I love whichever editor is putting the snarky comments in the yellow text
"I'll just tape some snakes on my robe."

“I’ll just tape a snake to my staff”

@@NStripleseven oh no. That guy was a druid.
Thought I'd see Immovable Rod on this list
Only had one and it saved me or helped me so many times.
The possibilities are limitless
Magic Missile says "the first spell they teach you ar wizard school" and FireBall says "the second spell you learn at wizard school", I didn't realize they gave that much depth to the fireball joke.
Bruh, Bag of Tricks is just a Pokémon Trainer's bag with RNG. I want it now.
My character has that in one of my campains :D
@@Maximum7077 unfortunately never got to have one
I find it is both fun and useful. And comic relief when something you don’t want appears.
I'm telling you man. Decanter of Endless Water. Thats the absolute nuts right there
why
@@Tashkeen imagine having a one way force fire hydrant you could use at any time.
With the right set up you could even make your own motor boat
Stone of Good Luck is pretty baller. +1 to every ability check and save, this includes initiative, death saves, and skill checks. It also applies to passive ability checks like passive perception. Kinda thought I’d see it on this list for all it does.
Insignia of Claws
5:11 "If you survived long enough to aquire this as a monk"
Oof.
Honestly I was looking for something fun to give to my party,
This one definitely makes the list.
For the staff of the python i usually scale the pythons thats to the current difficulty of the campaign, like at low levels make it a bit weaker but as the party gets stronger it gets stronger too, and making it need to take a rest after dying rather than shattering, making it more of a permanent pet than a low level crutch
There's so many great Uncommon items many are overshadowed, for example the Winged Boots are obviously better than the Ring Of Water Walking BUT the ring doesn't require attunement.
Other neat non-attunement items like:
- Boots of Elvenkind
- Goggles of Night
- Eversmoking Bottle
- Periapt of Health
- Wand of Secrets
How do you use the Eversmoking bottle?
@@VeteranVandal smoke wall and running away if needed
The new best armor from Candlekeep is the Serpent Scale Armor.
This suit of magic armor is made from shimmering scales. While wearing it, you can apply your full Dexterity modifier (instead of a maximum of +2) when determining your Armor Class. In addition, this armor does not impose disadvantage on your Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
Broom of flying is totally one of the best early items gives flying without attunement of 50ft/30ft depending on weight and has no time limit plus you can send it and recall it back to a location within 1mile you know/familiar with so great for scouts to send info back to the party and other things one of the most underused items
Bag of holding + necromancy = instatroops.
Bag of holding has a 500 pound limit, so that is about 5 zombies or 12 skeletons. Guess which I would recommend...
"I cast magic missiles at the darkness!"
Personally i make this actually destroy magical darkness in my games, purely bc i love this reference
The darkness takes 12 force damage.... Roll for initiative....
Boots are nice, but I prefer the BROOM of Flying. It's like riding a mount, but with hovering!
Wow the editing is so good and well aligned, I really like the transitions. It’s rare to see highly edited videos about dnd so this is a welcome change of pace
Spell gems (lapis for example) are amazing items to have in early play because you can attune to them before a long rest and store a spell in them for use. you can technically have a cleric attune each night to those and unattune afterwards to create basically healing potions for free and hand them out to the other spell casters that can technically learn them.
I would have to say that in D&D the bag of holding is THE most important uncommon magic item to have for any party that has any issues with weight, carrying space, etc. . As a rule of thumb most level one characters can barely lug their basic supplies around whatever they own when they first start out (imagine yourself being a murder hobo trying to store EVERYHING you own in a backpack or duffel bag including food and a extra set of cloths and moving from town to town) and on top of that also have to carry heavy armor and weapons. Then try to imagine doing so in a way that will not effect your ability to run around a battlefield when your group is attacked. In a nutshell this is impossible unless the DM decides to look the other way when it comes to how much you can carry. In real life, medieval knights or mercenaries would rely on squires, porters, mules, and what not to help with this task but most DMs I've played with explain something along the lines that NO porter would ever work for adventures because it is too dangerous (even if you can pay them the equivalent of several months salary for a few days of work) and mules and other animals tend to get attacked within minutes of being left alone by themselves or undoing their ropes and running away with all the stuff you place on them. Even the idea of trying to bury and hide equipment isn't really an option since creatures in D&D have something like radar when comes to looking for gold and/or adventures equipment and they will find it within a few moments when it is left unguarded even if you take great pains to try and hide them.
In a nutshell in my experience there are only two options and one is either be ready to calculate encumbrance, explain where everything is being stored, and deal with any penalties when it comes to carrying all your weapons, armor, equipment, and/or treasure all by your little lonesome OR have a bag of holding and/or other magical items like it and stuff all garbage in there and not worry about it...or at least not as much.
Damm you have mean DM's
A donkey or mule is 8 gp and carries 420 pounds. Buy one and leave it outside the dungeon until it is time to haul loot.
Cloak of elvenkimd should have been mentioned, even if as a honourable mention, advantage on stealth rolls and imposing disadvantage on perc rolls to find you is really good for Rogues, imposing disadvantage is a -5 on PP if the creature relies on Sight to spot them, in combat, with ample cover your stealth rolls will rarely fail
Hi Karier! Would the Cloak of Elvenkind be helpful for a half-elf Shepherd Druid? Meaning, general Wild Shape isn't very useful in combat for me, and I'm actually pretty weak at low levels. Thanks! You sound knowledgeable, lol!😁🌈❤
@@Karina-Loves-Andreas Well, if you have a shepherd druid, their action would not really be used to enter stealth, you have stronger spells/action than to just hide
in combat that is
Outside of combat, depending on the DM ofc, your wild shapes may be allowed to benefit from the bonuses of the cloak, making you a top tier inflitrator!
Hope this helps, if you have any more questions, i'd be glad to answer them
@@karier7921 You are a lovely human being!! Thanks! So many choices & decisions. My DM pushed me into the "Hermit" background, actually pretty lousy though thematic. I want to see if he'll let me find an uncommon item, give him a few choices (like Bag of Holding or the Missile Staff) to use my prime "benefit" of "Discovery", which otherwise is completely LAME🤣🤣🤣
@@karier7921 And honestly, I keep hearing how "Shepherd Druids" (I'm half elf) are "overpowered". At low levels, I have crap armor, I can use a shield & staff, but my hands are full. I can't use a ranged weapon like a longbow or crossbow. I picked up "Magic Stone" so at least I have some kind of ranged weapon. And I bought a sling, and so far, DM isn't making a fuss about whether I'm "proficient" with the sling for my magic stones. But I'm worthless in Melee & Ranged attacks for the most part. I took Shepherd Druid because I'm supposed to be the party of 4s "primary healer". But in combat, all I want to do is hide, I feel so weak!! If I can get one decent boon as a hermit with "Discovery", I'd feel less insecure. But doubt he'd just give me Missile Staff at my request. Thinking if I can offer him a few decent options, maybe he'll go for it. I LOVE my group, 2 are long time friends of mine. But DM isn't super communicative, and on first session after Session Zero (with a "mini combat"), almost a TPK. 4 players, 2 rolling death saves, 2 of us at 1 HP left. Is that how it normally goes? Not saying we should vanquish every foe like a walk in the park. But felt extreme for four noob players, against 4 wolves and a couple goblins. Tbh: halfway thru, I looked at opponents hit stats, and felt the DM had to have his thumb on the scales, because we were giving more HP that hit that they shouldn't all have been unscathed, but DANG: they were apparently the STRONGEST wolves & goblins in history, near as I could tell. So yep, trying to find advantages where I can.
PS: DM is truly a nice guy, very smart, the only experienced player among us, 1st time as DM for him. But he's NOT a jerk, even if he seems to want to kill us all before we get our legs under us. I've invested A LOT of time & energy into figuring out rules, character build, buying & painting minis, etc. Is a low level party of 4 noobs supposed to typically have 1 HP left for 2 players, 2 throwing Death Saves on what feels like "low level combat"? If you say "yes, expect that each time", I'll just have my next character ready in pocket, and be far less invested than I have been, lol. Again-- THANKS!!❤😁🌈
@@Karina-Loves-Andreas My suggestion is to have a good look through the features and spell list, the summon spells you get soon are extremely powerful and with your features they synergise really well!
An item i would highly suggest is Nature's Mantle, is an uncommon magic item that lets druid and ranger hide as a bonus action!
Highly, highly suggest it for a more supportive druid
Insignia of the Claw isn't nearly as important to a moon druid, as they get Primal Strikes at 6th level. Sure, the +1 is nice, but it's certainly not the only path to druids overcoming a requirement to hit things only damageable by magic attacks.
Yes
I love the _weapon of warning._ It's one of my favorite weapons in all of 5e. You could just get a _dagger of warning_ or a _light crossbow of warning_ or whatever and let a rogue or wizard or sorcerer keep it so the other more weapon dependent classes can get better stuff. And even on those other classes, it's still great to have.
Also, still love your work. I'm very happy to be subscribed to your channels. I'm happy for you that you were able to turn this into your job
After watching a ton of your videos as a DM I decided to subscribe as I have a 50 or so videos watched policy. Keep up the great work!
Lol, I forgot you started a d&d channel. That was the strongest moment of that guy sounds familiar I think I've ever had on youtube 🤔
Dalton, you here? Now that's a surprise. I love your asmr videos.
I'm playing a Paladin with 6 intelligence. I'm having a lot of fun rp'ing that aspect of him. But it would create so much RP potential if the party ever came across a headband of intellect and gave it to him.
If he doesn't suddenly develop a British accent, it's wasted potential.
@@TheLanceUppercut I wish I could do one. I'm poor at imitating most accents.
Best moment I've seen for that was when the barn had a headband but refused to give it up when a better set of loot came along, and really once you have it giving it up is rather too close to choosing a lobotomy for me.., hard choice to force on someone...
Staff of the Python on the list. RIP Steve. You will be missed
I was under the impression that you could do bonus actions on anyone's turn
I'd love to see a part two!
Yes! Please! Another video on this!!
Actually, moon druids get the ability to deal magical dmg with their wild shape. So the insignia wouldn't be that big of a deal.
Primal Strike
Starting at 6th level, your attacks in beast form count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
But it would give them an increased chance to hit and increase their dmg somewhat. So It would still be a good item.
Yeah, I was going to say the same. Non-Moon druids don't even get that much out of attacking in Wild Shape. But, he did say these were mostly useful only from level 1-5, before Primal Strike is an option.
One I thought wouldve been on there at least as an honorable was the +1 Rod of the Pact Keeper. Sure it's locked to Warlocks but an extra +1 to spell attack and spell save DC is nice, but the real treat is the ability to regain a Warlock spell slot once per long rest
The Serpent Scale armor might be OP tbh, medium armor that lets you use your full dex modifier to add to AC, doesn't impose disadvantage on stealth and it makes dex paladins way more viable???? Sign me up
I love Winged Boots. I fondly remember a one-shot one of our group's DM came up with, in which we would roll the most ridiculously OP level 10 characters we could think of, and he would throw some deadly encounters at us to see what happened. I made a Gloomstalker/Battle Master, and game him a +2 bow and Winged Boots. I made Flying Legolas. And I outdamaged the rest of the party combined on every single round.
i once had a wizard put fireballs on a bag of holding... the bag became a nuke with around 40 fireballs inside it, it was a suicide vest essentially.
Ah yes I do love being an aarakocra in my game who keeps on being given the option to gain flying abilities due to random dice rolls and having like 3 different ways to use the levitate spell (which admittedly is actually ridiculously useful due to the fact that it allows me to have multiple attempts to entirely incapacitate an enemy or to be able to give my party members a pseudo flying ability at will multiple times without resting or using spell slots). It’s just kinda funny that the flying party member just has all these different options to keep flying.
*Nice list .*
Nice list my friend, thanks again!
Actually, wrt your narration for Insignia of Claws, Moon Druid's Wildshape ability does provide them magical status for attacking, with the 6th level "Primal Strike" ability learned.
Also, regarding the Bag Of Tricks, maybe not all of the critters are useful in combat but for a Druid or Ranger, with the right ability/spell, they have 3 excellent scout companions for a day.
My Eldritch Knight used the Headband of Intellect from lvl 8 on. His spellcasting kept up (mostly) with the dedicated spellcasters while not spending any Feat / Stat boosts on Int (leaving it at 13 for the whole game).
The Bag of Tricks has given me and my party members all quick emergency mounts for a crazy getaway during a bad/ successful heist. We had the Grey bag though
But it was still pretty sweet to ride away on a Dire Wolf and Giant Elk, while a Panther mauled our pursuers.
For reference the Dire Wolf was carrying one Dwarf, one Gnome and a Goblin
The Giant Elk was carrying our human paladin, teifling bard and half-elf sorcerer in it's antlers
5:30 your attacks become magical at lvl 6?
i never knew you had a d&d channel! i only watched the Yu-Gi-Oh one
If youve got Winged Boots at number 1, then the Broom of Flying would be at 0.5, because taht thing is better than the Winged Boots in EVERY single way, bar the weight limit (which is a non factor to begin with if youre not a heavy bastard.)
Would love to see a part 2 of this
I love the boots of Flying, my barbarian in AL had them and he's like fly up and over the mooks and punch that smirking drow in the face!
Fire, Mr. Logs
I'd argue that the mizzium gauntlets should get an honorable mention here as they allow you to cast any spell from your class provided you pass an arcana check and if you fail, you still may get a good spell out of it. also you can get arcana bonuses to be +17+2d4 if you go vedalken expertise arcana max intelligence guidance which is pretty ridiculous
17 chronurgy wizard, 2 stars druid, 1 peace cleric, play Vedalken and enjoy the entire wizard, cleric, and druid spell list. It's insane.
Yoooo you do DnD too?? I came from the yugioh channel and just got into dnd so this is awesome
My party doesn’t use any kind of encumbrance for some reason so we kinda just have invisible, infinite-weight bags of holding on us in place of backpacks
Can confirm my DM has wanted to delete my existence as this was the first magic item I ever bought and I’ve crushed so many encounters just by flying.
Do subclass videos. Both Best and Worst. I know is a bit preference, but, i like to see you preferences.
I tend to not give many of these items to my players, but I look forward to giving these to my players while they are in the lower tier of play before they quickly level up.
1:15 my fav use of it: using it to store as many skeletal corpses in it as possible to summon a skeletal archer army lol
Oh man, i'm subscribed to your Duel logs channel and had no idea you had a d&d channel.
10:53 I waaaaaaarned you!
A true conosiur
Regarding Insignia of Claws....Moon druids get this feature at lvl 6
"Starting at 6th level, your attacks in beast form count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage"
Regarding the Bag of holding "druid party trick"....Unless the party is made up of small sized players (gnomes, halflings, etc), it wont work. The bag of holding only holds 500 pounds and a maximum 64 cubic feet. Good luck fitting multiple medium sized creatures in there. That being said...the negative effect of putting a bag of holding inside another Bag of holding...Only works with ITEMS...THUS, if you say...have someone go into the bag of holding and cast rope trick...the bag of holding WILL NOT explode and open a gate to the astral plane.
Portable Rope Trick :)
That snake robe would be a great " emergency button" for when being outnumbered or out gunned...
"The Druid Party Trick" is a great name for something.
Mr. Editor out here being savage to the monks 5:11
My party for a round of magic items when he hit 4th level and both the headband of intellect and staff of python were among them. The staff going to the druid and the headband going to the psi warrior fighter
I feel like it'd be really easy to geek out about stuff with Hiru
Gauntlets of ogre power for a cleric especially a cleric with heavy armor, headband of intellect for a eldritch knight or arcane trickster, allowing you to put points where they are normally! And still have a good go with these subclasses
5:13 the Eldrich Claw Tattoo also can make wildshape attacks magical
The headband of intellect is great for the person who has the lowest Int or the person in the party doing Investigation/History/Arcana/... checks, so probably Rogues or Bards if you have no Wizard or Artificer
Sorcerer: Summons a CR 0 creature; grins and gives a mouse dragon breath!
I love staff of python, my druid got it early on in the campaign and named it Boa. It was basically my PC's companion, really cool
Already better than beastmaster ranger
@@deathwrow9652 lol
the weapon of warning: I warned u!!
Would the wand of magic missile total expenditure d20 roll be effected by the halflings luck feature?
So the vast majority of this stuff has always existed in D&D. Good to know the originals are still some of the best.
Now I am imagining an artificer with a high powered bolt action rifle that fires 6th level magic missiles
You could dumpstat your str and use finesse weapons until you get power gauntlets as well and still get +4 dmg from two handed weapons etc.
I think that there are 3 bags of holding in our group and we have the emergency plan of putting one of them inside of the other with a mage hand to get rid of a problematic enemy
The gauntlet of ogre power is the perfect fix to the pact of the blade then afterwards all you need is medium armor/ shield proficiency
It's true you don't normally want to put a bag of holding inside another bag of holding. Unless the BBEG of the entire Campaign is right beside you and you want to eliminate them by any means necessary.
Oh and Insignia of claws does nothing for Druids because when wildshaped you do not gain any benefits from equipment that was worn. It is absorbed into your new form.
When wildshaping: you equipment dpesnt change size or shape to match the new form, and *any equipment that the new form can't wear* must either fall to the ground or merge with the new form. Equipment that merges with the wildshape form has no effect, until you leave the form.
While wildshaped, worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature’s shape and size.
This implies that size & physiology is the factor that the DM should consider for this judgement call on whether the new form could "wear" the item.
The guantlets of ogre power are good even if Strength is not a main stat for your charatcer and class. I have a very dex heavy fighter with a bit of sorcerer. This let's me have plenty more options and good bonuses for Strength and Athletics checks, as well as being able to use non-finesse weapons.
I personally think Broom of Flying is better than the boots, as it gives more movement (most of the times) and doesn't require attunement, but that may be a personal opinion
video idea: top 10 poisonous snakes.
like, in real life.
superfightingrobot a good april’s fools video
The Staff of Python is great at lower levels but I believe most higher level parties prefer the speed and versatility of the Staff of C++
At level 6 Moon druid attacks in wild shape form become magical anyway, so that Insignia of Claws would not really improve druids attack apart from +1 for attack rolls.
Damn, that snake staff really is OP!
~_~
3:50 hoo boy, I have fond memories of the Wand of Magic Missiles’ upcasting. So my DM was foolish enough to allow me, the fighter, to have 2 of them at level 7. Come the big bossfight, most of the party had forgotten I had them. Cue me drawing one, having had the other in my offhand for a little bit, and using Action Surge to mag-dump both wands, dealing about 77 damage to the boss.
So yeah, if you’re playing a fighter, get 2 of them. Hell, get 4! Then you can just take out some other wands instead of waiting for the recharge.
idk why, but hearing "just holds around 500 pounds of crap," was so funny lol
Bag of holding full of skeletons wielding wands of magic missiles is a special level of shenanigans
I have a fighter (archer) build and he uses winged boots and dang he is unstoppable. He can just fly out of reach of melee attackers and rain down hell with his longbow.
Level 6 Artificer's can make uncommon magic items in three and a half days and 1000 gold. This includes every +1 weapons, everything on this list etc. Now, they probably need to be proficient in the proper artisan tool, but that's probably not a big deal.
Minigun contraption of magic missiles. Several wands of mm, on a rotary. Your dm will probably never let you do this.
Duellogs I didn't know you had a dnd channel
Headband of Intellect being used to make int your dump stat can go wrong very quickly if you get it stolen or have a dispel magic affect it
In a recent game when we went to see what goodies were available at the local magic shop , I asked if they had a weapon of warning and was told 60 000 gold . Looks like this is going to be a campaign that is magic weaponless .
People always forget about the lowly +1 Weapon. So many different immunities and resistances that it will bypass just because it is magical.
I wouldnt say its better than any or all of the items on this list, but a cloak of protection is always good no mater which class you play.
My favorite Uncommon Items which I've found, that are not the ones mentioned in the video are...
The Immovable Rod
The Javelin of Lightning
The Seeker Dart (From Princes of the Apocalypse)
And my all time favorite, which I'm surprised didn't make the list, The Wand of the War Mage, who doesn't want a +1 to EVERY spell attack roll?
I used a bag of holding to hold a Flail Snail shell in my first D&D game
I also got warped to the astral plane from placing a portable hole in the bag and now the campaign takes place in the astral plane. I played a sorcerer and rolled high enough to know it would happen.
All I did was say "rift time!"
10:35 defective sword of warning "i waaaarned youuu"
What about Brooms of Flying?
Super fast fly speed, no attunement, and lots of utility
Weapon of Warning (aka, Weapon Bro) gives you the superpower of going first on average. Always have this on if you can. All daggers should be of warning silvered. This is so good. If I was DM and every player asked me, I'd allow. That's just being smart. YOU DON'T NEED TO EQUIP TO HAVE THE GOODIES!!! Shame it needs attunement...
I still don't have a wand of MM. Consistent ranged damage for melee. An ok turn for any spellcaster. 120 feet is super far and complements perfectly big ranges. Saves a few actions if you have nothing better in actions. Can save spell slots. It is great.
I don't like items that conjure stuff in general. Always were a broken aspect of dnd to me. I'd use the bag of tricks, but I'd never request it.
Class specific items... I'd never put in this top 10 to be honest. Not my vid tho. I won't comment further a lot on those, but I'll say I get it and those are good items.
About the Giant Poisonous Snake: for a CR 1/4th creature it packs a punch. You can tpk a party with lvl 1 using just 2 of those. Conjure animals: 8 of those is really nasty as a resource sink before any other fight.
Yea, stat adjustment items are great. But the Winged boots is amazing. Busto. Flying is just too good.
The duel logs, but for dnd. I gasped when i heard the therapeutic voice
Periapt of Wound Closure
My favorite is the Bag of Holding, but he already got that. 😉
Robe of Stars supplants Wand of Magic Missiles at later levels. You can use it six times and it automatically casts the spell at higher levels.
Though, I suppose you could just buy a metric fuckton of wands to accompany the Robe, and then you're a walking artillery battery that never misses.
Wand of Magic Missiles. hmmm.
I am Doc Glock! Everybody on the ground! Nobody moves, nobody dies! Everyone covered Professor Glock?
Everybody is covered! Say hello to my little friend, the Glocktopus!
Help, the artificer and ranger teamed up.
I can’t believe wand of web isn’t in this list being able to cast one of the best 2nd level spells possibly 6-7 times a day and it regains on avg 4.5 charges daily the only thing on this list that’s comparable to that is the winged boots
My favorite thing to do is be a warcaster wisard with 2 wands of magic missiles to my sword that I cast spells from
Always have a spare warforged or air genasi in your bag of holding.
