Dynasties (2018)
Every animal is on an extraordinary journey through life with one goal: To produce the next generation. This is life's great story. They set out to build a group, a family, a troop, one that will rule and in turn provide for their offspring not just survival but dominance of the land. We meet them at a pivotal stage in their lives and follow their fate as they strive to fulfil their biological destiny. It may be from the moment they are born, from the moment they are forced out of their family or from the moment they make a play to become a leader. But all will create a dynasty.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

The dedication of penguin fathers and mothers👏
Much better than a lotta human parents these days
@@alceratops6853 Ikr, some human parents litteraly hate their babies so much they just put them into adoption centers. :'(
@@Ben_The_First penguins always are happy for their chicks small penguins get only 2 eggs and big only 1egg !!! they're soooooooooooooooo happy for their penguin chicks:)
How those tiny little chicks survive in those abysmal conditions is amazing. And kudos to the parents
That's the beautiful creations of Allah almighty#royalrecipes
The conditions are abysmal for us, humans, but they are adapted to that location.

The family reunion at 3:10 is just wonderful. It captures so much happiness, pride and love..
🤔does it?
The babies are cute. I know death is a part of life but seeing that poor poppa penguin with his dead baby made me sad.
Same ...
@JOVANKA-------👇💋 gross
Same:(
The bond between the parents is amazing. Such an amount of natural trust and amazing teamwork.
They are beyond cute! BBC earth is such a blessing. Also just wanna raise a toast to Sir David Attenborough who never ceases to amaze and has kept the nation alive.
Amen.
Wait he kept the entire nation of England alive ?!? Ohhh you must mean notion-wait that still makes nonsense
It's "want to" not "wanna" and how does this "keep the nation alive"?
I always love how baby penguins always bob their heads when they chirp. So cute 😍💞💞
Emperor penguins are my favourite bird species. Just love everything about them. Incredible creatures.
I like baby emperor penguins most.
It is so heartbreaking to see baby penguin dead...😢 Nobody's life is easy... everybody is struggling for survival...both mothers and fathers are on their toes for their children...🌹❤️ and these animals are much more stronger than us..💯
They have a high mortality rate. Either they freeze or starve to death when one parent doesn't return from feeding.
Chicks not children
I can't imagine how sad of the parents to know their child didn't survive 😭
A significantly high % of chicks do not survive into adulthood (over 70%). Reality of being an Emperor Penguin
ok
so sad
💔😔😢
@@itzyonplayz8673 That one word, two syllables, I felt seen, I felt heard, namaste to you.
Such a lovely scene, especially at the end where the 2 parents chests touched one another and they stayed like that
I can't imagine a world without Sir David Attenborough.
Me too omg 😍 he’s going to live on forever ♾ through his legacy 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Don't wory then i will take sir David Attenborough role
the unfortunate inevitable
One of my favorite animals. This species especially is so adorable.
I love.how they cuddle and protect their young
I mean let's take a moment to be amazed how they find each other. Truly living on life's edge garners appreciation for healthy relationships & skills like dedication to family.
This is one of the most fascinating animals in this world. The most intense beginnings for the little ones. So so cold. Sadly this is a penguins life. All that world transferring eggs. Keeping chick warm. And yet it freezes. Sadness for parents. Penguins really work tough at one egg one chick. Awesome penguins 🐧 💞
Aw, the little cracks before the chirping kicking in always gets me.
The way the parents reunite with each other 🤗🥰🥰
I don't think there's any love like a penguin couples' love ❤
Elephant mothers are especially sensitive/close as well, but no couples there (just mum & some aunties in an exclusive herd).
Penguins work & thrive @ “bringin up baby” as a couple & THAT is unmatched (outside of good, supportive humans)!
Don’t ya’ just marvel @ nature, sometimes?! Very affecting, life affirming, stuff! 👍🤟🐧
Thank you Sir Attenborough for inspiring me to become a Wildlife Biologist, I want to protect the most vulnerable and beautiful animal populations on Earth, and I want to thank you for introducing me to them.
The death of that little penguin made me cry
Just a thought of it made me sad for a while too, imagine who live to see it.
Man, penguins are so cute. Except when you see into their mouths.
for real
Welcome to the world little ones 🥰
@JOVANKA-------👇💋 stop and get some help
The legendary sound that makes you feel the greatness of the wild.. the sound of the commentator ❤
The dad that is still caring for his chick even though his chick is already dead is so sad😢
It's David attenborough's voice🥰
Penguins are so cute!!
the coloring of the parents is so beautiful. thank you
This is amazing and so beautiful ❤️

If the next clip is the ravine scene....
Imma cry
Emperor penguins are gorgeous!
こんなに沢山皇帝ペンギン🐧がいるなんて素敵❤💕
1:50 that penguin seems to be morning the loss of his son.
Wow, first time I've actually seen the cracking egg!
1:55 😢😢😢😭😭😭
This is so cute seeing these baby penguins hatch but it's really sad that these parents sacrifice themselves to keep there babies alive 🥺🐧💙
Is now sleep
Emperor parents don't sacrifice themselves. If either parent doesn't return from the sea when expected, the remaining parent will abandon the chick, leaving it to die.
How gentle are mama's beak. Aww, so beautiful. But so sad for the little ones who didn't survive.
Tão lindo...O sentido de união e família tão acentuado que é maravilhoso...a repartição das tarefas dos pais é incrível...tudo em prol da cria!!
Thank you David for your wonderful content!
This simply made my day !
Who else really wanted the mother emperor penguin to cough up a fish at the end?
I love all these emperor penguin families, they are so cute !! 🙏😍🐧😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 The comments of Sir David Atenborough are amazing. Congratulations and thank you so much, BBC Earth. 💕🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹😊🌹❤🙋♀️🇨🇵😍🤗
This is cute but the thing that ruins it is; if the queen penguins baby dies she goes and steals someone else's child
Penguins are awesome

Looking @penguin walk little step by little step make me laughing, it's funny😁🤣
So precious and miraculous😭😭
I feel so bad for the momma penguin that will look under the Pappa and find a dead baby penguin, and the Pappa penguin that is probably hoping the chick is just sleeping🥺😭

How was the photography done ? I wonder
dear lord the saturation
Hiiii hey hello 👋👋👋🤗🤗🤗
I understand that penguin partners are for life. But I wonder if chicks remember who their parents are when they become adults.
normally they dont have to go for too long or far to get fish for food. but cuz human catch the fish from their territory, they have to go further.
am i right?
No, the colony generations exists there for years. The iceberg is just more strong and stable than near the sea
@@jason38 Unfortunately, not stron enough, there have been cases of whol colonies sinking in the sea due to the rupture of the ice floe (an iceberg is a big mount of ice, lost in sea), due to global warming. All the adults survive, but it usually kills all the chicks that are not waterproof yet, can't swim, and even if they suceed to stay out of water, being wet in Antarctic is basically a death sentence ^^'
Once they get to the water fish are easy to get, but the water's far away. Emperors breed in the winter, with dozens of miles of ice between them and the water. Over the course of the spring the ice melts, so little by little the water gets closer.
Hey and hello 👋👋👋🤗🤗🤗
