mechanism, gives you an emotional brute drive to, yourself, go solve your own problems, instead of other people doing it. An opposite type of problem solving mechanism. There is a problem with sadness. It being pushed goes right along with the (largely modern left-wing) narrative and agenda, which is very feminine. Historically men and women had typically different emotions, because different things allowed them to survive, the manipulate others to get them to solve your own problems, instead of yourself solving your own problems, is a feminine emotion, as women couldn't properly provide for themselves, and men could provide for themselves, so men evolved more anger. Another example of this feminine narrative is giving the losing team of a football game a trophy, a trophy for participation, instead of celebrating hardwork and success. The modern narrative favors the feelings of the individual, above all. Above reason, above progress, above reality. It's why the left is pushing the anti-scientific narrative that if you cut off you p-nis and call yourself a woman, you become a woman. It's why they're pushing many other things, and obviously favoring the feelings of an individual is having negative consequences. Men have been taught to, not exactly surpress their emotions, but control them, tame them. As someone in the familial and societal unit had to be mature, had to provide, protect, lead, etc. Emotions like sadness would have these men crying and asking their wives for comfort. Emotions like anger would have these men keep it moving, fighting, for the greater good, at their own sacrifice. Modern society is teaching men to be incompetent, because modern society favors feelings. Modern society has become feminized and feminism is a massive part of it. Men need harsh reality, to be competent, to solve the very real probelms this world still has. Not to be emotional children who are incapable of handling probably the least amount of hardship that any man has throughout history (we're at the easiest point in history, which you'll know if you know history). The idea that men should be like women is unthinking propaganda. Men have lost their roots. I hope to contribute to re-revealing them. Men should not be like women. Men should not be incompetent emotionally thinking children. Men should be very widely capable, massively educated, intensely self aware, mature developed people. The lack of male testosterone turns men more into women. They start to think more like women. Think that emotionality should reign supreme.
Adams Problem is he thinks “man up” is used by men to stop emotions but it’s really used to help control them. There’s nothing wrong with fear, sadness or any other emotion as long as you don’t let them control your life. Fear is something we all feel it’s just part of life that’s all bravery is overcoming your fear cowardice is letting your fear overcome you. I feel Adam has spent too much of his life allowing others to convince him that men and manliness are bad.

It really feels like Adams whole perspective is shaped from someone on the outside of male friendship groups. He clearly failed the resilience testing I always found constantly amongst male friends through adolescence. We build trust and loyalty with our friends but we throw around jokes and insults, or even a dig to arm as I guess a kind of competency test, can you take it and give it back. I’ve always founds these rights of passage and challenges have built my character and its a good way boys socialise each other. The softer boys who cant take a hit or a joke and fold obviously see it as ‘toxic’ and like Adam fit in more with girls who’s friendships always seem more fake and easy and never seem to last as long.
it depends. When women are competing for men they silently hate eachother. Later in life when everyones married the female friendships tend to last longer. Men get socially lazy later in life

Something I have observed, maybe Joe experienced this, is that physical and performance sports/arts tend to have men who are more affectionate. I started martial arts when I was in junior high, and I initially found it weird that everyone was very physically close to each other. Over time it makes sense why they are close and that closeness feels good. Hugging it out after a grapple is a great way to remind each other that you are friends. I have observed this same thing in theatre kids, so maybe Joe finds these friends from martial arts and comedy.
That's actually a really good point and makes a lot of sense on why he can't relate. He had it good to be part of two of the most physical and social hobbies like that growing up. As for the rest of males who didn't have that chance or could never fit into those molds. It's hard. There's a double standard with men were it's weird to hug your homie in the hallway but it's totally okay for you to hug him after he kicked a ball into a goal. Maybe we have it built that "you have to earn this affection" in our heads which is why we're so competive.
It's funny except for the parts that make me respond with the same back at him. I mean the idea of men not being fully open with other male friends. If Joe is really surprised by that he's definitely ignorant. Sure we're better today and anecdotally some people have it fine but there's plenty of evidence out there to say on average men close off. The conflict is on semantics. Adam says close relationships. Joe thinks one thing. Adam thinks another. Both of them are sucking at communicating what they mean.

@SUPERNATURAL MAN people like me are the guys that own the companies that people like you bust their ass for, for basically pennies. Ill take it.
I think its more telling about you that you dont value friendships with women.
@SUPERNATURAL MAN i think its also telling that as much posturing you do, youre still a clueless blob with buffalo wings for brains.

Literally what I was thinking 😂 What a lame
Yeah he is so insecure i mean everything that he said by statistics is false tho he is so subjective.
The fact that he hasn’t proposed to his partner who he’s been with for 10 years tells me everything I need to know
It really feels like Adams whole perspective is shaped from someone on the outside of male friendship groups.
Great comment

in my experience Male friendships are higher quality than female friendships.
Less behind the back bullshit.
And it sounds like Adam got bullied a lot and had mostly female friends.
Chris Reeves yeah he kissed his guy friends
In my experience there's no difference. I've met assholes and dumbasses of both genders in equal measures. Friendship is overrated anyway
Because men are much more loyal on average than females, despite what modern day feminist brainwashing would have you believe.
it depends. When women are competing for men they silently hate eachother. Later in life when everyones married the female friendships tend to last longer. Men get socially lazy later in life

Straight men: Don't make out

That's all the confirmation an intersectional feminist beta male needs.
Haha very accurate! Infact I should have just gone straight to your comment and not watched the video because you so accurately summed up what Adam was saying!
adam is the kind of guy to have another dude nod down at him and spend the whole day trying to think about what it meant.
I have 3 male friends I love like family, can rely on for anything, and we emotionally support each other through difficult times. I never kissed any of them, and other than the occasional bro hug, there isn't physical touching. I think Adam is getting his sexual preferences mixed up with friendship.
"I like kicking ass sometimes, too!" Joe keeping a straight face here is epic self-control.
🤣😂
Real talk
Give the guy a break. He misspoke. We've all misspoken, before. He meant to say, "I like dicking ass, sometimes, too!" See, a simple mistake.

Dog not true at all. Anyone can get ripped and push thru you just gotta man up.
@Dog If you put them into war or a pressuring survival environment you'll either get PTSD kids who lock up and stop reacting or men who take the moment and lead.
@Dog so what if they don't want to? How does it affect you? Why do you care?
Amen
@@Mooskislide rule number one of a "pressuring survival environment" you don't "react," you need to be PROactive. It's a good thing to stop reacting. Someone with better than a child's understanding of manliness or survival would know that. Sounds like you'd be the type of idiot who would shoot your own man in a combat situation, or roll your car over overcorrecting a swerve and kill your whole family. Your fucked up misconceptions of what a "man" is are the reason for this discussion. If locking up and doing nothing wasn't a survival tactic, men who do that wouldn't survive to pass on their genes (natural selection etc) so get out of your fantasy land, where "survival" is shooting people and get into the real and highly specialized world, where being a man means looking out for others and a manly accountant can go his whole life without needing to be in a gunfight or survive in the fucking woods.

What do men need? The problem is that most of us pretend that a "real man" doesn't need anything. That you should have it all. "Man up" means you're on your own, and you should be okay with that. You should have the drive, the stamina, the knowledge, the brawn to handle anything life throws at you. Is that true?
