Sarajevo/Versailles is my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite songs period.. I consider it to be one two part song. A very powerful prelude to the next war...
Eh. Its cool that the chorus is the opposite (and even part of) Versailles at the end. But its half speaking dialogue and half a repeated section (lyrically). Instruments are good though
The duke actually at the point he climbed to the car that he died in knew about assassination. There was an attempt before he entered that car. And he was offered a way out. But his wife insisted that it is safe at this point. Black Hand however striked again and certain student killed both the archduke and his wife...
Sarajevo and Versailles are 2 separate songs. The lyrics are similar. Sarajevo is about the beginning of the war. Versailles is about the treaty ending the war as well as foreshadowing WW2.
