I have never really used the pattern section in S1 because I haven't been a big fan of drawing in notes, but after watching this I think I may experiment and give it a try. Thanks, Gregor. Peace
Drawing notes is a big part of EDM or hip-hop
@@FluidITGuy Yeah, I get that It is a big part now for 'some' people (EDM, trap, etc.), but I still prefer a more hands-on hardware approach whenever possible. Especially with creative Hip Hop.

Nice ! Can also use pattern mode to pan individual drum elements.Much easier than drawing automation lines for certain midi notes!

@@eylam9690 I have a video on my channel on how to Pan 808 that way and you can do that to any sound that is coming from Impact or Sample one.
The probability control was one of my favourite things in StylusRMX, great to see it in Studio One. Would be good if the probability had a fixed seed that could be reseeded - then you wouldn't have to bake it down to be the same perfomance every time.

Hey Gregor, i like patterns a lot. But i´m often missing view Notes from another track (like in normal mode / ghost notes). Is it possible to add this feature? :-)
Same! I could see how it might be difficult to implement but being able to overlay a view of another instrument or audio track would me awesome
ok great but would be nice if the colors on the piano roll patter mode would be customizable as well.
Presonus please increase the pattern steps to 128 or 8 bars to allow for 8bar arrangement. 4 bars is too small and convoluted when arranging a song. Make the pattern sequencer 8 or 16 bars max please.

I'm coming from live, and I don't understand why we cannot extend the midi part like the pattern like shown at 3:05?
Do Patterns also follow the chord track or does the chord following only work with normal midi parts?

I'm not into EDM but this could be useful to add some movement to regular drums.
Patterns are nice but it seems they can only be a certain length. When I convert a long part (8 bars) into a pattern it often gets truncated. Anyone know why this is the case?
Exactly. The pattern sequencer only goes up to 4 bars or 64 steps. I hope they increase it to 8 bars or 128 steps to make arrangement easy
Or at least make it divide into pattern variations automatically

It's definitely included in a S1 6.x Version, don't know if its already in S1 5 or older. I've got this feature with S1 6.02 .xxxx Professional.
