Fell asleep to this album more times than I can remember when I was a kid in the UK. Pressure of school and mum dying of cancer at the time.
Still listen to it but appreciate it in different ways now.

Reading the fabulous book “Deliver Me From Nowhere” by Warren Zanes, all about the making of this album and what Bruce was going through at the time. Very insightful and has me appreciating Bruce even more.

A beautiful track from a great album. Never tire of listening to any of the tracks. Probably the only thing my ex-wife introduced me to apart from my son.

This man is so brilliant. This song is brilliant. This album is so brilliant. I have seen over 200 Springsteen concerts and have had the greatest time of my life. .I just don't love the twang portion of his voice for a little while. Now I know absolutely nothing about singing etc. Nothing. So I won't be that clown who says Bruce can't sing, becasue I promise you he can. He actually has gotten better.... His voice is very good. I love this man. Just didn't love the twangy part of his live voice in this period. Of course each show was spectacular and memorable. I'm just making a point.

I was just a kid but we lived in Lincoln when starkweather was on his killing spree. When he was on the loose the town was on edge. My dad told me of dads escorting their children to school with shotguns.

He sings about the murders from 1958 that were committed by Charles Starkweather from Lincoln Nebraska. His girlfriend was at the time 14 years old and was with him during the murder spree. Before he was executed in an electric chair, his last wish was that she sits on his lap. This song is more dark than you think. She was a minor. She is alive and her name is Caril Ann Fugate.

Not a Bruce fan but Nebraska is one of my favorite albums. Not a skip over song on it. Unfortunately it never translated into liking anything else by him.
Fair enough! I love most of his catalog, but not all. However, this album is amazing. The darkness has never sounded so infinite.
