    In these clips we hear from Tom Bushnell, blind from a very young age, we hear how he made a living and was determined to stay independent. Amazing locals with his ability to guide neighbours through the darkened streets of Bermondsey during the blackout.

      Well I'm a tough semi old East London Cockney and it made me cry too! Who would of thought an East Londoner and a South Londoner would've of agreed about something 😂 but let's be honest we are both fighting the same fight nowadays. Keep well

      It said the narrator was called Benny Green and it was made in 1972.

    These people were tough,hardworking,resourceful and had bundles of character.
    But now we have Narcissistic,entitled,rude and arrogant people inhabiting this part of London(and other parts)
    ..but they do possess a very sophisticated veneer, and are very "Tech savvy"so this makes them believe they are the crusaders for our "Brave new world"!

      @@numberstation besides which not everyone likes getting charity. That kid was sent round there by his school most likely, he wasn't going to regularly check on her or even keep her company for a while.
