what is the average on the nilgiri drive
Are the bends in last 40 kms too tough ? I am comfortable in driving on NH, but yet to make a trip to hilly areas.
would not say too tough but they definitely are not like the usual turns or hairpins.
If you have good grip on your car and can control the speed, you will be able to cover it without issues.
And it will be a great experience.
It would be easier with automatic car. Ours is manual and was a good experience.

Hi hello, I find that the video was uploaded 9 days ago. In the video, the Bandipur and Mudumalai forest looks lush green, which is generally not in the winter months. Can u confirm the exact date of capturing the forest video. Because I want to visit when the forest when they are lush green. Pls confirm.

We have not really used any car rental services, so might not be the right people to comment on this.
But zoomcar, revv and Ola are quite known in this segment.

We travelled in October and November which is a great time to visit.
Winter months are preferable weather wise.
How long did it take for the drive?
Took us 6hrs including break
Is May month good to visit ooty?
We have not been to Ooty in May.
The weather should be comfortable (not as pleasant as winter months though).
Oct onwards (post monsoon) till Feb is perfect to get the best of Ooty weather.
I have a plan next month. How about the drive from masinagudi to Ooty.I just started driving 2 years back and never tried any hill station
There are hairpin turns in this stretch and pretty sharp ones.
If yours is an automatic car, then there is no issue at all.
Our is manual (which I prefer) and by not speeding too much in the turns, it can be covered without any problems.
There will always be a first time 🙂.

Which is the best route in terms of safe and easy driving? Is it Bandipur > Masinagudi > Kalhatty or Bandipur > Mudumalai > Gudaluru
Mudumalai route has many hairpins just before entering Ooty but the road condition is better.
Masinagudi route would be relatively easier to drive. When we went, some stretch of the road was under construction so faced bad road. If that is complete, then this could be the option.
