if your not riding it on the road you need slicks and spare wheels with wets or if you are riding on the road two sets of spare wheels with track tires
Happy to see the SV is in solid condition overall. I wondered what it would look like as you started digging into it. And thumbs up for supporting a Michigan retailer in STG!
Me too! Always a risk buying a budget bike but this one definitely worked out in my favor :) I have another heap of stuff to order from them soon! I was sold when an actual person responded to my email, and responded very quickly.
Looks great, good find! In DC those get stolen pretty quickly when parked in the street. The different accents were fun! Also the “banana’d” linkage, that was a very accurate description
Thanks amigo :) DC sounds like somewhere I would not like to live 😂😂😂 Just sounds like Ireland. Haha I don't do them on purpose, they just come out. Yeah I'd really like to know how it happened 😂
Thank you good sir! If it cools down a little bit it'll be very fun 😂 I haaaaate painted screens 🤢 I'm very happy with them 😁 I have a sucker for a wee bit of colour tho.
Great find, and your list of jobs is pretty good for the pocket, too. Catching up on vids (up to date now, ride outs were ace). Being able to keep the z is great, and having a dedicated track bike must be a real plus. Human over corp whenever possible for me! Jobs - interested in all, especially fork "refurb". Cheers, Andy.
Orange brake lines should contrast nicely with the colour of the sv650. I bough YSS rear shock for my GSXR 1100. If you get them for the SV650, I will be keen to see your thoughts on them.
100% clear screens all day long! Def change the fairing stay, it might not pass scrutineering unless you do (unless you can maybe JB Weld it back on? Not a lot needed and an absolute bargain price paid for a running bike with low ish miles. Is it not worth buying a Nitron rear shock, they seem a popular choice for mini-twin racing and are not excessively expensive, saves buying twice?
Clear is the way. I've found a relatively affordable aluminium replacement so I'll go for that, JB weld wouldn't hold it I'd say it's fairly goosed. It really is. Like I'd have to do the bulk of the work I'm doing with any bike yano!! Man they're crazy expensive over here, probably due to duties and nonsense. I'll figure something out thats in budget as I'd really rather not waste money on a spring for the cooked stock unit.
@@TheGorillaBiker Ahh, that makes sense... and be a lot lighter too. Ahh, I forgot about them cheeky import charges for the USA, and postage too I guess. Makes sense if you can get the replacement sprung for you at the same time 🙂
I wouldn't say MUCH faster but is it a fair bit faster yes, its much lighter, about the same peak power, more torque etc etc, more sporty frame geometry and all that. Just very different bikes!
I already have an srad! It's just far away. Plus they wouldn't work in the class I want to race in with my amigo. Hahaha the more colour the better imo! Have you used a YSS shock? Corps suck eh.
@@TheGorillaBiker I've fitted a few YSS shocks on a range of bikes from a goldwing to an R1 and owners all liked the feel of them And no bad feedback but none of them were track bikes mind
Bike goes zoom zoom! xD You just wanna get on and go for the track days xD So the name of the bike shall be Orangina! (and now if you google it you'll probably want to chase me ahahhahaha)
Whoa, I’m starting to get sick…, you’re moving the camera way too much… . Walking around with camera in hand isn’t a good method for videoing (imo..) good luck in your endeavor 👍😎
I'm just a normal human working in a garage on my own! I sadly don't have a fancy stabilised camera and some shots are impossible to do on the tripod :) Thanks!
What would be your first go to to change? Really overall I'm very happy despite the few bits I need to do!

@heatz711 aye I had all that at home in Ireland with the srad! I meant more actual modifications :) It'll be slow going to get everything I need!

Looking forward to you getting this on track. Loved how happy you were with the orange braided lines.
@@tomstc me toooo. Hopefully I can get a day in very very soon. Haha I love a good set of braided lines 😂
Looks great! Some fun work to do for you. The new screen is so much better. Those orange brake lines are going to pop in the best possible way.

I hope it will be!! Actually much cleaner than I was hoping too!!

I thought so, plus I mean, orange yano. Have to have bright colours on a track bike.
I probably will as I can sort of afford it!! I'll let you know :)
I know that you have the skills to make this bike sing.
We shall hope. So far anyone could fix this up to be fair it's all very minor :)
Thank you for the content, I look forward to seeing the mechanical upgrade videos.
Thanks for watching!! Hopefully I'll have plenty coming soon :)
Love these service videos,is there any chance you can do a changing the coolant video on the z900rs after you finish the sv, thanks in advance
