- Great quality for an audience recording. Live from the 1984 tour in Detroit, MI at Cobo Arena. Ed started his solo spot real mellow and bluesy for this tour. @VanHalen

I was at this show had seats in Tier C. Thanks for this!!
He was on fire that night in Detroit!!
🤟40 years to the day🤟
Grew up near dtroiit as a kid wanted SOO BAD to go to this show, I was like 15 at the time.....would've blown my mind to be there
Simply awesome!!
The GOAT
Wow 😯 ❤RIP EDDIE 👑
7:39 he starts doing some nice melody I had never heard before from him. 8:05 is the tapped progression of "The Dream is Over" from the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album. Eddie was lit on fire on this solo. Amazing!
Judgement Day
@@miked179 Judgement Day! My bad
@@miked179 ohhh never realized that was Judgement Day! One of my favs from that era.
I think he has his lap stand open on the back of his guitar playing the 7:39 mark
He played that entire section with the bracket on his thigh, playing like Jeff Healey did!
For some reason he never included this technique in his solos after 1984. Instead he turned Cathedral into a 9 minute yawnfest doing basically the same solo for the rest of his career

That's exactly why I watched this video. To see if he was playing the same tired solos, eruption, cathedral, little guitars, spanish fly and mixing them all together.
Nice to hear he still had passion back then.
Would love to someone try and cover that solo.
From 739 to 805
Anyone know what his amp rig was during the 84 tour? I know he was still using his Marshalls but was he still cascading them and did he still use a variac on that tour?
have you ever poo'd yourself
