Assamese society has always been a secular society even without constitution so the credit should go towards Assamese society which is predominantly Hindu not constitution . Shah Miran alias Ajan Fakir preached Islam in mediaeval Assam in sivasagar without any problems from hindu counterparts. Muslims soldiers that came with bakhtiar khilji that were captured by ahom army were settled throughout the Kingdom and no one forced to convert.
Can a Hindu or Christian or Sikh preach their religion and convert muslims without facing threat from Muslim society. Now these people are preaching secularism to us. The irony!

And also some people whose name I wouldn't like to mention should have some shame and respect for the people who provided them a place to stay, food to eat when they were facing situations like hell at certain times. But rather than respecting us, they in turn turned out the tables and showed their true colours in all the ways possible. Come to Assam, you'll find people who take pride in not speaking our language. They are proud of not knowing Assamese and they are ready to fight to not speak Assamese. That's the respect we get for our kind heartedness. And if we are really not treated as children of a stepmother, then why was everyone silent on the Manipur crisis. Yesterday Manipur, tomorrow Assam. There's a thin line between communalism and nationalism. But without communalism, without your own identity, you cannot expect your nation to survive. So it's better that some people start respecting our culture because they live in Assam. The name itself says that it's the land of Assamese not of some Bangladeshi or Bihari or anyone else of any religion or culture. So it's high time that at least a few sections of our so-called Hindu brothers and also other people start speaking Assamese in the entire state. Not only just in Upper Assam to Lower Assam. As a student, I really appreciate the ideology behind the discussion about political issues. People may call it pro-hindu or anti-muslim, but I believe this is a duty; a duty to respect one's culture, and not let anyone supress it just by saying that YOU'RE NOT SECULAR. ✅ Disrespecting someone's religion may be bad, but respecting our own religion isn't. As nobody can deny the fact that BHARAT was invaded by Arabians, not invited by BHARAT VAASIS.
Neither we aryans are mool nivasis as per historical data. So since we exist as nation state now we should be careful in using the term Bharat basis in such frivolous manner. These are all propaganda machinery to create rift for political mileage
I never said that Aryans are mool nivasis. I just said that secularism doesn't mean that we suppress our own religion. And about the term BHARAT, maybe it's the constitution that permits the use of both Bharat and India to represent the country. And I used it because I realised that almost all the non-English books/texts use Bharat instead of India, so maybe that's agreeable that this term was given by British, in the same way as they gave it to the coloured people in the USA and other countries where they colonized.

Sir you're saying that muslims aren't secular but the Hindus too yes we Hindus are secular but you can't judge a religion by observing your neaby Muslim society. I also have Muslim friends but they don't show any communalism since they are secular. As people's mentality varies in various places of the country. And you're also saying that they won't eat chicken in Hindu's house it is because for them its haram to consume animals without the blood being separated as its a religious practice which they can't deny.
