    Thank you very much David!! I had been very much frustrated with all those DIY videos around, in which they do their shows with all fancy expensive tools, high precision jigs etc etc. You are showing actually what I really need and what is real for me. Because I have a hand saw, some pallet wood, a hammer and nails to start with.

    I like that nothing is taken for granted in this video. I'm a hobbyist somewhere around intermediate I was still reminded of tricks and techniques that I hadn't thought about in a long time. Experts often assume that some things are so basic they go without saying - would even be insulting to explain. That just leaves beginners in the dark and afraid to ask "stupid" questions. Who's going to want to do something if they've been handicapped like that?

(I'm planning on making a mini one for my dog first to get the hang of it) So many places I've looked at for "dummies" assumes you already know the basics! This is fantastic 👌🏼 thank you!

      Rustic David Thanks for the tips! Do you have any advice to join two pieces of wood into a corner with a post? I was thinking of doing it with pocket hole joints but not sure if it's appropriate.

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 6 lety

      hi if you go with pocket holes i advise you to reinforce the corner with a triangular block of wood notched to accommodate the leg glued and screwed in the corner
      i think that a mortise and tenon joint is preferable and you can make this joint using a hand saw and a chisel and a carpenters square to mark the lines i didn't maker a video of this yet but theres a lot out there good luck David

      Hey David, good easy explaining. I'm a beginner, so I know I can follow. How do you make shelves to go inside? I want to make: cabinet for my bathroom, a desk with drawers, bookcases; but I'm on a budget.

    • @RusticDavid
      @RusticDavid  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Norahik practice hitting the nail square/straight on the head if the hammer head is slightly angled it will cause the nail to bend raise your elbow so its the height of the nail head .Practice practice,practice on scraps with different size nails Good luck Best wishes David
