Hi Matt and Cass. I have 7 Nigerian goat (puppies). They spend a lot of time following me around my homestead. I was watching Sow the Land channel and they had three sheep get spooked and they got tangled in their electric fence and got shocked to death. I use livestock panels which are 4' high x 16' long and they work great. I do have coyote problem which can jump or dig under so have two livestock guardian dogs, one can not take on two plus coyotes. Also I built a solid little barn which protects them from wind, rain and snow, which they hate. I can lock them in from predators and storms. Dont forget baking soda for when they get upset stomachs, they will eat it to keep their rumen working. Self serve. You know they can have four babies lol. Also their milk is rich enough to make butter. Hooray Have fun with your new babies, I still do after years with mine. Looking forward to watching you add to your homestead. Barb

Maybe some solar panels could be placed on the goat shelter and rain collection.
The rooster is always stealing the show.
The new ground maintenance crew are cute. Just grid off some other areas to keep things cleared from time to time. They mow, make milk for your coffee & and cheese, making. Maybe some small bells on them in case they stray when you're not looking.

Hey Guys moved from Cleveland Ohio to South Central Indiana , Love your life style . Bought a rural house and property . My biggest surprise was Chiggers never had those back home or ever encountered them . I've learned a lot since I first moved here 3yrs ago .In my 70s now so I'm really limited to what I can do . Really enjoy your homestead lifestyle .Stay positive and good luck .

Hilarious that Matt painted his mobile solar panel cart orange. When did he do that, and why orange? Is that a portable battery stool? 🤣Goats are super social animals.

Aw, loving the goat content already. I’m sure you have many helpful resources, I think you may enjoy Heather at Sage and Stone Homestead. She raises Nigerian and LaManchas. She’s so easy to follow, very knowledgeable and relatable and makes all things goat milk!

Love the goats, when I lived in Oregon, had pygmys. And a llama to guard them. You mentioned nubians. I had 2 males. Who acted just like big dogs, when I drove up would jump in truck or when going in house. They came right in. Only thing I had high wire fence and they would jump it. Then go over to neighbors and eat their roses. Neighbor threatened to shoot them. SO sadly rehomed, wasn't worth it. We had thistle with bad thorns and the goats loved them. Miss those days. Best wishes to you both!!!

If you let your goats form a bigger herd, you can use them for kudzu removal and get paid for it too. Free food and get paid, what could be better.

Keep your guard up because when you're not looking, they will head butt your bum. I'm not sure if that's with just boy goats/billy

Please make sure there is not Holly where the goats can get to it and eat it. It's very poisonous.
Yes they need an enclosed shelter to keep safe from storms and predators. Usually you breed so you get spring babies ,not winter . Just fyi.
Cattle panels and t posts work great for fencing , that is what we use.
    They are so cute, congratulations.

You need to be very careful of parasites on Goats. Those hollowed in sides say parasites! Also you can pinch the gums and see if they are getting anemic.

Hey guys, Awesome video. Just letting you know, I saw a vlog a month ago that a guy put out about the bowls you are using and I used to use the same ones until I say it. Just saying so you could find it and make your own decision on the affects that he discussed. Love from Ohio

Your shelter needs to be secured. Goats can get ammonia very easy if they get wet. Goats don't like 🌧️🌧️🌧️. There bedding area needs be KEPT DRY. Its also good to give a vitamin,
