The X-Men have gone on so many suicide missions. As readers we know that beyond the 4th wall, they will come out on top.
But this time it was different, wasn't it? Nightcrawler and Wolverine didn't dramatically reject the idea of losing their lives. They accepted it and as readers, we had to do the same.
What great writing.
The wolverine/Nightcrawler panel was freaking brilliant. Love seeing decades of friendship pay off in a beautiful moment.

I stopped reading any Marvel comics after the events of AvX but after hearing positivity on Hickman's HoX and PoX, here I am again. I'm on HoX 5 and PoX 5, and am loving it so far.

There is still no explanation on how we got from the end of Uncanny Xmen to here. Xavier disappeared after Astonishing Xmen ended and he was in Fantomex's body. We need to see when he reconnected with everyone and got this new arrangement started.
House of X and Power of X has brought me back to the X-Men after 8 years. It is amazing and I am excited for the new launch. House of X #6, Synch and Skin are back. 😍

I love this series. Finally the X-Men and mutants are going for a big win. Usually they're fighting for survival and trying to pull themselves from the brink of extinction. It's refreshing and really well written and illustrated. I hope it's cannon.

Krakoa has been around in Marvel since 1975. It was the island that seemingly captured the first xmen team, killed the majority of the second xmen team (the one with Vulcan and Darwin), and where the third xmen team (cyclops, storm, wolverine, nightcrawler, ect) went on their first mission together in giant sized xmen #1

What’s interesting is that Wakanda actually refused to acknowledge Krakoa as a sovereign Nation because they didn’t need “Miracle Drugs.” What I’m curious about though, is if it might have to do with the fact that Namor is a mutant, and on multiple occasions has posed a threat to Wakanda, even going so far as flooding it in AvX (which I’m guessing is technically no longer in this continuity, but still.) Also, did T’Challa and Ororo’s marriage get erased in the new timeline, or are they still together?
As a comic fan/blerd, that started and still have a life long love of the X-Men stories, this is the Best X-Men storyline to date (in my opinion)!!!

House/Powers of X reinvigorated the franchise in a way that made it painless. Aa for top 10s, can you do something involving the various Superboys?
In her sixth life she survives with Logan in a mutant preserve built by the posthumans until a thousand years in the future when that posthuman machine/human hybrid society is deemed worthy of absorption into the Phalanx.
Logan than kills her to send her back with knowledge of how that potential outcome comes to pass.
This was one of your best 'lists' i've seen. Thanks for breaking down this story line.

OK. I'm gonna be the one to pull the cat out of the proverbial bag: Xavier is Xavier, but his body is Fantomex's. Yup. Seriously. He even has the blond hair and is young and fit. Thus the walking, etc. Go read 2017's Astonishing X-Men, specifically the Annual. ;-)
Also, I'd love to know what parts were the parts that made you "almost cry". That would be an interesting video in on itself.

I’m loving House of X/ Power of X run. I haven’t been this stoked about X-men comics in a very long time.
Shame it’s coming to an end.
I feel that this is just the start, I really am hoping Hickman will be able to continue and write long-term arcs for X-Men like Claremont did.
Yea, this is to be more like a base for the next like 11yrs of storytelling that is coming our way.

It's my absolute favorite thing to read rn( even beyond my BP subscription) HoxPox MAY be my favorite X Story this far period, and I'm a X nut
I hope ya'll continue to cover the highlights of Jonathan Hickman's current run on X-Men.
I’m not 100% on board with Moria being a mutant, how does that effect the events of Deadly Genesis, Proteus and the Muir Island X-men if she had knowledge of these events not to mention any of the time travel story lines of characters like Cable and Hope and also the Morlock Massacre...ugh it makes my head hurt.
Both these series have been truly amazing. Very well written and drawn.

Eventually all hell is gonna break loose. There are alot of unanswered questions and mysteries to be explained.
I feel it too. The story is too 'utopian' for X-Men that it just makes you wonder if something big is about to happen.

Thanks so much for giving me the itch to get back into the comic book I grew up with I have always loved the X-Men comic books since I first started reading comics at age 9 but as I grew older I slowly lost interest in comics in general for fantasy and science fiction books mostly due to my voracious reading capacity and the increase of comics price beyond what I could afford. You're spirited endorsement of House of X and Powers of X have truly intrigued me and make me wonder if I should start reading the latest stories involving the beloved characters of my youth.
This is so huge change of statuts quo and it's refreshing. I am not 100% sure where all the xmen continuities/past stories enter this new status quo and i try not to think about it to much. Marvel and the editors of the x titles are taking risks and it s good to see and to read. Big up for hickman and larraz

I'm really hoping they finally do more with Franklin. Hes stronger than the other Omegas combined, and remains a HUGE unknown variable. Will the mutants try to convince him to leave his family? Kidnap him? How will the FF react. Really gets me excited for future installments.
Franklin is seriously OP. They never should've given the character the level of power he has. Makes any story he's in easily changed with an ex machina.
I agree ... It would be great to see Franklin interact with his fellow mutants ... He's a teenager now ...
I hope they do nothing with him. He is so OP, like Scarlet Witch, that he would dominate any story. I do not want that.

In the mcu i could see them using genosha to introduce mutants. It could also bring an african magneto into the mcu. Imagine him against black panther if magneto wants to punish wakanda for not aiding other suffering people.
Hickman is a methodical genius! But his new XMen world is not possible without the work of the other creators, e.g., Claremont, etc..

Hickman was amazing in repairing and reworking the paths previous works of the X-Men run did, but without ignoring or disrespecting the writers who worked on them, e.g. Claremont, especially with the Moira reincarnations.

Reading these comments has inspired me to give HoX and PoX a shot. I quit reading comics when diversity was forced upon the readers as I simply had no interest any more, but this comment section has me wanting to see how they are doing these days. Thanks fellow comics lovers.
I feel like this won't be the most popular opinion here, but hear me out. This isn't a story about mutants finding peace, this will be how they become the oppressors and became the very thing they sought to destroy. There acting like a cult, and on top of that Cyclopes more or less threaten to kidnap Franklin from his family. I think this story is setting up the X-men to fail hard soon and if I had to guess by whom, it would be the combined effort of Wakanda and Latveria, in fighting, and maybe even the F4 if they do take Franklin and since Black Panther is the leader of the Avengers now they could get involved too.
This would make sense if there was actually a threat to kidnap Franklin, but you're injecting that to fit your theory. There was no threat. He simply said whenever Franklin was ready, his home was waiting for him. That's not even remotely close to a threat to kidnap. It's more so Scott pointing out that eventually, Franklin will want to seek out his own "people", mutants. When he's ready to do that, Krakoa is waiting for him.
That being said, of course this story arc is setting the mutants up for failure. That's kind of the point. It is a comic book after all and books about a mutant utopia where everybody gets along and there's no drama would sell very poorly. There are plenty of things in this story arc that elude to so many issues arising in the near future (and they've all been strategically placed throughout the arc) that make this very interesting writing. It's very well written.
@@GusVardas I kinda read what Scott said as a very passive threat as in "when he decides to join us, we'll take him regardless of what you think". My main point is that I have been seeing this comment section and elsewhere a lot of people celebrating what the mutants are doing when think that they are currently betraying the dream of prof x and getting ready to go past the moral event horizon of no return. Along with my guess of how it will go up in flames.

WarriorD13 The nation and its habitats/biomes (extensions) are fauna since Krakoa is sentient and one with all that is a part of it. Flora is a part of its being. My theory is that flora on Krakoa is similar to hair or fur.

You are thinking of stryfe the clone of cable that wasnt infected with the virus.
Sinister is a centuries old mutant like Mystique. He acted as the headmaster of the orphanage that Scott Summers spent time in as a child as Nathan Essex, so he was a father figure to Scott in his early life. Sinister taking in Cyclops was something he had been calculating for decades, as he has had a deep interest in the Summers DNA for a very long time. There was no affection towards any of the kids in his orphanage on his part, he did it for the sole purpose of studying Scott's DNA.

I sure hope that they have sufficient counseling on hand. You barely have time to deal and catch your breath, before *< surprise look who else is back! >* spouses, kin, enemies, friends and cohorts also show up. For some, life has gone on without them, Old grudges/hatreds resurfacing when you're not who you were when you once believed in those old causes.
