memento, the bass is always in the low end of a mix, if it was turned up to much everything would just blend together and sound messy. The bass and drums are the core of the rythm section, then the melody instruments like guitar, keyboard or vocals can build on it, that’s why the bass is lower than the other instruments, unless you are leading the song with the bass like in ”Whom The Bell Tolls”.
As someone who's musically illiterate, I find this amazing

Well teen spirit is easy on every instrument. But new this is legit not that hard to pull off either.

edit: 4 years later and I am still getting replies for this. Kinda baffles me how drummers in general just love to boast "being able to play a song" and claiming it is easy to play. Being able to pull off a song with drums as an instrument in general is not that difficult because of how few types of notes there are to play, but there is a huge gap between being able to easily pull off a song and "playing it easily". Even after years of practicing, I would never claim smells like teen spirit is "easy". Drums can make or break a band, and this song in particular shows that extremely well. Since the other instruments are relatively easier, 2 bands can play this same song and one will only sound recognizable as playing the song and the other raving the audience, all because of the drummer. There's a reason why Dave Grohl is considered to be one of the best drummers of all time. If you are claiming this song is easy, you need to have your ego checked.

This is actually pretty impressive tone for an electronically produced guitar!
This guitar preset is even way better than he showcased here. Because this preset is called “retro wah”, it has the wah pedal engaged at 50%, with the assumption that the user is going to use it dynamically while playing. But just left at 50%, it muffles the tone pretty hard. Without it this guitar preset is such a good beginning point to add overdrive and other effects to. The smart guitar is actually intuitive and does more than just strum as well, and all the chords are editable. That’s my go to foundation electric guitar tone. I’ve experimented with almost every audio plugin effect on the app store, (most free) and have the tone and smart guitar set up to sound as real as possible. Most of the people that have heard it assume it’s real and don’t even know. And the best thing, it comes free with literally every iphone so any iphone user has a free, powerful recording studio in their pockets. There are even amp sims in garageband that, if you buy a lightening interface to plug an electric guitar into, you can play around 20 different amps, and can also add all the effects to that tone as well. Pretty much every pedal in existence. I used to mess around in garage just for fun but didn’t know very much, but I enjoyed just playing around so much that I just learned while using it. It’s got a very user friendly UI. It really is a powerful daw with the easiest learning curve there could possibly be. And it’s way over qualified, but editing pod casts is so easy, but most of the people that make pod casts end up downloading another app from the app store because they don’t know that it has all the functionality and miles more, free. No subscription. Yes it’s for making music, it’s an easy audio cutting and editing tool as well. With automatic gain control and audio leveling for voices… Garageband is just awesome in every way.

José Cavazos there’s packs you can download on garageband that give you those sounds
The standard synths are all under the alchemy synths tab, and I believe there is an arrow at the top left. Click that, and the others tab should be all the way at the bottom.
