I'm a 90s kid but I just finished season 3 and damn is all I can say. Back in the 80s I could only imagine the feeling that the viewership felt when seeing this, it was as real as it could get. I'm putting one in the air right now for Stan, Tubs old school car and Sunny' s Rari. This show beats TWD and every other 21st century show series.
I'm an 80's kid and I introduced Miami Vice to my daughter and she adores the show. She says that she wishes that she was born I the 80's. She thinks that I lived in a much cooler time and after she has watched a lot of episodes she can tell wear I got most of my styles from. Man a toast to the greatest TV cop show ever, Miami Vice because it never gets old.# Timeless& classic.
I remember watching every episode of Miami Vice back in the 80's when it was aired on tv. This episode, this song, threw me into tears. Stevie's music, the message was clear and beautiful. A life into eternity. I play it for my late brother who died on Memorial Day, the 25th of May 1992. He died alone, and he was only 37. I was so sorry that Larry left the show. Today you can watch the entire series. Miami Vice was so great with the INCREDIBLE music by Jan Hammer, Genesis, Glenn Frey...but, Stevie's lyrics in There's A River, truly touches your heart.
Yeah a lot of reasons why he left the only one I think is correct was where he was tired of the underwritten role. The show centered around Tubbs and Crockett. Also in 1987 began Miami Vice's downturn in the ratings department. They switched it to compete with Dallas and it was all downhill from there. Bad move.
+Disc Jockey Definitely a memorable piece in Miami Vice history. I heard John wanted a bigger role in the series and wanted to pursue a career in theatre..
The episode that featured this song just now aired on StarzEncoreAction. I almost thought this was a Peter Gabriel tune. Thankfully the MV Wikipedia page helped out.

Remember watching this episode when it first aired, what a heartbreaker
Miss this show. Miss my 80s terribly.
I love this series. :)
Fuck, such a sad song . . . hated it when Larry died
I think he was written off as gracefully as possible

Thank you for the memories. No stronger bond than that between two men who have been to Hell and back together! RIP
Habe immer wieder nach diesem Song gesucht. Heute ist mein Glückstag❣️ 😊
This really brings back a lot of memories music wise and also T.V wise God bless the 80s
Can anyone else remember when it was “Little Stevie Winwood”
Great song, makes my ❤
Very memorable piece when Stan found Larry dead in the gym. Always was curious why John Diehl left Miami Vice as he was greatly missed.

Brownalicious I did always wonder why John left. If I was Michael Mann I would have given him the bigger role!
Me too! He was pretty essential to the series, especially with Stan..
RIP Zito
