Simply atmos, dtsX, Auromax all are object based sound systems..( the honey bee effect as explained for example ) . But apart from that, basic sound quality is what we should focus first,. Without that, whats the point in bringing spatial surround.
We used to get CD audio quality earlier, with dts ( film reel), and to an extend with lpcm when played with qube processor. This quality diminished in many aspects over the years.

Dolby focus on more on the sounds within cinema.. The dts encoding concentrate on sound out of the screen and feel like its happening near to us. ( Redbook std )..

True!! But dolby has played some aggressive marketing game, and gained market all over the world.. They are big, they ar already in market for more than 55 years.. So other comoanies cannot compete with them even with way better quality product than dolby.. Moreover dolby is pkayinv dirty games that any kind of sound format would be named after them.. Even lpcm 5.1, 7.1 surround format are currently known with a dolby suffix.. Infact there is no sound mixing called dolby surround 7.1,. Its just lpcm raw sound in 7.1..dolby manufactured a 7.1 sound processor and aggressively made contract agreement with high profil theater chains to use this instead of builtin audio processor of digital cinema processor..
And they began playing dolby surround 7. 1 video demo.. ( just because the theater uses their sound processor)
