    I just discovered you and I appreciate the details that you are sharing. I'm not formally trained and I've learned many complex jazz pieces by ear but I need to improve my technique. I've already purchased some of your materials! Thank you!

    Nice video and gorgeous tones. But the title of the video seems a bit ironic to me coz for those here in Toronto who studied jazz piano at York University years ago, you would've learned from Oscar Peterson himself! 🙂

      @@thembelihledunjana I didn't get that privilege either... But I did take some lessons from the great Frank Falco, who taught alongside Oscar at York for years and told many great stories about their time together. Oscar clearly loved passing along his great wealth of jazz knowledge.

      Wow I was in Toronto during that time but I didn’t listen to jazz then. Saw Peterson play at the Blue Note in 2007 though wish I got exposure to jazz earlier in life.

    Please don't ever change your hairstyle! I never attended music school. I love jazz. But only the simple type. Like the type I hear you play. I kinda dislike the type of jazz that is filled with lots of tension, lots of improv, lots of runs. It sounds to me like the harmonic elements like to beef all the time just so they can find the 'perfect' resolution. Your hairstyle stands out because of its simplicity. And so do the best jazz standards.

    Hi! When the minor 4 drives you back to the 3, as you stated at 7:04 seconds....what were those chords u played that got u back to the 2??? 7:09 - 7:12 seconds? They are BEAUTIFUL!!!! I LUV YOUR PLAYING!! MARRY ME!!!

      It’s pretty much changing the tensions of the dominant chord that works well with the melody. Keep melody on top

    Hi I've messaged you not long ago. 3mths into my Jazz harmony &Voicings Coarse. There's no tutor but still enjoying it My only concern is Obviously il continue REPETITION,REPITITION, 😂 But do I REALLY need to go to college or Uni to Advance or is there Plenty options out there!? Take care 💯👍

    • @thembelihledunjana
      @thembelihledunjana  Před 2 měsíci

      It’s up to you. I can’t answer that question. But as someone who went to uni, some of the benefits to it is getting to network with other players who you’ll end up working with in the professional world, plus more advanced theory. Depends who teaches you. You could have a really good experience!
