You always get detractors who moan about how 10's "farewell tour" was drawn-out, superfluous and self-indulgent. But RTD writing this in subsequently that Ten didn't just visit his own companions, but also all his previous companions from his other lives made it even more poignant. Then Moffat comes along and declares 11 to be the final incarnation of the regeneration cycle and now looking back on this scene to realise 10 visited all the companions he had ever travelled with because he knew (or presumed) he'd never get the chance to do it again is so heartbreaking yet endearing. like it or not what Davros said in journey's end did have some weight and truth to his words.
