Remember that when you do stuff outside your comfort zone and you do take those steps towards recovery, you will feel symptoms. There's not a single person. I know, including myself who didn't have symptoms during their recovery.
Your success and your recovery are determined by how well you respond to symptoms. So just know that symptoms are not the worst thing ever and don’t mean your recovery is failing or not working.

Ssri is what caused my chronic fatigue symptoms
Me too the first time
right they make me feel like im a drug addicted ... ssri ruin the gut bio and trick the brain that they produce more serotonin but insted they block the receptors
Same - never had fatigue issues until being on SSRIs. Now, still suffering with cfs like symptoms 3 yrs later
@@98love7 I have Gerd after taking ppi for 3 months and 3 weeks antibiotics , Developed CFS , Doctors are responsible for this.
same here from paroxetine
Not necessarily the best advice, SSRIs and SNRIs are known to trigger or worsen autonomic dysfunction (sometimes becoming POTS)
It’s not advice, just sharing my experience!
Everyone reacts differently
@@cfsrecoverywe know you just had some weakness in your mind Miguel. :)
That explains why my fatigue became worse even though anxiety was better. Made brain fog worse, gave me pots and triggered apnea and insomnia.
What’s POTS??
Cfs has taught me to resolve my mental health issues. There is no quick cure or hacks. Just you and your mind
You're absolutely right - addressing mental health is a powerful step in the journey of healing. Your self-awareness and determination are truly inspiring. Keep focusing on your well-being, one step at a time! 🌟💪😊
Bs af. CFS is not about your mind. Do not spread bs, thank you.
How did you resolve your mental issues?
Unfortunately when you are very physically sick it becomes impossible.
The right supplements are truly a gamechanger. I would not be able to get through this without them. Not even close. I was totally depleted.
I only take a Magnesium supplement (4 diff kinds of Mg in one) and it has helped reduce the intensity of anxiety & panic attacks, and made the symptoms more manageable.
What brand do you take?
Now I take Dr. Mercola Magnesium L-Threonate and it is very good. It reduced my stress levels. I am looking for some other supplements. Can you recommend me some?
@@indiequa I used to take "Natural Flow 4X Magnesium Supplement" off of Amazon :)

I’m struggling so much I have school and work and chronic fatigue it sucks 😔😔😔I’m tired of it
It can be incredibly challenging to juggle school, work, and chronic fatigue. Remember to prioritize self-care and seek support when needed. You're stronger than you think, and I believe you can overcome this. Sending you a virtual hug 🤗 and the strength to persevere. 💪😊

How are you doing now?
removing aspartame, gluten, diary, sugar, energy drinks, processed food and increase liposomal vitamin c and using methylated b-vitamins helpt me.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Btw, make sure you don’t have adhd, I was chronic fatigue 20 yrs before diagnosis, ssri’s helped me too, because they are useful for depression that goes hand in hand with cfs and or adhd.
👍
How are you now liz?
so did knowing you have ADHD help with CFS somehow?
@@aenera6555 yes, turns out I probably don’t have cfs, or fibromyalgia.. my overwhelming and debilitating fatigue was likely the result of the stress of a long life of stress due to adhd. I was watching a video with a psychiatrist talking about cfs, and adhd, and something clicked, and the more I researched ( my son and siblings diagnosed long before this) the more I felt I was onto something.
12 months of stimulants on.. I still get bouts of fatigue, but before I wouldn’t / couldn’t even make plans, because I just couldn’t move.. now I make plans without fear, knowing the fatigue is very bearable. I have started relearning every skill I’d ever learnt and forgotten, including basic organisation/ planning/ time management, am more motivated, and most importantly, no longer feel utterly useless and hopeless.
@@pritamkumarbehera1294 Im Sorry, I never saw your comment till now. Doing 100% better, but still not fully functional.. after being unwell for so long, I’ve forgotten how to think! I’m relearning life, slowly, but have motivation, and hope.
Vitamin B12 shots (25,000 mcg) made me couch bound/bed bound and unable to talk to fully conversing again.
Also no longer bed bound, couch bound, or house bound anymore. But still difficulty driving and nervous system is whacked.
It’s the single most powerful thing I’ve took. Guanfacine also made me feel almost completely normal, but effects only lasted for about 3 weeks at a time (which was expected) and the rebound from when it stops working made me temporarily worse, so it wasn’t worth continuing to take.
That said, for those with ME/CFS and hyper POTS, guanfacine is good if you plan accordingly. But for me, the first few days results in somnolence (sleeping all the time and not being able to wake up). But the next 10 days after that are nice. Much more powerful than addictive anxiety medication.
I was the same I was spending thousands as soon as I started on SSRI,s I realised all the supplements were useless 🤸🙏🌅
@@kyleday7135 what is guanfacine ?
Thank you for your honesty- anti anxiety meds are helping me too, although I realise how much work I have to still put in.
You're welcome! It's great to hear that anti-anxiety medication is providing some relief for you. Remember, although medication can be a helpful tool in managing symptoms, but it's also important to combine it with other self-care practices and strategies to address the underlying causes of anxiety. Keep putting in the effort and exploring different approaches that work for you. You're on the right path, and with time and dedication, you can make progress in your journey towards better mental well-being. Keep up the good work!
hi, miguel. can u talk more about the severe brain fog? it feels like young onset dementia right now, been feeling like this for more than a year now. how long will the brain fog last? issues with memory, concentration, attention, logic. feels like my brain shut down and shrivelled up
Hi there, I actually made a video about this! Search up brain fog on my channel and you’ll see a video dedicated to it
My CFS .... decades of horror...brain fougue specifically.
my two years of brain fog were the two worst years of my life. It will get better! I slowly 'trained' myself to walk for 20 seconds then sit. walk 20 sec, sit, close eyes, breath, repeat. next day 30 seconds. good luck
What about mushrooms like cordyceps, lion’s mane and reishi for example?
I do not think he knows these. They are also very expensive.
i tried those - they did not work for me

Hi how dose and type are you suplement?
I think your right .I've stopped taking anti depressants recently and totally crashed unable to get out of bed 😶🌫️🥴. Your totally right
You might have come off them too soon!
I’ve noticed something similar. I had been on an SSRIS for over 5 years for anxiety. I came off of it 4 months ago as it didn’t seem to be doing anything for the anxiety. I now have joint pain, muscle pain, brain fog and crazy body stiffness ever since. Hurts to walk at times.
I’m now starting to wonder if maybe it wasn’t doing much for the anxiety, but was keeping my nervous system calm enough to prevent all this other pain.
I’ve been to the doctors a few times now, have gotten blood work done and they haven’t found anything wrong.
@@paxtonjohnson3696 this is where you really have to implement the brain retraining for chronic pain exercise! I got super achy all over every time I would taper down my medication. I always thought I was getting sick because of the flu like symptoms, but after the third or fourth taper, it was pretty clear that at all I had to do was brain retrain and that would make the symptoms go away a lot faster

@@teddybearroosevelt1847Did anything help?
Thanks for sharing this helpful information!
You're so welcome
I have long covid not CFS so it may be slightly different but there are some supplements that have definitely helped me.
- a high dose of lipsomal turmeric
- a high dose of fish oil
Both of these are anti-inflammatories and have helped calm down high inflammation, joint/muscle pain and improved my speed of healing.
Interestingly I have learnt that the high dose of fish oil I take is as effective as certain low dose pharmaceutical antidepressants - so worth a try if you don't want to go the drugs route for this.
- a pre/probiotic and vitamin D
Massively improved some histamine issues I was experiencing. Working on gut health in general for this reason.
- ashwaganda, rhodiola, b vitamin complex
- DIM
Both of these are taken intermittently to help regulate my menstrual hormones. My symptoms used to be much worse in the lead up to my period but using these supplements has helped to even things out.
I also took an antihistamine/anti-anxiety medication for more than a year which has helped and hindered me. It helped in the early days because it made me sleep and that made it easier to process what was happening to me. Coming off the medication has been a real bitch though. Rebound insomnia and rebound histamine issues... that I am still trying to solve.
Above all of these the most effective intervention has been to reduce stress and go to therapy. I've processed a lot of old trauma and generally respond better to my crashes now. Also the obvious one - pacing and energy management.
Which medication?
@yhh850 it was a prescribed antihistamine. Not recommended for long term use and I was on it for way too long which is part of why I became dependant on it. If you're having issues with sleep/anxiety I recommend discussing medication with your doctor.
What do you mean by high dose fish oil ? Omega 3 ? How much did you take please ?
@briechilli4496 I take a fish oil supplement by Hey Nutrition. It contains 660mg EPA and 440mg DHA. I also eat oily fish regularly which increases my fish oil intake. I believe 600mg DHA was used in a study and found to be comparable with antidepressants. It was in a huberman podcast but unfortunately I can't remember which one right now. The interesting thing about it was that they also found regular antidepressants don't work if you don't have enough DHA in your system. So basically doctors should be prescribing fish oil before they even try antidepressants.
@@joannebuttner thankyou so much for your reply. I am dealing with long covid which left me chronically fatigued with debilitating anxiety and scary brain fog. I love Huberman. I will get the fish oil (DHA/EPA). Thank you again x

For me: Valtex lessened the flu like symptoms, Cymbalta lessened the migraines. And then Ativan took away all the symptoms and I started to heal. Those two weeks of healing helped for months. However I still cannot find a doctor that will put me on Ativan for a short term stint like I was for those two weeks of being hospitalized. When on the Ativan I was well enough to do neural retraining, however I had not learned about that yet. Im still trying to get this help so I can be well enough to work on permanently calming my stuck flight or flight response. If you have recommendations of providers who understand and can help please share
I'm willing to be committed to do this. I just need a place that will let me do the neural retraining.
Honestly, i can’t recommend a doctor in your area that could give you Ativan as I don’t know where you’re from and I’m also not a doctor.
Lexapro has helped me a lot. Too much of it worsens my fatigue and insomnia. I take very tiny amounts and it dampens the adrenaline and feelings of fear and doom. This along with seeing a therapist who taught me CBT and seeing life with a new perspective.
Good for you!
For me too, I can’t say any meds or supplements helped me.. as soon I started learning the art of pacing and following Irene Lyon course I started feeling much better and I’m seeing results slowly and steadily

i have the same experience, lorazepam really helped me be able to exert myself more without crashing due to it basically desensitizing what was an already over sensitized nervous system that would just over respond to everything. Also ritalin helps a lot with certain crashes where i feel really mentally drained, unable to concentrate on anything which usually happens after a post exersion malaise crash, its not because its a stimulant, its because my dopamine levels just hit the floor and it levels them out (if you get the dose right). I was never adviced to take these but I asked thinking it could help and it helped way more than i could have expected and neuropsychiatrists etc ive seen since agree with it, so if youre having similar symptoms could be something to think about just be extremely careful with benzo dosages over a long period. I stick to strickly 2mg/day max but usually only half that for lorazepam, can get extremely dangerous if you keep increasing over time

There’s always an underlying cause for chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia no way is it mental I’ve had it for 10 years it all started when I had h.pylori I don’t have it anymore but that was definitely the cause I’m going to try a functional medicine doctor and see where I get to
Good for you 😁
I saw a functional medicine doctor who found a toxic mold issue which makes it difficult to heal from other chronic fatigue issues until that’s cleared. Likely it’s one of the first things they will aim to rule out for you. There’s a test you can take, a way to sample your home for mold spores and a dna marker that they can correlate to individuals who have a more difficult time detoxifying and clearing the mold. It took a year of treatment and a treatment of our home but the mold is gone. Still moderate to severe chronic fatigue home bound except for trips to doctors and church every so often. They should also check for Lyme disease. They may do one at a time and if so my practitioner told me mold first as the other treatments don’t stick if that is not done. It’s too much for the immune system to battle side by side.
